TERRIBLY RUDE & INDIFFERENT CUSTOMER SERVICE…read more We went for lunch, ordered fish and chips and ordered pasty to take-away in advance to save time as we were in rush. However, we were told that only after paying for lunch, they could put pasty in oven!! We were eating lunch, hence, no one is going to run away without paying. I ate quickly and paid for lunch + pasty and asked me to go outside and wait for it while my family is still upstairs, not finished yet. I was told that it is different price for eat-in and take-away!! Ridiculous, I cannot eat pasty anymore after fish & chip. DO NOT BOTHER - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, PRICY AND NOT VERY GOOD FOODS EITHER. There are plenty of restuarants at town-center/ near train- station, right on the beach.

The location and the ambiance are fantastic. The food, however is not good. My dining partner…read moreordered a Margherita pizza, which arrived quickly on a cutting board. It was basically a frozen cheese pizza - gooey crust and Chef Boy-ar-dee sauce with a layer of cheese. No actual tomato or actual chopped basil leaves. I had the ham, cheddar, and chutney sandwich, which was served on a thick ciabatta roll, but had so little chutney or watercress, that it was quite dry and tough to eat. Once our food was brought, we never saw the waitstaff again, except when one would happen up to bring another table's food. They wanted little to do, other than to grab up used plates and napkins. (I was able to save the second glass of water I had gone down to ask for, since they hadn't brought around a pitcher.) It's early in the season, in the middle of Spring Holiday for most schools, so they will have a good chance to learn more table smarts before the season hits fully, but at this time, having all four staff congregating downstairs when there are four or five full tables upstairs is not going to bring in repeat business, or even good press.

The barista was wonderful. While the flavor profile did not match my tastebuds this day, the latte was superb and the milk held until the last drop. Which signals mad skills and a dedication to pulling a cup that the barista would be proud to serve in a completion. I like that. Had a slice of banana bread. Tasty. The wife had a cortado. Never got a sip. So I am certain it was good as well. I loved how asking a question about the beans of the day evoked a conversation...an actual conversation about the origins and intents of the beans they sell. It matters. Single origin and a relationship to the grower. How cool is that? Way cool. Worth the trip to Falmouth to find...but hurry up. They close at 3pm.

Apparently this is a brand new location for Espressini, but it's already up and running nicely. I have a soft spot for Panamanian coffee, as my parents lived there for a few years, but I think any objective taster would agree that this was good stuff. Anyway: perfectly pulled espresso, great temperature (hot, not warm), perfect amount of milk steamed just right. And a cute space in a good location, friendly and laid-back barista, and wonderful-smelling bags of coffee all around the shop. Oh, and a bottle of tap water provided on the table! The only problem with this place is that it's in Falmouth instead of London, so I won't visit as often as I'd like.
