They were more than accommodating, helpful, friendly and full of knowledge about Pelican Lake and the surrounding areas. I came with my boyfriends family who have been fishing for 30+ years. These past four years I fish regularly and really like it...but now I get it-and I love it. The Lake will make you a fisherman. The sun is up at 5a and doesn't set until almost 10p on some nights. When it's too hot try out the putting (it's pretty challenging and well maintained) They have Frisbee Golf, a bike boat, canoes and some great places to sit, relax and enjoy the view and sounds of Orr, MN. I was very comfortable and felt very safe. If you need anything town is just 15 minutes away. Each cabin has a BBQ and some come with a dock (we were lucky ours had one) I wish I had more time than a week. I just went into the lodge for the first time right before we left and it was amazing. Added some Italian dishes to and already nice menu with steaks fish and chicken. Some nice improvements on the outside seating area too. I love the new bar area. It's got a great vibe "Everybody at the bar gettin' tipsy" and such a nice selection to choose from. "Someone pour me up a double shot of whiskey. They know me and Jack Daniels got a history". But know your limit because "One, here comes the two to the three to the four" .... We sat in whirlpool, but the rooms floors where black/white and when we attempted to go into the pool, we walked out a.s.a.p. because of the brown floors that also needed scrubbing. Ugghhh! When I told the concierge, she said, " Well they change the water every day". I reminded her that it is not enough and I'm posting pictures.

The living room area and kitchen where very large and you could make this your base camp while exploring the area if you wish to and make a full meal to avoid the expenses of eating out for a family. The water slide and pool area where great for the kids and mom and dad to have fun. The breakfast in the morning was amazing!! The staff was super friendly and did everything possible to make our stay great. We had dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel and couldn't have been more happy. The prime rib was perfect, the Salmon was cooked perfectly. Even the kids mac n cheese was done well and not Kraft out of the box and the pizza was nice and crispy. The not kids item that was just normal was the chicken strips. We will be back! We will be back.

They also have free bike rentals, a great sand volleyball court, horseshoes, basketball, tennis and pickle ball. And if the lake is warm enough, there is a waterslide in the lake which looked fun. We were here Memorial Day weekend, and the weather was beautiful our first day, so we took out the paddleboards, and that was fun. The weather got chilly quickly, so I didn't have the opportunity to try the rest of the amenities. The pool is currently closed for construction. (There is a nice pool at the YMCA in Grand Rapids which we used one day for a $10 day pass). We stayed in a two bedroom lakefront cabin which was nice, but fairly rustic, and one of the bedrooms had absolutely no storage, (no closet, shelves or dresser). Next time, I think we would stay in the lodge rooms, which are a bit more upscale, with fireplaces, full kitchens, Jacuzzi tub and nicer furnishings. They have a restaurant/bar on site with a an outdoor patio and nice view of the lake, which is convenient. They also have free coffee and muffins in the morning at the front desk and at Otis's.The staff and management were incredibly helpful, friendly and accommodating. I definitely recommend, and look forward to coming here again, hopefully when the weather is a little warmer!
