Love the atmosphere when meeting friends for coffee and the staff is always friendly. I believe the donuts are from Buckeye Bakery and are always good. The pizza (different shop but pick up here) is very good. I try to avoid mid afternoons during the school year because it fills up with students from Ontario. Even though the staff has them under control (they are required to drop their bookbags outside of the back room), it is a bit noisy. But they are a kids....so..... I really do like this shop. This was, without question, the worst employer I have ever worked for, and I would strongly discourage anyone from working here or supporting this business. The most disappointing aspect was the complete lack of respect shown toward employees. In my experience, management created a hostile work environment, regularly blamed staff for problems instead of accepting responsibility, and addressed employees in ways I found demeaning and unprofessional. I witnessed the owner tell high school-aged employees that they had "mental blocks," and employees were publicly criticized and verbally attacked in front of customers instead of having concerns addressed privately. I also witnessed an employee lose his job after requesting time off following the death of his dog. Another incident that I found deeply inappropriate involved the handling of an employee's personal information. During a difficult period involving family issues, management used the employee's emergency contact information to contact her father for reasons unrelated to an actual emergency. Based on what I witnessed, management discussed the employee's personal situation with him, which I felt was an unacceptable misuse of confidential information and a serious breach of trust. The owner also gossiped about me and my coworkers to other workers creating an environment we felt unsafe in. This company always had drama within the workplace and staff was always unstable with employees / managers quitting left and right. The company's tipping practices were another major concern. Employees were told that customer tips were included in their minimum-wage paychecks rather than being distributed separately. Around Christmas, employees were also required to turn over cash tips that had been personally given to them by a regular customer. Would never recommend tipping unless you want to give more money to these unprofessional, greedy individuals. I also had serious concerns about food quality and food handling. Employees were instructed to use mushrooms with visible mold because they had not yet reached their expiration date and "they're supposed to look like that" (apparently), and milk past its "best by" date was considered acceptable to serve. Gluten-free precautions were presented to customers, but cross-contamination was unavoidable in practice. Cookies were left out for days until they became stale and were still sold. Customers should also know that no bakery items were made in-house. The bakery inventory came from Sam's Club, although employees were instructed to describe it only as coming from "our distributors." The mozzarella sticks were also frozen, pre-packaged products rather than made fresh. Another serious concern was the amount of stress left on mostly high-school aged kids to run this place on their own. Management was inconsistent and owners were constantly on vacation. Specifically, one time they took a trip, the manager left, and owners told us not to contact them all week. The pizza kitchen was an absolute disaster being held together by 3 teenage girls (2 of which were on their first week). The dough press was broken, and ingredients were running out and orders were piling in. The manager was called and she said there was nothing she could do and we got ridiculed by numerous angry customers. Ultimately, there are far better local businesses that value both their employees and their customers. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this business in any capacity. I would encourage anyone considering working here--or spending their money here--to think carefully before doing so. read more

I would not recommend going here, there are more consistent coffee shops around. The coffee's usually great, but the owner is extremely contentious and refuses to accept responsibility for mistakes. I've ordered dozens, maybe hundreds of coffees here and the owner has convinced me to go elsewhere. Once, weeks ago, they made my coffee incorrectly just before closing. My husband brought it home, I got a drink, and it was missing the caramel + white chocolate flavoring, and was definitely not what I'd paid for -- Disgusting! I was disappointed, but mistakes happen, no big deal. I came in the next morning to pick up replacement coffee and asked if they could cover the incorrectly made coffees the night before. They said they'd need to get it to a manager and that was the last I'd heard of it until today. Today my husband was stopped by the owner insisting that the coffee was bad because I didn't drink it quickly enough, he tried to explain that wasn't the issue (I leave them in the refrigerator overnight and they're still fine) but she kept arguing until he asked for a number I could call to talk to her at. I called and she repeatedly implied I was lying or just flat out wrong. She still refused to refund or replace the poorly made coffees and also insisted there was no way her people could be making coffees differently one time than the others (?????). Giving the Cove a slightly above average mark primarily due to both their indoor and outdoor space. I remained outside on their large patio with many tables while my husband went in to get our morning fuel. They didn't offer my usual oat milk but they did have my usual sugar free hazelnut syrup. I ended up with a skim milk latte with the SFH. It was not bad other than being a little too sweet, sometimes I remember to ask for fewer pumps of the syrup. My husband reports that his espresso was very good. We then looked around inside and thought it was kind of cute and definitely spacious with lots of seating options. They have a little library, video games, grab & go snacks, coffee and t-shirts for sale. The turquoise color scheme is cute but not sure of the motif otherwise (random record albums hanging?). Also, and I didn't take a pic of this, there was one table near the entrance that was covered in folded rags (just out of the dryer?)... unseemly. Lastly, my husband says there were baked goods... This review is SOLELY based on the "New York Style" bagels. I heard a commercial yesterday on the local radio station and had to try. I had high hopes and asked the gal at the counter if they really were New York style and she affirmed yes. You know, nice chewy crust and soft and fluffy on the inside. Placed my order, expecting nice FRESHLY made New York Style bagels. My heart sank when I saw her bring a few sleeves of pre-made (and turned out to be frozen and hard as a rock) bagels. One of them was to be toasted and with cream cheese for my wife. Good thing I was bringing these home, because for the extra 75 cents for the cheese, we got this tiny tub of cream cheese on the side. AND I had to microwave my frozen bagel so I could eat it. AND each bagel was two bucks a pop! Basically for Lenders Bagels (or insert your local "supermarket-brand-frozen food-aisle" brand). Looks like they bought out Besta Fasta Pizza next door, since they now offer New York Style pizza... if so, come one guys, you have pizza ovens and the makings for pizza crust... you should be able to easily make water raised bagels from scratch! I grew up in Jersey, and lived in Idaho and Northern California... in the west, there were local businesses that made the real deal, so I would think that this much closer to the East Coast, I could get something more authentic! I MAY have to try the "New York Style" pizza, but if I do, I will leave that for another day. I AM hopeful for that! read more

