First thing, she is highly responsive each time I reach out to her- I've never had to wait months for an appointment, and if it's a question/comment/concern with my extensions, she will work me in as soon as 24-hour notice. Mika is very knowledgeable about extensions, and her experience and expertise really shows. My extensions feel tight (but not too tight!) and anchored very well with clean sections. One of my favorite things about Mika and Off the Rail Salon is that she is real- She never tries to sugar-coat anything or promise unrealistic results. She will give clear specifics of what she can do during your appointment and will be sure to set your next appointment at the end of service to ensure your ultimate desired result and overall happiness with your hair (color, cut, or both). Mika has a great balance between maintaining professionalism while creating a space where I feel very comfortable in being myself and feel relaxed being around someone who is an honest, genuinely kind human such as Mika. I did my scheduling and my consultation through the owner, and I sent him a picture, and we had a ver detailed conversation on what i wanted. The day before my appointment, I got a text message from the hairdresser saying she was overbooked because the scheduler didn't understand what I needed and didn't book enough time for my appointment and the previous appointment. The hairdresser had gotten sick, and I understand that we are all human. She did offer me other days and times, but as I had scheduled out 3 weeks in advance and recently started a new job. None of our schedules matched since I made the appointment with the owner, I sent him a message letting him know how disappointed I was because I was really looking forward to trying his salon. He instantly sent me back a message telling me that this was an errand that he would be calling me in just a few minutes after 3 hours of waiting for his phone. Call and send another message saying that I have canceled my appointment and was very disappointed in the interactions. I've had with this salon. He calls me. And tries to schedule an appointment. I offered him the only day I had off. To come in anytime he needed that didn't work with their scheduling. He asked if maybe I could come in later the same day I told him that I had a family dinner and then he asked me to come in the next weekend, which was my grandson's birthday. His response was anytime that day at work. I informed him that neither one of those days worked for me. As he kept going through the calendar and I let him know I worked 2 jobs, and that's part of my problem. That's why I scheduled my appointment so far in advance. His only other option was to make me wait until the middle of July... More than another month. I am very disappointed in the actions of the salon.
