I didn't have tape, and in my past experiences at Staples, I've either been charged a small fee (around $1) or sometimes even assisted without issue. However, this time I was told that I needed to purchase an entire roll of tape for about $20, which felt excessive for a simple shipment.
While I understand store policies may vary, the main issue was the customer service. The associate working in copy and print, who I later confirmed was Gladys Solis, was extremely rude. When I asked for help, she appeared annoyed, rolled their eyes, and made me feel like I was an inconvenience. I respect that employees may not always be able to physically assist with packaging, but tone and attitude matter. A simple, respectful explanation would have made a big difference.
