The College Planning Center was a "Godsend" for us. We are raising our nephew (Alex) and we knew we needed help in figuring out all we needed to do to get him ready for college and to go through the application process. The application was difficult enough but we had no idea about needing to get him ready for the SAT and ACT testing or even why we needed to do it. One of the referrals we received from the other parents going through the same process was the College Planning Center in Folsom. After talking with a number of college planners we selected the College Planning Center when our nephew was ending his sophomore year and it was truly an amazing and very successful experience having them guide us through the entire process. The planners were experienced, knowledgeable and easy to work with both from a parent and student perspective. Looking back on our experience I cannot imagine trying to get our nephew ready for the college application process with their very valuable assistance. I can honestly say I am not sure we could have come close to the college offers Alex received without their help. His acceptance letters including schools like USC, U of W, UC Davis, Santa Clara University and a number of other UC and Cal State schools. Even after the offers started coming in we needed assistance in the acceptance process and had questions how to respond. In every case the people at the College Planning Center either answered the phones or called us back right away. They were professional, courteous and responsive. I highly recommend you not make any decision regarding college planning for your high school student without visiting and talking to them. You will be so glad you did! read more

Throughout my junior and senior years, I had the privilege of working with Rajani from The College Planning Center. As I navigated the college application season, Rajani was extremely communicative, motivating, and clear, advising me to stay organized rather than channeling my stress in unproductive ways. Whenever I had any doubts--whether it was the content I was writing in my essays, a format for a certain document, or what to include in a Letter of Continued Interest--Rajani was quick to answer my questions and keep me on track with deadlines, ensuring that I could focus most of my time on polishing the way I wanted to present my story in my application. She encouraged me not to view my reach schools as unattainable or daunting, but instead, goals I could work towards with the proper discipline and passion, sharing college-specific resources and essay feedback that helped me understand and showcase what I would bring to the colleges I was applying for. The College Planning Center was a lifesaver for us. The program helps students figure out which college will be the best for them. Counselors also help students pick out their high school classes and make sure that they are on the right track for the colleges they are aspiring to go to. The center also helped my son with his resume and essays. We were on track and had everything completed well in advance of the college application deadlines. The center provides all kinds of resources to make the college application process less complicated and less stressful. They also offer workshops and seminars and also SAT and ACT help. The structure and advising were phenomenal. We couldn't be more thrilled with our POSITIVE experience at The College Planning Center. CPC is great!!! I participate in their counselor sessions and their test prep program - and thoroughly enjoy and benefit from them both. There are many practice ACTs and SATs available and a ton of workshops to pick and choose from. Meetings with the counselor really help you learn what you what you love to do, which leads to what you want to major in. The counselors give you a list of colleges that would be a good fit for you. They even provide resume and application help, are available for practice interviews, along with being incredibly responsive through calls, email, or text. The staff have presented me with many connections and have really helped me with this confusing process of preparing to go to college. CPC is FABULOUS! We have been working with Alice for 5 years and she is worth her weight in gold.We initially met her when our eldest, now a freshman in college, was a sophomore in HS. He had taken some classes his freshman year that were not to his future educational advantage. She steered him in the right direction, helped him with his PSAT, ACT, and SAT. She also helped him with his applications and essays. He was accepted to his first choice school early! She is now working with our twins, who are sophomores. She has helped them since their freshman year guiding them on classes and future career choices. I cannot say enough about CPC and especially Alice. This center has been wonderful!The entire staff is supportive, helpful and knowledgeable. The center workshops are worth atending, and are a great idea. My planner was awsome! Alice has made this experience much easier on my family and me. She always was able to help answer my questions and support my choices during the application process. She really cares about her clients. Without her support and the center, I really do not think I would have felt confident in my applications. She also was able to work with me and my bussy scedual to ensure that we could maitain consistant meetings. I am so grateful. The College Planning Center is amazing! They offer so many seminars and helpful work shops that really do help improve our abilities. My ACT scores improved with the help and practice they provided me with and helped me figure out what i needed to study the most. My college essays wouldn't have been nearly as good as they would have been without the Centers help and advice. The counselors there are incredible- I worked with Alice all 4 years of high school and have gotten into every college I applied to with her help and guidance! We used the College Planning Center, Palladio Folsom site. Our advisor was Rajani. She was exceptional. She educated the entire family on the process, and she kept urging my daughter to stay up on everything so she would be able to apply early. Lisa was also very helpful in studying for the ACT. The College Planning site is full of information, everything from preparing essays, and filling out applications, to understand how to apply for scholarships and grants. So nice to have all the information in one spot as opposed to searching all over the internet. Our daughter has already received two acceptance letters. Thank you. read more

Alice is wonderful and I cannot recommend her and the College Planning Center more highly. She was very knowledgeable and helped my niece select 8 colleges that really excited her. My niece lived 45 minutes away from the office but Alice was very accommodating with meetings whether in person, online or by phone. The application process can become overwhelming but Alice went out of her way and made sure my niece was on top of her college submissions throughout the whole process. Alice is an incredible wealth of knowledge and knowing she is in our corner through this craziness of college planning allows me to sleep better! The Granite Bay center is beautiful and they put on very informative events. I recently attended a speaker series on careers in engineering with my son. It was a great event, tons of information and the speakers really related their experience to high school kids. Our daughter used this planning center for her last two years in high school. We thought it was a huge help! For two working parents to juggle applications and scholarships along with coaching for career paths, etc. we would have had to take vacation days to do all of this.
