This place used to be amazing, it has gone downhill with service. Instead of coming to relax your muscles and enjoy the spa amenities before hand, you can only do that after your treatment now. They really tried telling me there is no skin benefit to leaving the massage oils on your skin after 10 minutes so just shower off and jump on in the chlorine! So disappointed to not be able to enjoy what we used to enjoy in McCall for our baby moon. read more

I'm a very disappointed customer. My husband booked me a prenatal massage for our anniversary. Unfortunately, we were running late on our commute to McCall from Boise, and I called to speak with someone about the process of being late. I understand the logistics with scheduling and respect the process, but no one calls back. No one explains how it will work or affect my appointment. If i had known i was going to be treated like garbage, I would not have gone and paid whatever to avoid feeling more like crap when i left. I arrive at 12:09 for my 12pm appointment. I'm greeted quickly and asked if I have sandels. Upon my response of no, the girl proceeds to take me back acting annoyed, says the clock is already ticking on my appointment, grabbed my sandels, and took me to a changing room. Doesn't explain how the lockers work and says walk thru to the pool when you're done. Great. So i leave my stuff unlocked as I'm stressed. I am then greeted by my massage therapist. She was very friendly and gentle, and I do commend her for doing the best with what she was given. It was an ok massage. I'm sure some would be happy, but I'm pregnant; my lower back hurts and was given no attention. I left like my intake paperwork i submitted wasn't reviewed, so what's the point of taking the time to do that.. It just felt like I was given a gentle lotion rub. The only area I felt relief was my shoulders. The massage was quick, and I was led out. When I get back to the changing room it's 12:50. Wow. 40 minutes from arrival (including changing), the massage was probably 20 minutes!!!!! Are you kidding?! I then proceeded to exit and I asked the front desk women (same one who walked me back) if I need to do anything and how I can add a tip...and she just put lotion on her hands so she can't help me. Her coworkers then proceeded to look up the account and said...first "well that was quick!" Yes im sure this process is quick when you're pregnant and shouldn't soak in a hottub. She then informed me "we can bill the card on file, but it isn't secure, and if you get fraud, it can not be disputed, so I recommend giving me a different card." Let me remind you that this was a gift!!! So you're telling me if you enter a card on file its UNSAFE?! So reluctantly, I hand her my card, in tears, because I'm so disappointed that now I'm paying for this joke of an appointment. I could hold back more tears as I sign for $165 PLUS TIP for a 20 minute massage. They noticed my emotion, but I was so frustrated and upset I left. Funny enough they took it upon themselves to call me (so they do know how to call back) and left a messaging stating they reversed the charge on my card and took payment from my husband's AFTER THEY EXPLAINED ITS UNSAFE? Cool, thanks for that. I'm glad they could be so helpful to process payment on the card they talked me out of billing. I'm still so upset. I will never come back. read more

We've been trying to get in to the Cove over the past couple of years while we've been in McCall, however they're usually full. We were very excited to get in for her birthday weekend. Out massages were nice. However the indoor and outdoor spas were both cold. Maybe in the summer would have been ok. However this was last weekend with plenty of snow still. This cut our visit short as we could not enjoy a soak. We were told they were 100 and 104 in the spas. I informed the receptionist and was told "yeah we know and we've informed engineering". After spending over 300 plus tips and for our massages and more for drinks we werent offered any discount or even an apology for the cold spas. I was shocked by this service. One for not taking care of customers and also that we were told the spas were hot when they werent. read more

I have been a patron of this spa for 12 years as we have a home in McCall. As of late they've changed policy to serve out of town guests instead - making it impossible for locals to book. I have been trying to book some appts for a special occasion. I was told unless you are a hotel guest or White Tail member the cove will not allow you to book before 14 days out. I went in to book at 14 days out from the desired date and was told they could now only book 7 days out, unless you were a hotel guest. The front desk staff was rude and visibly annoyed when I asked what slots were available. Resorts with spas in other cities do not have this practice of exclusivity. Will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

