After this past winter where the heat had a tough time keeping up with the cold weather outside, we decided to get a fireplace insert that would generate heat for the house. We went to cozy barn since it was local and were pleased with the selection. We spoke with George, the owner, and he was more than happy to spend a good amount of time with us departing all his knowledge about wood-burning stoves. We made an appointment to have our fireplace measured and he personally came by within a couple of days. He sat with us, went over the models that would fit our fireplace, and gave us a detailed estimate that was much less than we had budgeted based on quotes from other providers. We selected very nice model, and as soon as the weather improved, he came by with his men and equipment and finish the job in one day. They laid down tarps on the floor, and put blankets on the furniture, and when they left, you wouldn't have even known they were there except for the beautiful new wood-burning fireplace insert. Don't buy Truman pellets from Cozy Barn, aka Hinton and Sons. The pellets are defective, 2 inch long pellets are throughout the 40lb bags. These will jam your pellet stove and cause it to shut down. Cozy barn has been knowing there's an issue but still continues to sell them with checking the delivery from Truman before selling to the consumer. Be advised! read more

Was a customer for 15 years and everything was fine. Summer of 2022 called to get four tons of pellets delivered phone girl said they had no driver? How can you be in business of selling and delivering pellets and you have no driver? Called every two weeks during the summer still no driver? Early October we saw the delivery truck hauling pellets to someone but still claim no delivery? So this business is selling pellets only if you pick up your 200 bag's yourself. Had a great business I predict by 2023 they will not be there.We moved our business to someone who wants to serve people not sit back watch them haul pellets by themselves. I hired the cozy barn to certify that my pellet stove was installed correctly. The owner, George told me his company could do it if I had my stove cleaned. Needing to satisfy my homeowners insurance, I hired them. $125 later, I was told their company does not have a certified employee to write a letter to my insurance company. Horrible service! Never shop there!!! Bought my pellet stove from them with the promise of buying the recommended pellets as well Last year I ordered a bit late in the season and they told me to order earlier for this year, so I did, and n July. Every month I called to see if my order was in and was told no, not yet. Well, now it's November and guess what, today they tell me there won't be anymore to buy until next year!!! Seems that if you ordered to have them delivered (as several of my friends did), you received your pellets. But if you ordered to pickup, then you are SOL! That's ok! People are nice, but pellet quality stinks. I asked for the best pellets they had at the beginning of the year. Bought a ton and they burned chunky and black. Really did a number on the stove. Takes a lot of cleaning to keep it running. However, I will say they always have pellets even when others are out. read more

had a 25 year old harman mark 111 coal wood stove .faithful burner but wood eater . looked for several weeks online doing comparisons and settled on a harman tl-300 wood stove . called around and cozy barn gave me the lowest price .george was knowledgeable and very helpful with all my questions .he even gave me $500 for my old stove as a trade in . new stove uses 1/4 less wood for the same amount of heat .i live in a 1865 brick farm house .my only heat is this wood stove or a coal stove .i highly recommend harman products and all the crew at cozy barn . read more
