The signage should indicate the accurate mileage since this is a flat, paved trail perfect for visitors in wheelchair, or using walkers/canes. All trails indicates 2.4 miles round trip. Nice to have portapotties, barbecues and benches but they are all pretty close to the entrance. Most of the walk has a lot of noise from Highway 101. No water in the River right now. Where the water and trees welcome you with serenity. Come walk the dog, ride your horse, bring your kayak, bring your fishing pole, bring a blanket, have a BBQ in the group picnic area and more. A safe place for children but please always watch them around any body of water. Just on the outskirts of Santa Rosa, Riverfront welcomes you with all of its glory. The trails around the lake a extra wide and flat. Easy for a wheelchair to go round. This is one of my regular spots to escape and intake the beauty of nature. I highly recommend just buying a parking pass to support the parks. If you visit a regional park once a month, it pays for itself.

You can tell they take their little league baseball serious!! It's got a great design how they positioned the dugouts and t their bleachers raised on a concrete platform tha wraps behind the 1st base, home plate around to third base with their snack shack directly behind home facing the field so you can see all the action while you wait in line! The only one downside i see is that its not got much covering so you get blasted by the sun on hot days on the bleachers. You can sit off the side on the grass down both baselines closer to outfield and under the shade of the trees if you like.

Growing up, this place was known simply as the Ukiah Municipal Park. I'm not sure when the whole Todd Grove thing happened, but it's the in thing to name parks after people. I'm all good with that. Some of the park kid toys are gone, but the giant tractor tires remain. What is it about a giant rubber tire that would get me to spend countless hours entertaining me? The parks iconic symbol to me was always the rocket. Now that was the single biggest childhood attraction for me growing up in the entire town. I still remember the day I felt like one of the big kids when I finally stopped my crying and summited the very top. I swear you could see the Golden Gate Bridge from there. Sir Edmund Hillary has nothing on me. . This park includes two swimming pools, plenty of picnics and countless trees that provide protection and shade from the hot summer sun. I took swimming lessons here as a kid and is where I conquered my fear of the water. I cannot even begin to count the fond memories of this place. From the family summer outings, to the yearly school picnics this place will always hold a special place in my heart.

It's a lovely and well-maintained little park tucked into the neighborhood, just a few blocks from the Plaza. It boasts tennis courts (and lines for pickleball, thanks Mandy L for the intel), basketball courts, the rec baseball field (where the Prunepackers play too!), some picnic tables, a kids play structure, and a parking lot. We walk through regularly and enjoy seeing all of the activity going on. I've also used the grassy areas for strength workouts with friends. Thanks for this beautiful green space in our town!

SCW and I visited Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Park one day while staying nearby. I'd use…read morecaution when using a driving app to get here as we were led along a very narrow road through a local residential area with no room and switchbacks galore. Suffice it to say we saw a few locals along the way that seemed perplexed why we were driving very slowly through their neighborhood. I think that had to do with a bridge closure. Anyways... The return was not the same route thankfully. The park has for pay parking areas and what seemed to be free parking along the road to the park at your own risk. We found a spot in the paid lot ($10). Get a receipt, put it on your car's dashboard and off you go. There's a small welcome center and info at the entrance as well. The Redwoods are incredible here, some alive for 1400 plus years. You simply can't see the tops of the Redwoods from the ground. Truly incredible. The trails are well marked and it's highly discouraged to get off the trails as the environment is very ecologically sensitive. Unfortunately we saw some disregard for that. Stay on the trails people! You'll find placards noting interesting names and places along the way in addition to information about the flora and fauna. The history of the park and previous residents from indigenous peoples to the parks name sake are along the trail. It's an incredible park to visit and appreciate nature. The redwoods are incredible and certainly worth a visit.

Super rude, we left. Probably the same people that drug the bench into the lake... Earlier in the day during the week is the best time to go if you can swing it.

Most the dogs we've encountered are playful and well trained with responsible owners, but like all public dog parks, there can be a bad apple from time to time (talking mostly about the owners that don't pick up after their pup and or won't stop their dog from misbehaving). All it really needs for a 5 star ranking is a restroom of some kind and some Lights for the fall winter months when it's dark before work ends.
