As a Ukrainian-american who recently moved to Tremont, I love having this museum so close by. I've been few times already! The museum has about two floors as well as a rotating exhibit located in the building behind the house. The house includes exhibits about traditional Ukrainian homes, pysanky (ukie eggs), paintings, and lots of history about Ukrainians immigrants in Cleveland. It has a very in depth oral history taking project documenting the lives of various Ukrainians during WW2. It also serves as an archive collecting artifacts so it's preserved from destruction, as well as can serve as a library for scholars in the community. As a result of such a large collection, it can't all be displayed. The house itself hasn't changed much in what they exhibit as far as I noticed. The building in the back does change and has had some very interesting stuff like a National Geographic Ukrainian train station portrait series. You pretty much are free to explore all the rooms on your own, but if you have any questions, I recommend asking the individuals working there as they are always happy to talk to someone. The gift shop is my favorite- perfect place to get a starter pysanka making kit, or any cool tryzub jacket or sweater. Google map hours are accurate- closed Monday and Sunday. Did i mention it's free? But please donate or buy something to support the Ukrainian community!

Very informative museum documenting the history of Ukrainian immigrants to the United States and greater Cleveland area. Consists of a front house museum with Ukrainian art, literature, clothing, cultural artifacts and archived documents. An exhibition hall lies in the back with monthly exhibits for visitors. Examples of exhibits include Ukrainian Women in Train Stations, a Chernobyl Exhibition, and Ukrainian Regional Rugs.

Wonderful pysanky class offered here. Great coffee shop down the street too, which all made for a fun afternoon get together.

Cafe is also definitely geared more towards the kids tastes compared to other museum cafes in the area, which makes sense. Lots of chicken tenders, grilled cheese, burgers, etc. Some of the animals outside did seem kind of anxious, which made me feel a little sad for them. Lots of pacing. However I think it may be because it was their feeding time.

I've been to my fair share of natural history museums, and while this one is compact, it is very modern and packs a punch! When you enter, you're immediately greeted by a giant dinosaur and that set the tone for the whole visit, I felt like I kept seeing dinosaur bones everywhere! It took me a moment to orient myself to the museum layout, but looking back it's pretty compact and I could've easily wandered and enjoyed most of the museum in a couple hours. I especially enjoyed how interactive the earth section was, and this is silly but sit on those rock-looking cushions - they are SO comfortable! The little planetarium area was also very cool, and I would consider seeing a show in there next time! The dioramas are by far the most beautiful/engaging I've seen, and with between the fish video cave and the outdoor animal area, I felt like I also got a mini trip to the aquarium and the zoo. Overall I had an amazing time and this spot is super baby/toddler friendly! Note: If you have ASTC membership, admission is included! As a non museum member, I'd recommend street parking. It's much cheaper than the flat rate garage fare.

Bottom line up front - it's totally worth a visit. It's easy to get there, and because it was a weekday, we had no issue finding parking on a side street nearby. Plan on spending 3 hours or more. It really would've been nice to see more of the documentaries that were playing. We just had time to consume a bit of them. There's a lot to admire and learn. What they've managed to pull together is impressive. I can't imagine all that goes into dealing with estates, copyrights, on and on. The interactive experience -- where you can pick up a guitar, hop on a drum set, take to a mic in a studio - is really entertaining. The massive exhibit on SNL was great. Whoever edited the video of all of the performers is truly a master. It was excellent. BUT - we kept feeling like there were so many artists who were left out. There was almost nothing of Elton John, Freddie Mercury, David Bowie, U2, Bob Dylan, Carole King, Blondie, and quite a list of others. Neither of us uses Spotify, so we couldn't listen to (via QR code you scan) numerous coordinating play lists that went with exhibits. Not sure if they have the staff or not, but there was no special exhibit set up to honor the late mega-star, Hall of Famer Dolly Parton - just a tiny, sad table at the front of the gift shop that the escalators funnel you directly into in order to exit the museum. The staff who greet you barely say a word and don't even give you an exhibits map. No friendly advice on which way to go, etc. We liked the exhibit focused on "revolutionary women," but again, if you go to the trouble of acquiring a performer's outfit/costume, you should expend a little more energy & get a really nice picture -- or even better, some video (!!) al-- of that person in the outfit! How about some stories behind the costumes? A little spotlight on who made it, why the performer chose it, etc. Unless we missed it, there was little to nothing about the legendary people behind the scenes --- the producers, like George Martin (the "5th Beatle"), Phil Spector, Mutt Lange, etc. Again, we enjoyed ourselves, but it could've been so much better.

Their family home is the main draw, and it looks exactly as it did in the film complete with the major award in the window. We came to Lorraine Ohio for a girls dance competition, and had an afternoon off. This museum is like no other I've ever visited. We started at the gift shop what an amazing display of artifacts, memorabilia, and Christmas decor, much of it styled out of the 1940s era. While there we had a pleasure of meeting the young lady who played the part of Santa's elf at Higby's department store. She had returned for a reunion weekend with a cast from the movie. The neighborhood looks very much the same the scenes in the movie. The house itself is beautifully restored inside and out. Unlike other museums, this one is extremely interactive. I crawled underneath the kitchen sink and had my kids take photos of me. My granddaughter put Randy's bib around her neck and gobbled away at a dinner plate. Upstairs we rattled around through the bedrooms, the bathroom (the decoder ring was sitting on the sink). I highly recommend this museum!

The selection of art work and pieces are sparse but it is a small museum. I visited on a Sunday afternoon in September 2021 with 2 friends. We all enjoyed our time browsing the museum. The staff member that we encountered was helpful. There is an upstairs and a downstairs section. Exhibits are forever changing as in a typical museum so I hope to visit again. Hours are limited and so is parking. There is a small paid parking lot right in front of the museum. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 153/250 total reviews in 2026 - 994 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 9 July 2026
