I was…read morewalking down the street when I noticed a little visual of beautiful crystals down a shallow staircase. I forced my Mom to go in with me. We were completely smitten with the vast selection of crystals and other stones. If you are into crystal healing or crystals as art, you're going to be in heaven. I may be so bold as to say that All Matters has the best selection for crystal healing stones I've ever seen. They're untreated, intricately labeled with instruction cards (so appreciated) and come in all forms ranging from raw chunks to tumbled stones and pieces of jewelry. I purchased a few for myself and a few as gifts and they were so nicely wrapped. They also had various salt lamps and other decorative accessories such as crystal candle votives and artwork, but I was so laser focused on the gorgeous and robust crystal selection, which contained even rare stones that are hard to find. The shop owners were very friendly and chatty - they told me they were celebrating 20+ years! They also had the most adorable senior pup, Jasper, chilling behind the counter. I'm so glad I walked downstairs to discover this absolutely wonderful spot! I will be back all the time.

In chatting with him, I learned that they have a Native American source who had her own shop for many years until her health brought her to Cleveland. She also blesses and cleanses everything before the shop gets them. It is so clear that the owners care about providing quality items that will be helpful for their customers, not just selling product. We have wanted to visit the "Kent State University Museum" for a long time and never seemed to get…read morearound to it. Well today we made a point to get it done. Now all I can think is, "What took us so long"! Kent, Ohio is a cute town, surrounding a beautiful University campus. It is a pleasure to drive through and very easy to navigate. We arrived at the museum this morning which is FREE on Sunday. A nice contemporary building on the campus. Easy to park, easy to enter, and easy to get around. Upon entering you are greeted by a friendly face at the reception desk that is more than happy to answer any questions and provide directions. It is layed out on the main and 2nd floors on both sides of the central hall. The exhibits are absolutely beautiful. They included clothing through the century, jewelry, glass & ceramics, and designs from the university fashion design department. As well as a fabulous exhibit by artist LeRoy Neiman. Everything is exceptionally beautiful. After you spend plenty of time exploring the museum you'll have no problem finding a nice place to relax, eat and have drinks in town. We had a marvelous time today and I'm confident you will too. Do yourself a favor and visit the "Kent State University Museum"... It's amazing.

The emphasis is on fashion, and I especially liked the history timeline. The purse collection in the hallway is colorful and fun. The quilts were stunning and displayed in a bright and spacious gallery with a mirrored view. There's an admission fee most days but Sunday was free. The museum isn't big, but it has a very professional feel and includes a gift shop sells works made by students, and the building is very attractive and located right on campus. The Ukrainian Museum in the historic Ukrainian Village of Cleveland bares testimony to the strong…read moreinfluence of the Ukrainian diaspora in Cleveland and the United States. Significant museum holdings document the life and development of Ukrainian immigrants and their contributions to America, as well as ongoing worldwide developments in the present day. Of particular interest to many will be the extensive catalog collection of Ukrainian Pysanky eggs, which are categorized by region of Ukraine. Each region having distinctive decorative differentiations that relate to local customs, traditions, familial and belief structures. Housed in a separate building to the rear of the main museum, which is a house, is a meeting facility where lectures and presentations are frequently given. Ukrainian community meetings are also held here. This building houses collections of Ukrainian artwork, and an extensive historic library of books by Ukrainian authors, historic Ukrainian language, newspapers, and other publications from both Ukraine and United States. In a slow but steady manner, this collection is in the midst of a digitization process. The holdings are extensive, and so I would expect that this will take a significant amount of time and resource to accomplish. A gift shop is operated which contains a variety of cultural items, pysanky egg making supplies, books, and literature, jewelry, and clothing. There is a large historic park just across the street from the museum. Many historic buildings are in the neighborhood and it is worth some time to drive or walk around to have a look at them. This will give visitors a great feel for what being a member of the Ukrainian community has been like historically.

I was not disappointed, and found lots of bizarre, creepy, and humorous pieces. They had many prints available in a modest price range, so it's the kind of place to keep in mind for actual shopping, not just entertainment/browsing. They are also prepping a back room to offer classes in the future.
