I skate at this park all the time (I go often enough to have a membership), and love it. I'm thrilled their cafe is becoming more established. They've recently really been focusing on this part of their business, and the seating area has pretty much quadrupled in the last month. They have a steady coffee menu (I had a nice Americano this morning) and also have some food items (appealing to both kids and adults, with chicken fingers, pizza, a Turkey pesto sandwich, grilled cheese, bagels w/ cream cheese, muffins, plus other snacks like breakfast bars, candy, chips, etc). They are constantly working to make the space welcoming for everyone, and literally building things left and right. I love how much work they put into it and all the staff here are stellar human beings!!

Feels good knowing all this stuff won't go to waste instead of haunting me in storage bins forever. More Therapy is probably my next stop because clearly I have a very specific talent for buying things I do not need.

As middle Tennessee's only volunteer center, HON serves as the volunteer staffing organization for so many charities who need the help. Everyone knows that charities can't run without (1) money and (2) volunteers. Every September, thousands of HON volunteers descend on Metro Nashville Schools to pour hundreds of thousands of dollar's worth of time into doing much needed maintenance to the system facilities. In the horrific flood of 2010, HON stepped up as the hero organization, providing relief in almost every facet. Full disclosure, I am on the board. I serve on the board because I believe it in so much. HON is financially sound and run like a well-oiled machine by its staff and executive team. If you're a volunteer, just log in to the website and enter the system. You'll be amazed by the opportunities, training and diversity of events. I love that they have kits for kids (or even adults) to learn how to do certain crafts, like a beginner small quilt, crochet, learn to sew, pizza box crafts, and more. Everything was organized into tubs, labeled, and very easily accessible. I loved their selection of vintage appliqués! They also have grab bag style assortment of things for a variety of crafts (junk journaling, scrapbooking, key chain kits). My kids loved looking around! Since hiring them over a year ago, my account has been handed off to more than 14 different people, and my taxes are still not complete. The constant turnover has resulted in poor communication, repeated requests for the same information, and a complete lack of accountability. They would often take weeks to respond, and every delay came with another excuse about missing documentation, even though I had already provided the requested documents multiple times. I repeatedly asked for a phone call, and it took nearly three weeks just to receive a response to that request. When I finally requested a refund, it was because my taxes had become late due to their failure to complete the work or even file an extension on my behalf. As a result, I am now facing thousands of dollars in penalties and back taxes. What makes this even more frustrating is that this is a nonprofit that I personally fund out of my own pocket to rescue and care for horses in need. Instead of receiving the professional service I paid for, I have been left dealing with financial consequences caused entirely by their delays and lack of follow-through. This experience has been incredibly frustrating, unprofessional, and financially damaging. I cannot recommend this company to anyone.