Really do like this coffee shop! I have tried an iced caramel latte with almond milk and an iced caramel coffee with a slash of almond milk! Both were really good! The overall aesthetic of the shops reminded me of a turquoise diner like style furniture with a more relaxed feel. The baristas were very nice too! read more

I can't believe it took me this long to write a review for these fine folks. First of all the coffee/espresso/tea drinks are outstanding. They really leave the big name chains in the dust. If you like nitro coffee/tea they have a great selection (not my thing, butt folks like it). The frozen peppermint mocha puts everyone else to shame. I could take a star off for so-so pastries, but it's a coffee house, not a bakery. The environment is comfortable and welcoming. The parking is plentiful and the outside patio is marvelous in warm weather. Just don't try to go right as the high school lets out. It's a mob scene. read more

I visited in today because Starbucks was closed and I've always wanted to try The Cove. So I walked in and loved the atmosphere and furniture. I ordered a regular iced vanilla latte, it was pretty good but then I was charged $4.00. I just think it's over priced, if starbucks was opened I could have gone there and got a venti (large), for 75 cents more. And the starbucks one tastes better. Will not be returning. Came here with my friend for the first time to study and get a drink. I purchased my drink and we sat down and pulled out our homework and I pulled out a small salad to eat for dinner since I hadn't yet. And we are talking like a TEENY salad. My friend and I were in a conversation when the owner comes and interrupts us and tells us that no food is allowed that isn't their own or the pizza place next door "according to the health department". Not once in all the coffee shops I have been to, especially in our local area like Relax It's Just Coffee, have I been told that if I bought their drink but brought a little snack or salad to go with it. As we entered the Cove Coffee Shop, we were greeted by friendly employees. The shop was tastefully decorated and welcoming. I noticed that they had bagels and ordered two of them to go. I asked the employee to please not toast them, as they were for later. He said that he had to, because they were frozen. I said that we would take them frozen, but the employee informed us that he could not sell them that way. That was a little disappointing. My husband and I ordered three drinks. When my drink was given to me, the other employee stated what kind of drink it was. I let her know that I had ordered sugar free caramel syrup. She said that she used the regular syrup and could make me a new one. I declined, because we were on our way to an appointment and did not have time. When we left the Cove, we noticed that another drink was missing the whipped cream. The drinks tasted fine, but were disappointed with the mistakes and bagels. read more

For my first time here, I enter the empty coffee shop where I was greeted with a nice "hello." The cashier seemed to be looked at her phone for a good minute before she acknowledged me, and there was a young man washing dishes in the sink. I couldn't understand the menu very well- the frozen beverages didn't seem to have very much description. I ordered a caramel frozen blended, but was then very promptly (and rudely) met with "well what kind?" As I explained I had never been here before, the young black haired lady spoke quickly and explained their two choices. Once I paid for my order, the young lady began to make my beverage and in my opinion, took longer than necessary. She spent more time goofing off with her colleague, who might I add was the only one properly wearing their mask. Neither of them wore gloves. Once I finally received my drink, it was pretty good! However, the rudeness and no sense of urgency with the staff led me to this 2 star rating. read more
