The Collection is a beautiful outdoor shopping center with an assortment of shops and restaurants. I have been coming here for years and it's very convenient. They offer restaurants such as Ted's Montana Grill, Atlanta Bread, Wild Wing Cafe, Chicken Salad Chick, Carabba's, etc. Some of the stores include Victoria's Secret, Loft, Talbots, and Bath and Body Works. This is such a beautiful place to visit and shop. You can park in front of most places that you are visiting. The parking lots can feel tight. There are benches placed throughout where you can take a break. There are also a number of great restaurants. If you are just wanting to window shop, this place is great for that too and you can get some great exercise as you are out walking around. I've been to The Avenue Forsyth and The Avenue East Cobb and they're both very nice outdoor shopping centers. Beautiful, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. The Avenue Forsyth is pedestrian-friendly with wide sidewalks and green spaces. It can be a good place for a laid back, relaxing walk. Since it's in the suburbs, the mall's quaint, village-like atmosphere attracts a lot of families. You'll probably bump into a lot of tweens and teens. Despite the high volume of customers, the property stays in pretty good shape. I'm not a big shopper, so I can't really comment on the retail selection. I didn't see many upscale name brands, but there were a lot of middle-of-the-road mainstream stores. Sports fans, particularly Tech and UGA fans, will appreciate Tailgaters Alley. If you like candy, check out Fuzziwig's Candy Factory. There's also a 12-screen AMC movie theater and an OK selection of restaurants including a Tin Drum Asia Cafe, Marlow's Tavern (just opened), Ted's Montana Grill, Mellow Mushroom, and Jim 'N Nick's BBQ. I'm just not a fan of this place. Normally, I only come here to go to Academy or another specialty store I cannot find in Alpharetta. Pretty much every experience here has not been great. There's a handful of good stores, but also a handful of stores that are of zero interest to me. The two things that really gripe me are: the parking area and the hordes of middle school and high school kids acting like fools. Parking is tight and trying to get back out to 400 is a pain. And the kids...today there was a group of young girls who decided to walk into a random store, plug in their straightener, and do each other's hair in the corner....seriously?!?! You know there's an actual bathroom here...right? I'll stick to North Point and Avalon. read more

Until yesterday, I had no idea this place even existed. Boy, was I missing out. Apparently "lake money" (as my boyfriend rightly termed it), knows how to shop. He had a received a birthday card in the mail from the skin care store Origins for $10 off his next purchase. The catch? It was only valid at an Origins store, not at the department store cosmetics counters. So we headed over there to redeem it at the only Origins store in the Atlanta area. And I was quite impressed when we arrived, although the Collection at Forsyth never gets any press (for reasons I can't quite understand), it's huge, sprawling and quite upscale! Here's a short list of what I saw there: an AMC movie theater, Origins, a specialty chocolatier, Sage clothing, Ann Taylor Loft, Charming Charlie, American Eagle, Claire's, Red Robin, Carraba's, a furniture store, Haagen-Daz, a day spa, a hair stylist, etc. The whole shopping plaza is outdoors with broad walkways between each section of shops with well-manicured trees and bushes lining them. In addition to all the retail stores, there's a little central plaza with benches underneath matching pergolas where they have live music during the summer weekends. Anyway, we got in, we found parking easily, we redeemed the $10 off post card from Origins and took a short stroll around the area. The Collection at Forsyth is very nice as long as the weather outside is good, but I bet when it's raining or cold, their traffic drops off significantly since there's not much protection from the elements. Aside from it being quite a bit OTP, I like the Collection, and I'd go back on a nice afternoon to walk around and browse their stores. read more

STILL NUMBER ONE FOR ME! When it comes to outdoor shopping venues in the immediate area, this is still my favorite place to visit. I prefer it to Avalon because of its easy store front parking, aesthetically pleasing design and varied lay-out. The lay-out is not boring because the stores are not located on one main street. You actually get to turn corners and walk in a variety of different directions! Right in the middle of the center, they have a nice gazebo which is perfect for people watching or enjoying your lunch. I do wish they had a different selection of restaurants and ones that feature a walk up window and grand veranda. I believe that such a restaurant would prove to be very popular here. I don't usually eat where I shop but a walk up restaurant just has great appeal to me. I am a creature of habit so when I visit, I like to go the back way along Ronald Regan and park directly in front of DSW. It is always my first stop and on my recent visit they were having a great sale. I purchased a really cute pair of sandals and talked my fellow shoppers into doing the same. I love the Barnes and Noble here as it is a great change of pace. So happy to have the Earth Fare store right next door so that I now have another reason to visit! read more

Really cute place to walk around! There's a good amount of stores and restaurants. It's definitely smaller but it's a cool place to go if you don't want to go inside a crowded mall. Definitely would recommend to look on their website if they have any stores you want to go to before going here in case you aren't interested in any of the stores they already have here. read more

Been a little while since I've been here but man this place is DEAD. Had a pie at Mellow Mushroom with some buds (and some Buds) then some of us starting walking and just said forget it this place is a ghost town. Stores are dark or totally gone. I love coming to the Avenues. I really hate malls, I always feel like a rat in a maze, but the avenues is all outside and its nice to be able to move where you want when you want. It has everything from sit down food, to quick grab and go, to video games, upscale shops, coffee, candy, and a nice movie theater. I'm a plant nerd, and the entire property is very nicely kept up and landscaped. Well lighted, and always security guards around for assistance. Con would be also that its all outside and parking can be a bit frustrating some times. read more

We live closer to Northpoint Mall or the Avenue East Cobb, but the drive time is actually the same or less just heading up 400, and we just find the outdoor environment here really inviting. The mix of stores is pretty good, but not really any comparison to Northpoint. The theater is absolutely the best one we've ever been to. I visit here mostly during the day. It can be ok to get parking, but sometimes the lunch crowd takes all of the good parking spots. There are a few decent places to eat and quite a few places to shop. I think that the area is growing, so more stores will come soon. There is a move theatre also, so I would consider here a hidden gem, but it does seem kind of missing something. It can be a ghost town or dull sometimes, I can't pin point it but its not lively. Great place to shop - beautiful stores and amazing variety. The only drawback is the Friday and Saturday night teen swarms! They roam around in packs, make messes, and disrupt the family atmosphere. Your Children's at Forsyth Urgent Care was Amazing!!! The moment we walked through the door I felt a huge weight off my shoulder. We had already visited a Doctor's office and another Urgent Care before arriving and we were frustrated and mad. They saw the gash on son's face and immediate brought him back to triage and cleaned him up, numbed his face, and sent us back out with stickers and popsicle in hand. While we waited the necessary 30 minutes for the medicine to set in that is when we filled out our paperwork. All the staff out front was polite, sweet, and asked if we need anything while we waited to let them know. After only 35-40 Minutes we got in the back with Dr. Wilies and Kaitlan. They sang to him, made him laugh, and gave him stitches without a tear, worried face, or twitching from my 3 year old son who had a cut not even a inch from his eye. They took their time and made sure he was happy! We left with another popsicle, stickers, and a dinosaur bandaid on my 3 year old smiling son. I will never take my children anywhere else. My dad who worked at another hospital talked about how amazing they were and it was worth the 50 minute drive. We were shocked to never see a tear, or worried look from my sons face. A doctor and nurse who will sing wheels on the bus in all variations to a 3 year old and make him laugh the hold time will always leave a special memory in my heart expecially since my heart was broken when entering. Dr. Wilies, Kaitlan , and Staff you are awesome and I truly Appreciate all the you did!!! read more
