The Comedy Inn I have to say has a very impressive setup, you would never know this quant little hotel was hosting private invite only night club comedy. I've been to other comedy clubs in the Miami area, most of them only have 2-3 acts sell you on low cost or free entry fee, but then get you on minimal drink purchases and over priced food. No B/S here they have an open bar option which is only a couple of dollars more then the standard ticket and get this once you're on their mailing list you get a discount code. Really can't go wrong here. I would say the place sits about 80 people so there's not a bad sit in the house. We prefer to get a sit close to the bar. Personally I get about 6-7 rounds at the show, they don't cheep you on the quality of booze either Top shelf liquor, beer and wine. We've become regulars here

I'd been meaning to come here for awhile, but I was skeptical that a 70's era hotel of dubious reputation and a lackluster restaurant could sustain a comedy club. However, when I saw that NYC based actor/comedian Andrew Schulz was headlining here, I decided to go for it and I'm very glad I did. Comedy Inn asks when you inquire about a show, to get on their "Inn-vite" email list with notifications of upcoming shows. They also give you a 10% off promo code, which negates the service fee that online ticket service Eventbrite charges. I came about 45 minutes early and quickly found close (and free) parking. You can sit in the lobby before the doors open 30 minutes prior to showtime. There are no tickets; they have your name on an e-list at the door. For an extra $10, you can upgrade to an open, premium bar. If you check in on Yelp, you can get $5 off of this, so that was great. Once inside, you can hit the bar right away. Bartender Dee, and her partner, were great. She remembered my name and my drink order (Tito's n' soda) throughout the evening...they did an outstanding job. The room itself is a conference room with fairly comfortable chairs with a capacity of about 100 guests. There aren't any "bad" seats. MC David Stebbins got the show going right on time... 2 other comedians, Dave Del Rosario and 'Cisco Duran appeared before Andrew Schulz. They were both pretty funny, and Andrew's act was filthy, depraved and outrageous, yet hysterically funny at the same time. Afterwards, as you exit out to a breezeway, you can greet the comedians as you leave. So, for $35, Comedy Inn is a GREAT value, as you get to see 3 comedians and have an open bar with the "good stuff"...I actually had a better time than when I go to the cramped confines and 2 (expensive) drink minimums of the comedy clubs in NYC! I highly recommend The Comedy Inn.

Unable to visualize where it was located, I checked online. WOW! Tucked into the warehouse district by The Falls, a theater. Intrigued, I purchased tickets online and headed for the show on a Friday night. Parking was easy. All the parking spots up front were taken but there were plenty of available spaces behind the building that involved a short walk. Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by someone that was sitting at a small table. She checked my name off the list and I then entered the small but intimate theatre. The decor was a bit like pieces found at a thrift shop which was actually fun and thought out. The audience seating by the stage were simple but comfortable. Sound and lighting was excellent. At intermission, I checked out the concession stand. The person running it was friendly and all items were reasonably priced. There was ample time to grab a snack along with proper warning before the show resumed. This theater is obviously put together with a great love of the performing arts. Glad I discovered it and wonder what took me so long..... In summary, this is a simple and fun theater where you can experience local shows with a lot of personality. I'll be back.

She loves everything about this place- from her classes, her fellow ballerinas, and her instructors. The owner, Jennifer Rose, is so passionate about ballet and cares so much about her students. Her love shines through in her dedication and everyday interactions with the students and parents who send their kids here to learn the tools of the ballet trade! They even have an incredibly fun summer camp to hone in on their skills and experience all the dance offerings the studio has to offer (we started with ballet, but after summer camp, my daughter insisted we also put her in acro- and so it was!) I think my favorite thing about this studio is that it really focuses on dance instead of competition; it seems like a lot of dance studios in Miami claim to be the best but they're really just loud and showy and unnecessarily expensive. If you want a quality dance education, South Florida Ballet should be your only stop.

