I came here after my screen went out in my Mac. Very friendly staff with accurate quotes & time frames. They even had to order a part yet my computer was still fixed in less than a week! My computer went down. It turned out to be a mechanical problem. It wouldn't come on. I have a service contract with one of the Big Box Chains, the Techs are "Nerds". I took it to them. They had me give them my password (uh oh). Two days later they told me to come get it. When I got there, (by the way, you have to make an appointment a day ahead), they told me they couldn't access it and I should just buy a new one. My computer is a MacBook Pro with a 15" screen. Not exactly a cheap machine. They said it might be the logic board and if so it could cost in excess of $400.00. I asked them where the closest Apple Factory store might be. They said maybe Baton Rouge. I took my nonfunctioning computer home. I stewed about it. I called the customer service center of the Big Box (notice the double B's) and got the run around. In fact, they "inadvertently" disconnected me. They took my phone number and said they would call if we got disconnected. They didn't call. I was trying to figure out why I paid for a service contract just to be told go buy a new one. I'm cancelling the service contract. I went on line and found The Computer Store at 1300 Schillinger Road. Went there. Richard took the machine. I asked if he needed the password. He said no. I left. He called back 30 minutes later told me what was wrong. It was the mother board. Said he could repair it for a $115.00. I said OK. ( I was thrilled). He called back about 45 minutes later told me to come pick it up. When I got there he handed me my computer and said for me to fire it up. It popped to life immediately. He said that it would be a whole lot faster now. He explained why but I really didn't understand the tech talk. When I got home and fired it up, I noticed how much faster it was. It was like the difference between a 1953 Plymouth and a 2022 Lamborghini Huracan EVO. All I can say is that I am ecstatic about how Richard at The Computer Store took care of my problem. Quick service. Brought in broken MacBook Pro screen and they had it ready the next day exactly when they said they would. Since they are the closest or only authorized apple dealer around I pretty much have to use them, but now at least I'm happy about it. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service and a nightmare experience. My 7th grade daughter has a 13 inch MacBook Air that needed a battery replacement. The computer would only work while physically plugged into the charger. This is not an ideal situation for school use and with exams on the horizon, we took her computer to the closest authorized Apple repair shop, The Computer Store on April 13, 2017. We explain the problem, the woman working the counter enters the serial number and says that the battery will be $169.00 to order. She said it would take 5 business days to get it in and when they called, we would have 24 hours to bring the computer in or they would have to return the battery. We said OK, paid for the battery and left. 10 days later, we still had heard nothing. I called and inquired about the battery, they said they would call back. They did not. Two days later, I called them back and again they said they would research it and call me back. When they finally called on April 27th, they said that the serial number had been transposed on our initial visit and they had entered the computer as a 2015 MacBook Pro which does not have a replaceable battery and that my daughter's computer was a 2015 MacBook Air and that "in the confusion they had just put the order aside and forgotten about it." He said they would order the battery for overnight shipping and it would be at the store on Friday or on Saturday by the latest and that I could drop her computer off and it would be ready on Saturday by 2:00pm. Cue to Monday morning (May 1st), I call to let them know I am on the way to pick up the computer and they tell me the battery never came in. I go to the store anyway to get the computer. The tech says the battery "may be next door at Anchor Storage since they weren't there for the FedEx delivery" and it will take 5 minutes once they have the battery. So I leave and wait for a call. Well 2 hours later the tech calls and the battery was not in the package and apparently "Apple has delayed all of their shipments due to the amount of parts they have been ordering recently"---DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. They are incompetent and totally unprofessional. I have no idea how they became Apple certified to do anything. The fact that Apple won't even ship them parts, makes me think that Apple is doubting their relationship with The Computer Store as well. We still haven't managed to get the computer repaired or even an apology from this business. read more

my system was accidentally set on a wet counter top. the syster was fine for a few hours, suddenly the screen went out. the system would power up with no display. i called apple support, after talking to the technician, he referred me to a local authorized apple repair store. i took my computer to the computer store located in mobile, ala. i was told the logic board was damaged with corrosion. he gave me a verbal estimate stating the part would cost aroung 400.00 and 1 hour labor, total parts and labor 500.00. i oked the repair. when i picked up the computer and received the invoice i notice the part was only 280.54, and he charged the labor to 2 hours to bring the price up to 500.00. when i question the technician, he could not explain the cost of repair. i called apple and was told they would have charged 325.00 to replace a logic board. if you have a problem with your apple produce i suggest you mail it to apple for repair. this store will take advantage of you. read more

My experience was absolutely horrendous! It took them over a week to even look at my computer, and when they finally looked at it I had to wait another week and a half to get it back. When I got it back the issue, which is my keyboard, was worse than when I brought it in. I opened my laptop to find the keyboard wavy and keys coming off. When I brought it back they again weren't going to look at it for several days. After a conversation with the manager he agreed to look at it and have it fixed by Monday. When I got it back, the keyboard is still wavy, keys are still coming off, and now a few keys are sticking so bad that I have to almost hit them to make them work. Needless to say I would never recommend bringing your computer here unless you want to get it back in worse condition than it already is, and spend more money taking it somewhere else to fix their mistakes! read more
