I'd first like to say that the location of this place is quiet nice, it is small but it's very clean and easy to locate. However, there were other issues that being a clean business just cannot make up for. My boyfriend and I attended this class together as we both work in the medical field/EMS. We attended during this whole COVID-19 situation, because we both HAVE to have our certifications in order to work. I know of other cpr classes that have stayed open and some that have not stayed open during this situation. We decided before attending to call ahead, but we recurved no answer. We called several times even 30 mins before arriving. When we pulled up we noticed a "closed" sign on the door. My boyfriend walked up just to make sure that it was actually closed. There was a lady behind a desk and she was practically hiding to not be noticed. My boyfriend was signaling to her and trying to ask if they were open. She turned her back to him. So he knocked on the door, again she looked at him and gave him a weird look. She pointed to the door which he then tried to open and to his surprise it was open. He asked again "are you open today?" And she said yeah that's what the sign says..... however the sign clearly said closed. Anyways, we proceeded to take the class. She handlers the teaching style as adequately as possible given the whole COVID-19 situation..... however everything else was just a total and absolute mess. Mrs. Rockford (Stephanie) rambled on and on and on about anesthesiologists and surgery techs. She addressed the class by asking who has taken cpr before and how many times we had taken it. Most if not all of the class had taken cpr at least 3-4 times. She then said "well I'm going to assume none of you are nursing students".... Which whether or not anyone of us is a nursing student is none of her business and to assume that is disrespectful? Why would we not be nursing students? We would we not be nurses? Are we not smart enough? Not quiet sure what that statement was supposed to mean but I do feel quiet bad for the nursing student who was there. She said since we all knew cpr and had taken the course several times before, she would try to make this as quick as possible.... that is not what happened. I would say at least an hour and half of the 3 hour class was centered around irrelevant topics that had nothing to do with cpr or any of our job skills. I paid $60 to re-certify in cpr, not her some rant about ow anesthesiologist are so specific about how you use a BVM on a patient, or how people with hearing sides always turn down their hearing side or that they have Bluetooth hearing sides now. A simple "make sure to really gain the attention of those with hearing sides because they may not always be turned on" would have sufficed, not a 10 minute tangent about what type of hearing aide does what and who you're related to that has that hearing aide..... She also went off on several tangents about atonal gasps and wasn't even correct about what they were. She was incorrect about the breathing rates of infants, children and adults. Although she was correct that infants and children breathe at a faster rate than adults, her numbers were absolutely incorrect. Adults: 12-20 respirations, toddlers: 24-40 respirations, infants: 30-60 respiration.... not 10-12 for adults and 12-20 for infants. Luckily no one in this class was newbies because with that information.... Stephanie also went off on a tangent about how if you have a infant or toddler they require more respirations but never gave a specific number that would be required to give... and that seems very dangerous information to tell people whether new or not to the medical field or any field for that matter. Standard AHA cpr is taught with a certain method for a reason! Needless to say by the end of the class everyone was seen with the hands at the fast half asleep from the many long ramblings about how anesthesiologists get mad at not providing respirations with a BVM a certain way or how some people like myself just aren't strong enough to do a jaw thrust maneuver on some people, and how x-day techs and surgery techs get in trouble for trying to move on to quickly to their next patients..... and not to forget, but when she talked about how you have to intently look at someone when giving directions she pointed at me and called me out for not looking directly at her...... I have blurry vision and have been without glasses for 3 weeks, I was looking at you but I was trying to also have the least blurred vision possible as well. We both left the class being more confused than before. Luckily for everyone involved not much aha changed in the last 2 years as far as cpr goes because you weren't going to learn that anyways. Stephanie is not a bad teacher, but she should not be teaching a re-certification class and needs to brush up on her knowledge before teaching anyone else. read more

Just finished my CPR training with Daphne Burnett. Amazing instructor. Highly recommend.

Fast and easy was the process to sign up on-line, find a convenient location, and receive my BLS card (via email). The sign-up fee was $50 on their website, with a $17 fee for a CPR text book. I borrowed one so I didn't have to pay extra, and I would suggest you do the same. I glanced at the book (maybe three times) for a few seconds and that was it. You can get by without it, but depending on your instructor, better safe than sorry. My instructor was Stephen (Asian) and he was awesome! He was entertaining to watch and also very knowledgeable. He went over every situation he could think of, to make sure you were ready for any life threatening emergency. The class only consisted of me and three other students, a dentist and two nurses. I would recommend this location/class to anyone who wants to learn basic CPR. I would also recommend it to any medical professional trying to keep their BLS current. Keep your eyes out for any coupon codes on the web. read more

This business seems like a good location at first for me to take my BLSCPR class. I did the online portion and came in on a Saturday for the skills evaluation. Before I left I confirmed with my instructor that I will be getting my card that day since they no longer give cards at the end of the class they send you an e-card through your email.. He told me yes that I would receive my card within 5 to 10 minutes. My old BLS expired Sunday the 31st donut was important I get my card that day so I can turn it in. It's going on Monday 4/1 I have yet to receive my card in my email and I have called, left messages, as well as sent emails with no response. I have even went up to the location but nobody is there. read more

I paid for the hybrid course (didactic online/skills on-site) I completed the online portion via AHA website earlier in the week and arrived 10 minutes prior to the start of the skills portion of the class on Saturday per the instructions in the email sent to me the day before. No one was there. Waited over 30 minutes. Sent several emails and called the main office, but being a Saturday I received no response. I finally left and will call on Monday. Very disappointed in the lack of professionalism. read more

This class was awesome! I was very impressed by how easy it was to register & attend the class, especially since I did it super last minute. Stephen (with a PH) made the basic CPR information interesting and entertaining, I appreciated learning new information even on my 3rd renewal! Had a great experience at the CPR attaining Center! It was one of my requirements for a teaching credential so I booked a saturday class (9AM-11:30AM). Stephen (with a PH) was the instructor and he was great! He made the class fun - he was very personable/likable and made jokes from time to time. The class was engaging and he went at whatever pace we needed. If we needed clarification, he would further explain. Stephen provided real life scenarios as well as solutions for when someone becomes unresponsive or is choking. This was a really fun and engaging class for CPR and First Aid! Jonathan was the instructor for the class and was super personable while also being very informative! He was able to simulate some real life situations to have class participants be prepared for similar situations, and he asked very thoughtful questions for the students to utilize the information we learned. It's probably one of the first classes I've taken for First-Aid where I wasn't bored and waiting for the class to end.
