Cute in a has a jar of (delicious) cookies at the check in desk at all times. Besides being so cute it's located perfectly right in UNCs campus and just blocks from Franklin street. We had a car since we were making our way thru North Carolina and needed to drive to Duke a few times, but if you're visiting UNC you could probably get away without a car. The room itself was cute (of course) and clean. My only dislikes was that the tv didn't have Netflix so my daughter and I couldn't watch a movie together, but my phone sufficed. The walls were also a little thin and we had some noisy neighbors. We enjoyed the brunch buffet before checking out on Sunday and it was delicious. Id I was bag in the triangle area I'd definitely stay here again!

The hotel is now a Hyatt property and the renovations added modern touches to the sleeping rooms and lobby and restaurant. We parked overnight and the valet and front desk and all the staff are extremely friendly and hospitable. The standard rooms come with showers so I paid an upgrade for a bathtub. The rooms come equipped with a mini fridge, robes, a lovely Nespresso machine, and very comfortable bed. We had a delicious dinner at Crossroads and also a fantastic brunch buffet on Sunday morning. The hotel is known as a wedding venue so it is a great place to host rehearsal dinners and weddings and have the guests stay overnight. It is the university hotel and has the Carolina charm and history and is a great place to stay for alumni, weddings, or other local events. You are within walking distance of the campus and right by Franklin street. Thank you for making our staycation so fabulous!

From the…read morehotel staff to the rooms themselves, we experienced a very special and highly refined impromptu "escape" that was embodied with all the finest aspects of Italian elegance. IMO anybody who has actually been to Italy would agree, every detail evoked the charm of a Tuscan villa but with the perfect amount of modern luxury. Our room was well designed and clean, and the overall experience felt truly elevated. But the true highlight was dining at II Palio (their signature Four Diamond restaurant). Simply put: the food was phenomenal. From the perfectly crafted brisket and short rib burger--to the house-made meatballs and incredibly seasoned, fresh oysters, every dish showcased top-tier ingredients and culinary precision. Finally, the overall service was exceptional: Hotel staff were welcoming and gracious as well as knowledgeable, and genuinely enjoyable. That said, the addition of II Palio is second to none! This hotel and restaurant isn't just a "hotel restaurant"--it's a memorable destination AND we're already planning our return!!

Although note that you can't really walk to the main campus from here (although they provide a guest shuttle option). Check in was quick and easy, and staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable, and was stocked with luxury amenities like Nest bath products and a stocked Keurig machinene. The Rizzo Center also had a full-sized gym, complete with two stationary bikes, a rowing machine, a peloton, a cable machine, a couple of treadmills and machines, and full dumbbell sets. They also provided a guest pantry, which was open 24/7, and stocked with ice cream, soda, coffee and tea. They also had several laundry machines on each floor, free for guests to use. The complimentary breakfast on the first floor was great, and included oats, grits, fruits, yogurt, pastries and hot foods (frittata, scrambled eggs, french toast, sausage/bacon, etc.). Definitely recommend staying here when visiting the RTP area.

I really enjoyed my recent stay at this terrific mid-priced hotel in the heart of Chapel Hill,…read morewhich welcomes guests with a distinct college sports theme that celebrates the town's Tar Heel heritage. From the Dean Smith and Michael Jordan guest room artwork to the basketball court play area on the third floor, the whole place feels like a giant pregame pep rally. My standard balcony room was clean and cozy, with a comfortable queen bed and a decent-sized bathroom. Parking is conveniently located in an attached two-level deck that's a bit tight but gets the job done. And the convenient West Franklin St location, just a short walk from the UNC campus, makes the Graduate an ideal spot for anyone visiting the university for a ballgame, a student tour, or just to check up on your Tar Heel. There are a number of restaurants and bars within walking distance, including the Crunkleton, He's Not Here and Carolina Brewing. Don't want to leave? There's also a small restaurant and bar right off the lobby. Reservations can be tough to secure on gamedays and graduations, so book early. But if you can manage to score a room here, you might just discover your new favorite lodging spot in Chapel Hill.

I had a large room with a balcony which would have been lovely if it were not raining the entire time I was there. The employees were friendly, and my friends and I went down to the bar for a drink before they closed. Dex was running the show and gave us some great information and recommendations. The beds were super comfortable, the showers were nice, my only complaint was the coffee. I love the little kettle, it heated up super quick, but their instant coffee was terrible. They recommended coming down in the morning to go to the coffee bar, but I am unfit to be around people until AFTER I have had my coffee.

If you need/want a comfortable stay at a hotel, this is not it. This is not it…read more I'm writing this review at 5 AM after having had very little sleep last night due to the super uncomfortable mattress. I honestly feel like sleeping on the floor would have been as comfortable as this mattress in this room. And for what I paid for this room I expected much more, much better. Checking in downstairs I was greeted by a beautiful spacious lobby, a fresh scent in the air, and the check in reception desk staff was friendly and super competent. I chose to park on site because it was freezing outside and I didn't want to have to walk too far as I'm traveling by myself. Parking below the hotel is available for a cost. Getting down under the building in a larger vehicle can be a little scary. But I managed to easily find parking and hopefully later today when I leave, I won't have any issues. I took the elevator from the parking lot up to the fourth floor where my room is and easily found my room. But when I open the door to my room, it smelled like dirty sheets. Like dirty hair that needs to be washed. It did not smell like the fresh scent of the lobby. The decor is very masculine and uncomfortable. The couch that I sat in started to unfold itself as I'm sitting in it is the best way I can describe it. It's like it can turn into another bed in the room, but it's so poorly made that while you're sitting on it the bottom cushions start to slide out like it's going to turn it into the bed. Very uncomfortable and hard. The actual king size bed looks like it's going to be super comfortable. It's got nice, fluffy sheets and pillows on it however, I cannot get comfortable in it as it is hard as a rock. My hips are killing me and my right arm keeps falling asleep. I cannot find a comfortable position. There is no alarm clock, so I have to check my phone to check the time. Good luck figuring out the light switches. I spilled some water and there are no paper towels, so I chose to use a washcloth to wipe it up. Thefloors are laminate so wiping it up should've been easy and I expected the washcloth to be virtually clean when I picked it up, however it was filthy. So when was the last time these floors were mopped? And then I started looking around that's an area rug and there are several dark stains on the area rug. I had to turn the heater on because the air conditioner was running and the room was freezing. I mean outside it was 33°. The heater was so loud. I called downstairs and they offered to send someone up, but I was already in my pajamas so hopefully after I check out, they will check it out because it sounded like a freight train was in the room every time it came on. The walls are pretty thin and I know this is a college town and there was a concert here tonight. I knew that I would hear sounds from the street, but it was the sounds from the hallway and the rooms around me that was super annoying. The iron never heated up enough and water spilled all over the clothes I was ironing. Had to use the hair dryer to remove the water. Some previous yelpers said the water pressure in the shower was light. I found it to be perfect. But the hotel provided shampoo, conditioner, and body wash all had a male-centered fragrance. Overall, I'm very disappointed in the stay. I have a pretty long day ahead of me with a lot of driving and I got basically no rest. And my back is stiff.
