The week we stayed it was about mid to upper 70's. The lake was quiet not a lot of boat traffic. There was plenty of fishing and relaxing on the lake. The owners Rachel and Travis were friendly and helpful. They have all the necessities available for purchase which was great considering town was quite a drive. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing week, this is the perfect spot!!

Rachel and Travis really are the owners that care about making this a place that people love to visit and return again and again. During the years we have stayed here, there have been many regulars that have not returned and I know one problem has been with the previous owner. Now is the time to give it another try and I am sure you will be more than happy with the "New Spider Shores". We have just returned from our recent stay and I have to admit that this has been probably the best stay in a long time. Even all the little improvements have not gone unnoticed. One important thing Travis told me that I feel tells a lot about the direction of the resort. He said "it is only going to get better" and I think that says it all. For us, we like the setting and the lake itself and it just adds so much having owners like Rachel and Travis. We wish them a ton of success in this new adventure!

From the fully-stocked, well-maintained cabins to the great fishing, there is something for every member of the family to enjoy. They sponsor daily activities for the kids, a clean beach with numerous watercrafts (kayaks, paddle boards, floating raft, etc), a dock attendant, and a beautiful lodge stocked with bait, fishing, food and clothing. We enjoyed nightly campfires and the sunsets and starry night sky views were amazing. This is the perfect place to enjoy family time and make memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.

That child is now a junior in college. Bill and Gail (the owners) are like family. In fact, when Bill's Dad, Bob passed away a few years ago, I felt the loss. When my son graduated from high school, he immediately joined the service as he was significantly impacted by 9/11. Our week ended at the end of the 1st week of August, but he was not to report to the military until December. I've never seen him so happy (and my wife so sad) as when Bill call a day after we came home asking if it would be OK if Matt were to return to work at Bowen's for the remainder of the season. I'm sure our kids will continue to go to Bowen's long after I'm dead and gone. It's just that kind of place. Your own little bit of heaven on earth.

The room had 2 queen beds, a mini fridge, a large sink area, and small dining set. Excellent water pressure in the shower! The kids used the whirlpool and loved it- nice and large and clean with a game room that kept them entertained. The store is so cute and has anything you could need available for purchase. The staff here was accommodating and MN NICE. Giving 4 stars due to the floors being a bit chilly - bring slippers if staying in the winter! And you can hear footsteps from the room above. Other than that- it's a decent place and far exceeded my expectations.
