There is a large selection of sandwiches, baguettes, pannis and bagels as well as two daily soups (one veggie) and the possibility of having hot breakfast rolls anytime of the day. They stock a variety of high quality fillings such as Italian meats; roast chicken (including plain, mayo or coronation), fresh salad and a small yet broad range of cheese (cheddar, Monterrey jack, mozzarella and brie). Unfortunately, though for this range of healthy and good quality food you do pay the price. As a sandwich, drink and cake/packet of crisps/other small snack can soon add up to around the £7 mark. You can sit-in at a small window counter with some high stools. However, you may wish to be careful with your timing as this tiny shop does get particularly busy between 10-11am and then 12pm-2pm due to the high number of construction sites, offices and other small businesses which are dotted nearby. Similarly, the staff can soon turn from being uber friendly and chatty to borderline rude with the heightened stress of these busy spells.

She gave me a menu and said that you can call ahead and collect which is great. Although I live so close I may as well wait a few minutes. The staff were pleasant and it must have been approaching closing time as they were militantly cleaning up around the people still in here. They have wifi, they have seats and it's clean. They have toilets, these were also clean. I generally like the food at Eat although I only choose to eat here if there's nothing else around or I'm in a hurry. I always choose Eat at Glasgow Airport as it's the best of a bad selection but in Glasgow City Centre there's other places I'd rather walk to for lunch. This branch is close-by to quite a few other chains and they tend to be filled with tourists and people grabbing lunch. At least it was quieter around 5pm. I won't be rushing back though.

I quite enjoyed it and the massive amount they gave me actually filled me up before I even started on my french toast. The french toast was a massive portion. I'm not really sure what I was expecting, but the slices of toast were really thick and perfectly cooked. The wee pot of syrup that came along could have been a bit bigger, but that's just me being a greedy American wanting my french toast covered in syrup. I would have also loved some powdered sugar (icing sugar as they call it here) and it would have been the best. Needless to say, it was still really great and super filling. I ended up giving a piece to my boyfriend unable to finish the three pieces. The boyfriend quite liked his eggs, beans and toast, but didn't enjoy his coffee one bit. I even tried it- it was very acidic and bitter. I wouldn't have been able to drink it, but my boyfriend drank it like a champ. All in all, our breakfast was delicious and the service was great. While we were waiting for our food, we noticed they have a bunch of Scottish goods for sale, which was great to see. The rest of the dish was just lovely though and I really enjoyed it. Prices are reasonable for the area, and as I said, the staff are really friendly. They don't seem to have a huge deli section (as mentioned in some other reviews) but that wouldn't put me off going back for lunch or breakfast. Also, it looks like they don't have a customer toilet but if you ask the staff, they'll point you behind the counter and past the kitchen down the stairs.

I used to go frequently when I worked along at Paisley Road Toll, my company would always order from them when we had clients or directors up for down south. Sandwiches can be made up on normal bread, baguettes, paninis, I tend to go with a baguette as I love how much salad they stuff on in there for you. Makes my sandwich feel quite healthy and definitely a cut above what I would usually end up with if I made a sandwich at home. The staff in the shop are very friendly and welcoming and chat away whilst making your order. The prices are very reasonable, I picked up 3 large baguettes, 3 soups and a cake for just under £12 last week and we all ended up with happy, full tummies. They often have a lunch deal on the go and they have some yummy baked goods for sale too, the empire biscuits and huge and yummy :)