Good food, great company, and of course belly dancing! Since then, I have had my eye on belly dancing. Call it a bucket list item if you will. I can finally say that thanks to Belly Motions I tried it. I signed up via ClassPass for their 10 AM Fundamentals class. My instructor was Alexandra. She was so lively, full of energy and pep. Felt more like being with a friend than an instructor. The Fundamentals class is essentially Belly Dancing 101. You know - your standard intro class. In it, you do some stretches, learn about locking and popping, but most importantly: the shimmy! When in doubt, shimmy. Actually I think that might be what one of their shirts say, but it's super true. For my first class, they let me borrow a sash (or is it a coin belt?). It was so pretty that once class was over, I bought my own, because I am going back. That and admittedly I have a bunch of workout equipment at home. It motivates me. Anyway, Miss Emilia was heading the front desk and she was very sweet. Miss Luisa was teaching the little ones, as apparently they also teach kids. There's a show now on Saturday. I doubt I will get to go as I already have plans, but from what I was told, they do several a year. Because of this show, they're closed this next weekend (which is rare). Still, I'm anxiously waiting for ClassPass to open for Saturday, March 14th. I want to go back and dance. This was just so ridiculously fun, but more so, empowering. Dare I say it? You feel like a goddess!

Our daughter, now a 9-year-old girl on the spectrum who loves art and music in an incredible way, started her journey with Area Stage in mid-2024 by taking private lessons with Annette, an amazing instructor at Area Stage. Under Annette's guidance and patience, our daughter improved tremendously and was able to perform in three showcases where she sang and danced alongside other children. This success did not come without challenges. Raising and supporting a child on the spectrum can be very difficult. From meltdowns and lack of attention to struggles with taking turns and stimming, families connected to autism understand these behaviors can be caused by many factors such as inflexibility or sensory overload, which are often misunderstood by neurotypical people as misbehavior or poor parenting. Fortunately, everywhere we have gone to help improve our daughter's behavior and skills, we have been blessed with people who truly understand autism and know how to support autistic children, just like Annette did. That changed on May 14th, 2026, when our daughter's instructor had an emergency and could not attend class, so a substitute instructor was assigned to the ITP class. Our daughter had a rough day during class and, as we were told, she was not following directions and was being disruptive. She was repeatedly told not to do certain things because they were "not allowed," as if that alone has ever been an effective way to regulate or support a child on the spectrum. Our daughter was in deep distress, as she often becomes when something triggers a shutdown. Her behavior escalated to the point that the Director of Inspired Theatre Project, Irma Becker, stepped in and told her she was misbehaving, that wh. This is a 1 hour class. Meanwhile, I, her father, was sitting outside waiting for the class to finish. Once the time was up, I approached the door where the children exit from, but no one came out. As I got closer, I heard, "So who's coming to pick up this child today?" To my surprise, it was Irma asking who was picking up my daughter. When I explained that I was her father, Irma approached me aggressively and explained that my daughter did not want to participate and that she was a "mean girl" who pushed her multiple times while she was trying to get her to follow directions. My daughter was listening to everything Irma was saying because they were standing next to each other. While Irma discussed my daughter's behavior with me, my daughter became even more overwhelmed, yelling and completely out of control. I told Irma that I would talk to my daughter later at home, but she continued escalating the situation. In the middle of the chaos, she told me that we needed to discuss next year's enrollment because of my daughter's behavior, although she still had to commit to participating in this year's showcase. I was speechless and asked, "Do you even know that my daughter is on the spectrum?" In response, Irma began listing her titles and degrees in behavioral therapy, completely contradicting herself through her own behavior. It is truly sad that someone like this could be in charge of a program such as this one. We formally contacted ownership via email to explain the situation, hoping to schedule a meeting, discuss possible solutions, and receive an apology. Instead, we were told that after conducting an investigation with the people present, ownership concluded that Irma never said anything inappropriate about our daughter. Additionally, our daughter was removed from the inclusive program entirely only two weeks before her showcase. During a call with ownership regarding our email, the owner himself told us that he believed the problem with our daughter was that she was "not used to hearing no." Imagine saying that about a child on the autism spectrum, as if simply hearing "no" were ever a solution for autism-related behaviors. This was coming from someone who has never spent even a second with our daughter, yet still felt comfortable giving an opinion about her behavior. What I see here is a major red flag. When someone reports misconduct, unethical behavior, or unprofessional conduct and their concerns are immediately dismissed or denied, it creates an environment where that behavior can continue unchecked and potentially lead to even more serious problems. It is like calling a police department to report misconduct by the chief of police, only for the person making the complaint to be punished for speaking up. Thank you for creating a program that helps so many students with special needs. I truly hope this experience serves as an opportunity for growth and improvement so the program can become even more inclusive moving forward.
