I love this little store that has been serving customers in Mount Joy for almost 40 years. The Country Store doesn't have a large selection like Giant or Weis, but it does have a huge section of bulk items especially for baking and chocolate. I mainly go here when I have to send out care packages and need a gift. Their produce aisle is quite small but the quality looks good. The deli is probably the largest part of the store. They serve sandwiches daily (subs, pretzel sandwiches and wraps) as well as lunch meat and cheese, veggie and fruit trays. And don't forget the spice/herb area at the end of the produce. One of my favorite items at the store is their whoopie pies that come from Lucinda's Bakery in Lititz. Amazingly delicious! Their homemade baked goods are restocked every Wednesday so take note. They accept cash, check, credit and debit and they now have the chip reader. It's a small, family owned business so definitely try them out and give them your business if you get the chance! read more

This is a cool little PA Dutch grocery store. Lots of bulk items for a low price. I really don't have a use for most of this store because of my special diet, but it is cute. VERY small organic and health food section. However this is one of the only places I've seen that carries Kutztown Sarsaparilla. YUM. read more

I may be biased as an employee of the Country Store (and also a grandson of the owners... so yea I'm definitely biased at least a little) but I have been going there for a long time and rarely is there anything I need that they don't have. Customers rave about our deli and bulk food prices and spread word to friends. I often hear customers say something along the lines of "this is my first time coming in here. I've lived 5 minutes away and never knew this place existed until my neighbor said I had to check it out!" Overall, I think my favorite part about the Country Store overall though is the great, old fashioned atmosphere it provides to its customers! read more

Great little store that offers great meat, cheese and bulk items. I love to bake breads and other goodies so I go a couple times a year to stock up on a variety of flours, grains and other items that I either can't find at the bigger grocery stores and the price is usually better, too. I shop here very often. It's not the largest store around, but that is what makes it so great and unique. I can shop here and be done in 15 minutes and have everything because its so well layed out. As others have stated the store has very friendly staff, consisting of mostly Mennonite/Plain people. They are always very personable and helpful. The store has a awesome selection of bulk cooking items such as spices, sugar, flour, cereal, granola, chocolate, and holiday baking supplies. Buying in bulk at this store will save you money. The fruit/vegetable section is pretty small, but the selection that they have is nice and very affordable. The dairy section contains a lot of local drinks, including SWISS milk, sweetend drinks, and Turkey Hill products. It also has a nice assortment of localally produced products such as bacon from Martin's in New Holland, yogurt from local farms, and a assortment of other locall produced products such as cranberry relish, puddings, bulk cheese, and meats. Frozen section contains many frozen vegetables, Turkey Hill ice cream, pizza and pie shells, and Shurfine products. It has a nice selection of consumer sized products including chocolate, candy, and cereals among other items. Chips and pretzels/snacks mostly consist of local product. Deli Section - I honestly don't use the deli. I use another another competitor (Hummer Meats). Fabulous! Great prices on deli meats and cheeses, grains, flour and extracts for baking. Their nuts are also well below the price of grocery stores and everything is fresh. Their produce dept is small and mostly a bit sad and the regular shelved items like potato chips and jarred sauce are expensive so do that shopping somewhere else. But for baking supplies, frozen foods and deli items this place can't be beat!!! read more

YI love this store! They have such a wonderful selection of everything. Their gift section is great for that last minute gift you need or for Christmas shopping. We have been going to the Country Store since before I moved to PA. When we lived in NJ, I would call an order in and they had it ready for me to pickup when we drove out for a weekend. Now that I live here, my husband enjoys going up to do our weekly order. It's the only store he'll go to! :) Can't beat the prices on any item there. The owners are fantastic and friendly and always willing to help or order something for you. The ladies in the store are great and always serve you with a smile and are happy all the time. My friends from NJ always love going up to store when they visit and leave with bags of spices (really inexpensive), baking nees and just about anything else they see. As someone mentioned, it's Mount Joy's best kept secret. Stop by when you drive this way. This is a great little store with some unique items. Love the egg custards they sell! Produce prices are very reasonable. The hours can be difficult if you work full-time (they are closed Mon-Wed by the time I get off work). The staff have always been very friendly and I enjoy browsing their gift section. read more

I recently moved and a neighbor recommended Country Store for its prices and friendly service. I stopped by this morning and first went to the deli. I got a number and patiently waited for my turn while 2 other people were served before me without a number. I was finally waited on by a young woman and ordered a pound of sharp cheddar. I was deciding what else I wanted when I realized she was slicing the cheddar. I got her attention and told her I didn't want it sliced. She gave me a disgusted look and said loud enough so other customers turned and started staring at me that I didn't say that I didn't want it sliced. In my 58 years, I've always mentioned if I wanted cheese sliced and have never needed to say that I didn't want cheese sliced. I got my chunk of cheese, paid for it and left without even looking at other deli items, meat, vegetables, bulk foods or their gift shop, as I intended to do. this is a great little store that is a wonderful alternative to the grocery store. this place is really convenient for me on my way home from work to pick up ingredients for dinner. they have a decent selection of produce, organic/health food items, regular store items like canned goods, cereal, chips, rolls/bread. they also have a deli..their lunch meats are the same brands as the grocery store but about 65% of the price!! a prepared foods case -- subs are really good, and an excellent bulk food section with everything from noodles, candy, sugar, cereal, nuts, frozen veggies etc. their prices cannot be beat for the bulk foods!! read more

This is a little gem surrounded by corn fields! They have wonderful products that are hard to find elsewhere for the price. Wonderful place for gifts for someone hard to buy for. I recommend this store for anyone. read more
