My experience at Leigh House greatly exceeded my wildest expectations. Because of my work…read moresituation, I had to relocate out of state earlier than expected. However, LH was easily the best apartment I have ever experienced. First, I would like to start with the property managers. Cristi, Alyssa, and Taylor were all extremely friendly, courteous, and quick to respond to any of my requests. Maintenance was also quick to solve minor issues. The property is modern and cleanly. It appears they clean the main areas every day. Leigh House has great exercise and cardio rooms that are also very clean and offer pool views while working out. You won't feel like you're working out in a shoebox with someone breathing down your neck. As for my apartment, I lived in an A3A model (745 sq feet). The A3A has a rectangular shape with a lot of open space and natural light. The unit has tons of cabinet space, even in the bathroom. I was on the top floor (4), and although there is a Leigh property across the street, I could still see the sky. It's nearly impossible to see into the apartments across the street, so one does not have to worry about privacy. There was also very little noise, as Landmark Drive doesn't get much traffic. The walls are solid; I never heard a noise from my neighbors. It's a great apartment for sleeping, as the neighborhood is peaceful. I was never awakened once. There is plenty of parking; I was never left without a spot to park. The community tenants are very friendly. I once left an expensive pair of glasses in the exercise room for 24 hours and no one stole them. (That would not have happened in many of the other building where I have previously lived.) There are many social gatherings, particularly near the pool area. There are some restaurants across the street, along with a Panera Bread and CVS nearby. However, these businesses do not attract lots of traffic, so there isn't any major congestion. When I moved to Raleigh from out of state, I looked at many properties. I can say without doubt that I selected the best one. I strongly recommend LH as the best place to live in the Raleigh area.

Many of my neighbors have lived here 20+ years. If your looking for modern amenities, this is not for you. The office staff and maintenance are outstanding. it is if I'm living in a small park. lots of open space for those that has pets, picnic tables, small playground, reasonably priced for location and the size of the units. they were placed vacant units rapidly. I have no plans to move.

Update #1: There…read morewas a huge ant hill on the base of a tree that my dog walked into the other day. Thankfully it was close to the communal car wash, so I was able to run him over there and get the ants off him quickly. He hated every second of this, and the ants somehow ended up biting me to shreds, but I got them off him. After that, I took him back to my apartment and then walked back down to the office to share this with the staff, thinking they would share with the exterminators to avoid other issues. But, everyone looked at me like I was crazy when I said I wanted to share the location of this ant hill and why. One of their newest staff members followed me outside (J thank you for coming with me and I'm sorry you got elected for this by default, but I very seriously appreciate you) and made note of the issue. Update #2: Someone mentioned the bad landscaping in another review and prior to moving in I kind of rolled my eyes about it... right? Bc with no context it's an odd thing to be upset about. But here is the thing.... It's a very dog friendly complex... SO.... Dead grass and random sticking up metal parts and holes in the ground = not the best place to walk your dog. Add a bunch of dogs, aerated turf, lots of rain, Straight up dirt with the metal bits and mess. I don't like it. At all. Update #3: Someone before me posted about the fire alarm and said it was painful to hear. I've now experienced it and can agree. This fire alarm is so loud that I couldn't get my cats out of my bedroom, my dog cried the entire walk downstairs and my ears still hurt badly from being either in my apartment, on my balcony or being outside. The video I posted is only of outside. But hopefully you get the gist. Thank God there was no actual fire today Bc I would not have been able to save all my animals. Update #4: the stomping above me never ends. It wakes us up at night almost daily and I miss sleep. I captured a video of it one afternoon for reference. 100% can't wait to move out.

The location is not so great. You are in a very isolated area with very few walking options. Although there are some good hikes. The park also makes it better. The use of space in these apartments are a bit odd. We were in a smaller apartment before in the same complex and when we moved to a larger one, we had to get rid of my dining table as I couldn't fit it with the weird kitchen isle. Also, we were in a studio apartment previously and every single time it rained hard the water started seeping in from the floor tiles and caused flooding. We didn't noticed this for 3-4 months as there was drought. When we noticed it, the leasing office was very apathetic. They didn't offer us any reasonable accommodation for the fix. We had to upgrade it to a larger apartment with higher rent. I would at least expect them to be more lenient to get better pricing as this move was not voluntary. They did waive the transfer fee, but that's the least I would expect from a situation like this.
