He repaired another tear that was not there but claims it was, he offered to repaired the original tear but for additional cost! Total scam to get more money!!! Kind of mixed feelings about the work that was done. I had the soles replaced on my redwing iron rangers. I changed to a more aggressive tread for traction. I also asked him to ad a layer of leather in the heal stack for cosmetics. Functionally it seems like he did ok but cosmetics are a bit disappointing. First off not all the old stitching was removed so there a row of old stitching that's going to come loose as time goes on and continue to look worst. The worst part though is that he sloppily dyed or painted everything brown including the rubber. Why would anyone do that especially for a customer that specifically asked for extra leather for a layered look. If you don't care about cosmetics at all this guy does fine but if you want a pair of boots that reflect the $450 ($350 boots $100 resole) that you have invested in them definitely don't go here. I'll just slather these in obenaufs make these complete beater boots now so it's not a big deal but I wanted to share so others know what to expect read more

Brought a handbag in for repair and was told it would be $20 to fix. Sent my daughter to pick it up and it wasn't even repaired!!! Called and was told to bring it back in so he could examine it. Brought it back and he looked at it said he fixed a different part of the purse! There was nothing else needing repair! He said it would be another $20 to fix the original problem we brought the bag in for in the first place! Sooo he fixed a problem I never asked him to, charged $20 for it, then wanted another $20 to fix the problem I brought it in for in for. Not a way to do business. I have been to The Cobbler twice now in the last month. Both times I had a pair of boots repaired. I was highly satisfied each time. The Cobbler repaired the heels on my boots that the previous owner said he could not do. He told me he had the knowledge and he surely did. I would highly recommend this shop for your shoe repair needs. read more

I brought a pair of tall boots in to see if they could be stretched... that was an option but the cobbler did something even better! He placed inserts in the back and extended the width an inch. The boots fit perfectly and the inserts look they came with boot. Beautiful craftsmanship! I'll be back. read more

Went in with my military dress shoes since they where coming apart. I walked in to what looked like an old school house with an older couple working the counter. The women immediately greeted me. After telling her what was wrong she asked if I had the other shoe, saying if it happened to one it was bound to happen to the other. I didn't have the other one since it wasn't happening. It was Tuesday and they quoted me Saturday pickup which was not okay seeing that I needed it for Wednesday. She got upset but after talking to the man she agreed to do it. I got my shoe around 4 and they glued it back and put in extra stitches. I wouldn't expect anything less for $12. read more

This is a great little shop whether just for a shine or any kind of shoe or leather repair. It's run by the owner and an assistant who are congenial, knowledgeable and helpful. They also cater to those in need of diabetic services, etc. I've been going there for years and highly recommend this establishment. read more

I stopped by this place during my lunch hour after calling to get location information. The person that answered the phone was very helpful. I was on break from the courthouse and time was limited. My shoes were in desperate need of repair, and this seemed like the ideal location being right up the block from the courthouse where I was coming from. I figured he got a lot of last minute business. Upon arrival I was immediately told after he reviewed my heel that he couldn't get to me today. I thought, why couldn't he have mentioned that over the phone before I got there? So I asked if he knew of a place nearby, and he replied "no, nothing close". So I left. It turns put there is another place with 5 miles. I went there and he was able to fix my heel in t minutes. He even did both heels so they would be even. Clearly this place didn't want my business. Was I on the wrong "side" of town? Hmm...*sigh* Very dissappointed. I will never patronize this business. read more

I moved to this area recently and came to this independent-sounding cobbler hoping for the great service I'd often gotten from independent local cobblers near my previous homes. Unfortunately, Mount Holly Cobbler Shop didn't meet my expectations. They took longer to do the bare minimum for a higher fee than I am accustomed -- $14-$16 for basic heel repair and a one week turnaround. Other cobblers who've worked on my shoes in locations with higher costs-of-living in midtown Manhattan and California have charged $7-$10 for heel repair and polished the shoes before returning them, sometimes even throwing in toe taps or refinishing the leather, so my shoes would look good as new -- and in 2-3 days. The Cobbler Shop just slapped on new heel tips, somewhat crookedly at that, and my shoes came back with every scratch and hint of dirt they came in with. This is also the first cobbler I've been to that collects a 50% deposit upon dropoff. Granted, they did exactly what they charged for, but I think I can get better service for less, even if I have to wait until my next trip into New York. I'll try Cherry Hill first. read more
