Not having to wait long for our order, we sat in our corner and enjoyed what was a great bakery snack, with a great coffee and apparently what was the best banana smoothie my friend has ever had. We had absolutely nothing to complain about whilst having a feed/drink here, which is something we like to do! We even indulged on what was one of the softest and freshest doughnuts I have ever had from a random cafe! Well done House Cafe Bakery, well done.

Situated adjacent Grange Beach, this bakery has capacity to sit inside or out, and with the doors and windows wide open, both offer an opportunity to soak up the sea breeze and the sounds of the seaside. The cakes and pastries all looked so fresh and inviting and the recipients of my takeaway cakes attest to the fact they were as delicious as they looked! I also witnessed a few examples of great customer service to other customers, whilst I was in there. I was greeted so warmly and the staff members were smiling and friendly. The decor is light and airy, stylish and clean and there is ample parking nearby. I think it would be a perfect place to refuel after a beachside bike ride!

They make tasty looking homemade pizzas, but they're always really expensive, like 8.50 for a small one. I do mean small. They also don't have much variety in their breads, unless you want it crusty and white, of which they have plenty. Their sweets are worth looking out for, as they will be displayed on the front table under quaint little fly covers. I got an enormous chocolate croissant here today for $2, and that basically made my afternoon. Their muffins taste like good home baking, and are well-sized for $3.50. Also, their pies are nice and cheap, and while nothing special, they're handy for a grab and run.

I was fortunate to meet Nidhi at the MasterChef auditions and even though we are now friends I hope this review isn't considered biased. I did pay for my meal and it was absolutely delicious. As the famous chef Marco Pierre White raved about Nidhi's lamb curry on the show it wasn't hard to choose that particular dish from the menu. At $14.50 a serve, provided in a handy microwaveable container I chose to eat at the shopping centre instead of bringing it home for dinner. The lamb curry was full of flavour and the meat instantly shredded from slow cooking, served with basmati rice, pickle and absolutely delicious crisp potato chips. I chose a serving of garlic naan ($3) too and Nidhi rolled the dough in front of me and cooked it fresh. Everything is homemade even the drinks. Served with love for sure and Nidhi's big smile. I'll be back soon to have a Lamb Kofta Burger.

In addition to being very entertaining, Rilka was a fount of nutritional information and freely gave tips on healthier substitutions for ingredients and invited questions and feedback throughout the class. Another HUGE plus was that she took a backseat while we, the students, did the cooking. Learning by doing!! I would recommend taking a class or three from her as I can assure you it will be well worth your while. Your waistline will thank you!

They serve breakfast from 8 until 12 week days, and until 2pm on Saturday. Their breakfast menu is standard, but the food is fresh and hearty. While their foccacias look good and have a tasty range of fillings, they end up being a little small. Mine came out, stacked elegantly one half leaning off the other, looking sadly small and lonely on the plate. I had the prosciutto and cream cheese option, and they're generous on the pig! They use a very thick and tasty type of prosciutto, which went well with the cream cheese and baby spinach leaves. I finished feeling almost satisfied, which I didn't mind, because it meant I could get myself cake later on. I was pleased to find that they do a great coffee - strong and smooth, not too hot, and a generous size. Definitely the best coffee to be had in this centre. Their "Happy Hour" is one for the oldies - from 2.30pm to 3.30pm they have coffee and cake for $6.50 and coffee and biscuit for $4.50. Any later and people won't be sleeping that night. It's a cute little cafe, and does good, simple food at good prices.

I really like how the meals weren't soy based which you get a lot in vegan/vegetarian places, but all the meals are very healthy and thoughtfully made. The coffee was great too, they make a beautiful almond milk coffee and they said they make their almond milk in house which is amazing. This would be a great place not just for vegans/vegos but everyone its very welcoming. I wish we had a great little place like this in Sydney!

The service was alright, I got the vibe that the staff were all good friends hanging out rather than working. Nonetheless we were given table service and were treated nicely. I ordered avocado smash and it was amazing. The presentation was wonderful (as you can see from the pic) and the cashew cheese, tipped with pine nuts made such a good combination with the avocado. The bread was delicious and they were very generous with the avocado, leaving me more than satisfied. I also ordered a hot cacao which was quite unlike an other hot chocolate I've had before. It had a distinct cocoa taste rather than being very sweet and creamy which I suppose is what you from using cacao vs melted chocolate. My name is Chloe and I love brunch…read more Don't get me wrong, lunch and dinner have their place in every social calendar but brunch allows you the guilty pleasure of an extra hour of sleeping in on a weekend, saving $$ on consuming 1 meal instead of 2 and drinking multiple cups of coffee in one sitting. I have swooped down on Hawker St Cafe a couple of times for breakfast with friends and have never been disappointed. Breakfast comes in make-your-own or pick from a few menu item form. So far my highly recommended dish is the Zucchini and Corn Fritters with crème fraîche, avocado and a salsa and rocket salad. For $15 you get 2 large, fluffy and tasty fritters on a bed of salad that gives your mouth a little zing in the morning. A smooth bonsoy coffee left me with liquid-envy when I realised I could have ordered it in mug size instead of standard, but I have learned my lesson. The inside is simple and the place doesn't try too hard, it just is genuinely cool. A student share-house kind of feel, everyone seems to be a local or a regular and the outdoor tin shed and grapevine patio just amplifies the laid back vibe of the place.

I was only there for few minutes as I was on my way to meet a friend, but I found the service to be prompt and very friendly, it was easy to have a casual chat with everyone there (including the workmen - although I suspect they're not permanent fixtures). The to chocolate was delicious and was just what I needed on that cold afternoon.
