So you know - this defect should have been caught when the counters were being shaped. Ultimately it was my bad for allowing them to be installed. Stop your installers and look over every square inch before you let them in the house. It's a pain in the neck because they are all strapped to dollies with padding but it really sucks to have the kitchen you've been waiting for look like you settled.

Chris at Chiseled did a fine job building a pantry for me based off something I loved from…read morePinterest. My space was smaller than standard sized doors would work with and required screen doors. He worked with me to brainstorm a solution that was within a price that I was willing to pay. He ended up getting two, two panel doors, cutting out the top panels and installed screens in them. The bottom panels were hollow so couldn't hold the storage/spice racks. So I found some wire spice racks of lighter weight on Amazon and, true to his word, he came back and installed them for me after I had paid him in full with no hassle. (He was the only person this happened with on my full house remodel. I had one guy refuse to come back and finish his work period. So I hired someone else to finish up, and it drug on and on with delay after delay.) The shelves he built for me are crazy strong and sturdy. I don't have to worry about overloading any of the shelves, ever! I have cats that are good at getting into places they shouldn't, he suggested a strong magnetic latch at the top and it has worked wonderfully to keep the cats out. They don't even try to get the doors open! The only way they get in there is if I leave the door(s) open to long, as I did when taking the pictures. For my kitchen I bought a whopping huge apron sink. It wouldn't fit in any standard sink base. So Chris modified a standard sink base to properly support my apron sink. I have been very pleased with his work. Everyone who sees the pantry he built, wants one just like it. I will upload photos of the pantry including the Pinterest post I modeled it after. The other bathroom sink and cabinet did not quite work out in practice the way it was envisioned with the initial drawings and concept. Mark worked hard to fix the issues and the end result was something that was very usable and looked very nice. We were very satisfied with the end results in both bathrooms. Excuses and after two months of trying to get two counters and two backspashes done, we're still waiting and getting the run-around. I hired Gross Tile for a kitchen counter and tile backsplash, and bathroom vanity counter and tile backspash back in early June 2014. I prepaid over $6000 and the experience, customer service, and quality has been terrible. First they told me the counters would take 2 weeks and they took 6, and then the counters were not even correct and they had to rework them and they still aren't done yet as of July 25, 2014. Then they came out to do the 4' of tile back-splash for the vanity and when they first set the tiles, there were 1/4 gaps between some of the sheets and 1/6" between others, very uneven. So they re-spaced the tiles before grouting, and when they grouted, more issues of uneven tiles, poor spacing and tiles that are actually sticking out at angles. I'm not being picky. This job looks like a fist time amateur and I'm very unhappy. Mark Gross said he come look at it but didn't show up and isn't returning his cell phone calls. I've called the office and left messages and still waiting on a return call. It's unfortunate and totally avoidable if they cared about doing quality work and cared about the customer. Buyer be warned.
