Then, while we waited for our candles to set, we went down and had ice cream. It was a fun and easy way to have a party. Everyone we interacted with from the Enchanted Wik was really nice and helpful. The thing that was the hardest was choosing the scents we wanted for our candles! There were soooo many choices! Plus, we were encouraged to mix and match scents to our liking! That made it even more interesting as we all liked checking out the combinations that the rest of our party came up with! My scents were lemon, two types of evergreen, and oud wood. Love how it turned out. The only improvement I'd suggest is to be more flexible with the minimum number of candles needed to book a party. We were a party of 8, but needed to make a minimum of 10 candles. It was an awkward position to be placed in. How could we fairly choose which two people could make the extra candles? It would have been easier to have a minimum price since I could have just told everyone to make the larger candles to meet the minimum price requirement. If I was still under, I could have purchased some other items in the store.

Also worth noting...they're very "stroller" friendly. With all the "things" one could "bump over" or "knock off"...they just welcome you in and ask how they can help! I was able to get a couple nice things for myself as well as a great gift for a friend back home who dog sat my furry companion. The store is pretty big and virtually every inch has something interesting to consider buying. I wish the online store featured more of the items actually sold in store because I'd probably buy a cactus for myself after seeing the one I bought my friend. The salesperson also gave us some tips on where to visit while we were in the area. She was really friendly and a great resource for us. If you only get a chance to visit one gift shop in the area I'd say this one is your best bet!

I'm going to make a small house payment on a gift, right? Wrong! I came across these tiles there. It was already on my mind that I wanted something with a roadrunner on it. I knew my dad would display something with a roadrunner proudly. After all, since they aren't in Kentucky, I don't think he has ever seen one. Even in Albuquerque, I only saw two! I ended up with a tile with the shape of a roadrunner on it. Honestly, I almost wanted to keep the gift for myself. This is a great shop to find a quick and inexpensive gift for someone back home. This visit was gift buying, but on future visits, I wouldn't mind having a few items from this store myself. It was made even better by my dad hanging the tile as soon as I gave it to him!

Driving by, I had so many questions: Was this a local effort, benefitting local farmers or charitable organizations? I mean, it just seemed so random. In my experience, pumpkin patches take place on farms, or they're organized by church groups, providing a sort of down home country experience, with hay rides and pig races, that sorta thing. So when I got home, I checked out their website, and now that we've visited, here's my understanding of this, um, experience: + Not local, "Seasonal Adventures is currently the largest privately owned pumpkin and Christmas tree retailer in the country." Yes, we're getting a Christmas tree farm in November, evidently. + Doesn't benefit local farmers, the pumpkins are shipped out of Ventura, California. + Not seeing anything benefitting any charity, but I'll throw in this asterisk: This company does try to accommodate people with special needs. That's important, because many kids and adults simply cannot attend festivities like these, due to sensory issues. Good job, guys. That said, my inner swindle skeptic is hollering flim-flam after dropping $60 on two kids during just one hour. A trip down an inflatable slide, just one, cost a dollar. Games were free, but prizes -- every kid wins -- were poor quality and pricey, a plastic beach ball ran three bones. The cost of a pumpkin? Starting at $11. In the end, this didn't deliver any of the charm of a legit autumn festival, it was understaffed, and we felt deceived. At the same price point you can spend a day at McCall's, and support a great local farm.

Show me a starship…read moreenterprise pizza cutter, or a millennium falcon bottle opener...a severed wampa arm ice scraper or a set of planetary tumbler glasses...a tardis coffee cup or some other unnecessary self indulgent nerdy tchotchke, and I'm giddy as a kiddie in a candy store. Couldn't stop smiling walking around this shop, and that's what it's all about folks...this is a great local business offering lots of trinkets, odds and ends, unique gifts and random novelty goodness. Lots of high quality games, high grade soaps and incense, and interesting doodads. I was smitten by the paper star lamps above, will have to return for those...meanwhile, I left with a box of fancy matches for moi and a solar spider for my son. What a hoot!