Where do I begin with my over the top love for this spa. This might be the very one amenity that brings us back to the Shore lodge over and over again. This is also one of the best spas we have been too and trust me, we have been too a lot. Spa is practically my middle name. First off- you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't come early to enjoy the hot immersion pools. There are two, one indoors and the other outdoors. Making this a year round gem. We like to come 3 hours prior to our treatments to enjoy, unwind and relax. This really enhances your overall experience and is well worth it. But be forewarned that seating is limited indoors, the pillow padded lounge chairs are the ones you want to snag and there are only 6 along the back wall looking out. There are other seating options but some are limited in the winter months since many don't want to sit outside. However I think the spa management typically does a good job of balancing the number of guests. Now one might expect the prices to be inflated due to this lovely amenity but that is not so. I find their pricing to be very reasonable for a spa. This is a perfect girlfriends getaway or a weekend trip with your significant other without breaking the bank, a typical 60 min massage will run about $115 per person (not including gratuity). All of the masseuses are very experienced, I have yet to experience a facial here but that is definitely on my list for next time. They also provide lockers, showers, robe, sandals and basic toiletries, etc. TIP ALERT: One very major plus of this spa is that you can order in wine, cocktails or beer from the resort restaurant. Service is quick and attentive. There is also a limited food menu consisted of lighter options such as salads, sandwiches, lox, etc. Which quite frankly makes me never want to leave, what more do you need? Terrible experience today at The Cove. ERICA the assistant manager is disrespectful and made me feel extremely unwelcome after spending $80 on a spa pedicure + $20 tip for the nail tech (Rebecca). As a spa owner myself and 20+ years in the service industry, Erica is the only person to date that has managed to make me extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome it was appalling. Rebecca, was lovely, inviting and a professional. Five stars for her. We made great conversation and she painted my toes perfectly. Before leaving the chair I was invited to return at any point to touch up any details on my pedicure. Surprised because I myself keep a tight schedule. I was assured it wouldn't be a problem if I needed a touch up even though I was extremely confident that it wouldn't be necessary. Unfortunately I chipped my toe. I skipped my way back to the spa where initially I was welcomed with open arms. Then I met Erica. For some reason, maybe a long week I know it's a busy weekend she was unable communicate in a positive manner. I never wanted to leave a place and check out of the hotel so quickly. We came for the immersion pools and it was everything we imagined it could be and more. Since we didn't get a massage or another service there, we took a chance, showed up, and hoped there would be a spot at the pools. Luckily, there was. And even better, we had the pools to ourselves the entire 3 hours we stayed. They gave us a robe, slippers, and a quick tour before releasing us to relax. The pools are all about the same temperature both inside and outside. There are nice lounge chairs inside, a fire pit outside, and tea and trail mix to satisfy you. I booked a gel mani/pedi for myself, which would include the daily spa use. I'm 8 months pregnant and am not able to use the hot pools. I then booked my 13 yr old daughter for a gel mani after mine (there's only 1 nail tech) thinking she could just use the day pass and soak in the hot pools while I was getting my services that were almost 2 hours long. Wrong! Even though I forgo my use of the daily spa use for medical reasons, she was not able to use it in my place. Did I mention that there wasn't 1 person in the pools? My pedicure was not good (the massage was so light and super short). I was looking forward to a foot rub being this pregnant and was greatly disappointed, especially for $65. The nail tech wore a black see through shirt covered in cat hair. I'm not sure what was worse, the cat hair or the nip slip from her strapless bra under the see through shirt. My daughter was completely grossed out, as was I. It's very unfortunate because the facility itself looks amazing. read more

Hands down the best spa I have ever been to. And the only one I have ever been to that I honestly could have just hung out there all day with no problem. Spa receptionist checks you in and shows you to the locker room, where your comfy bathrobe and spa shoes await. Room is stocked with all the toiletry essentials if you choose to freshen up at the conclusion of your stay. My husband and I did a couples massage, which side note I booked 2 months in advance and got the last one available during our stay; so think ahead! My massage was very relaxing and professional. My favorite part was probably the hot towel service. So relaxing. By far the best part about this spa is their immersion pool area. There is an indoor and outdoor pool that resembles the feeling of a hot spring in its construction. Lounge furniture, complimentary infused ice water, tea and light snacks. They also offer kitchen service so you can grab lunch and a drink if you like. If you book a service, such as a massage, the immersion pool is part of your service and you can come and go all day! They do allow a day pass for just the pool area, but space can be limited as full service clients get the spots first. So worth it! read more

If I had not been to the spa before I would never go back and wouldn't continue to stay at Shorelodge. My partner said her massage was really good hence I decided to give 2 stars vs 1. And my friends enjoy the body scrubs and massages. This is fairly priced for the beautiful environment they offer for your first class pampering service. Called multiple times to get a reservation. Once finally able to talk to someone, they explained had no openings for us. (There were two of us, and we were open to any services at any times within a 3 day span.) They told us would put us on the cancellation list. We never got a call. So decided to try calling just to make sure nothing opened up, and there actually was one opening. So we booked that with hopes there would be another. Later that day were told (after we asked... once again were never called as told we would be with cancellation list) there were two openings for the next day, but at that point couldn't cancel the one because it was too late and would be charged 100% fee. At this point again asked if one of us could just use the pool after so could be somewhat together and was not an option, we were even willing to pay for a full service to just use the pool! Long story short would say experience was less than accommodating in terms of getting in. With a span of three days flexibility, for any service and just wanting something together. Most likely won't attempt to get in again. Defeats the purpose of relaxation when there are 0 efforts for accommodation to even get in. read more

The Cove is the one place that is a true "spa" in terms of the word. The reason being that it's attached to a resort hotel, offers a full service menu, drinks and food, and immersion pools with adjoining relaxation area to really get away and relax. Spending 5 hours there is akin to having a weekend off. That's how relaxed you will be. The atmosphere is calm, clean, polished and relaxing. We had massages there and my therapist, Jessica was the epitome of professionalism and attention to detail. Came to McCall to enjoy a weekend at Shore Lodge and The Cove. Well, I booked the room 2 months ago and made reservations for The Cove the day after. Everything was reserved. I get to Shore Lodge and checked into my room only to find out we can't get into The Cove. Shore Lodge made up for it and the weekend was still enjoyable without The Cove. It very disappointing when we make reservations and then we get here and The Cove doesn't hold up their part. Sad. read more
