This is my "emergency" shop for when I have nowt in the house and can't be arsed walking to Connswater, it's a typical small mini supermarket and as such only carries a limited range of stuff, usually the sort of thing you grab to hurl at the nearest microwave, slop on a plate, wolf down quickly and work out what it actually was by the taste of your burps. My main gripe about this shop are the prices, if something is on offer, then it's OK, but the rest of the stuff, you think "are they having a laugh?" £1.29 for a Pot Noodle? 62p for a standard sized Mars bar? I think I actually paid £1.40 for a loaf and nearly died at the till when the price was rung in.
I can honestly say this is the dearest shop locally, and the only good is the amount of reduced stuff on offer with the date up, presumably because no-one will buy it at the original price.
The staff are always very good though, considering they're sometimes under pressure by the amount of customers and the shop is always clean as a whistle, if it wasn't for the Dick Turpin prices I'd use it a lot more. read more
