Whew I just completed and gained the certification for passing the 6 week EMT course! (if any of the teachers/ staff see this, thank you for everything!) - The teachers were very supportive and willing to work with you individually to help you succeed. (For the first week, they kept on reminding us that we can go talk to them for help if we are struggling at all haha). - They encourage all students to ask question no matter how dumb you think that question is. As a person who is very detailed, I asked a lot of clarifying questions and I never felt uncomfortable doing so. - As most of the teachers are/ were experienced higher level EMTs (paramedic, fire fighter etc.), they shared many stories along with the lecture to make them more applicable to real life and engaging! - Students were very diverse in culture, age range, and goals. Some were students who just graduated high school and some were in their 30's! Some students' goals were becoming a nurse, firefighter, or doctor/ surgeon. It was fantastic getting to know each other's goals and stories :) - Note: 6 week course was quite demanding and required many hours of self-studying (to review or read ahead before we were given lectures). Every Wednesday was a day off so we were able to catch up and study whatever we needed. Don't worry though, it's not too bad if you study with others :) Final thoughts: 10/10 would recommend Tips: study anatomy and physiology beforehand (it helps a ton although is not required to succeed) read more

Found CPR and More on Groupon so I decided to give them a try because they are close to the house and they have Saturday classes. Previously registered online and arrived for the 9am class. Chris was our instructor and he was great. He was very knowledgeable and also humorous. We were able to practice on the manikins and also watched instructional videos. The class is kinda long but it's very informative and useful. We received our cards (hard copy) at the completion of the class. We are also due to receive and emailed copy soon. If you are going for a BLS renewal, save yourself the time and don't. They don't separate classes so if you are needing 2 hour renewal class they will make you stay the entire time with everyone for the first time. REGARDLESS of what they post on their website when you book the class. The African-American lady who was working the front with the dog was absolutely rude. When I inquired about timing, she scolded me in front of the entire class saying that's not how they do it here and I have the choice of rescheduling or not being part of the class, so when I asked her about rescheduling for a class that just has people that need to renew so it's two hours. She said that's not how they do it here that you will always just have to do the entire class. She was very straight into the point came off very rude. Didn't give the opportunity to explain didn't offer any other options so I left. We send our employees here for renewals, and I never understood why they never went there and decided to go somewhere else but now I understand. We will no longer be doing business with CPR anymore as we've had a good relationship with them for many years. The owner Chris I really hope one day you guys can adjust this for people who are doing renewals as many people in the healthcare industry don't have five hours to do a renewal class when most of us are doing it on our days off. First off, I'd like to say that I normally don't write reviews for places even if I've had a negative experience because even then I don't typically feel strongly enough to express how I felt (especially because I get that we all have bad days and you never really know someone's life circumstances), but man. This place left me feeling SO SALTY, it's unreal. I came here to get my LiveScan done two weeks ago and received a letter that my LiveScan was rejected a few days later. I didn't really think too much about it since the Board of Registered Nursing is pretty strict about their fingerprints, and so I came in to have my LiveScan redone. Of course, I was a lot more wary this time. I brought in my letter from the BON for the lady (who had done my fingerprints the first time, as well) to see as to why my initial LiveScan was rejected. I also wanted to make sure that all of my fingerprints were accepted by the computer without having to force capture my prints. I asked the lady questions as to why my fingerprints might be rejected, as well as other operation-based questions (really just assessing her knowledge of fingerprinting, which by then I was sure was very limited). Come today, I receive an e-mail from BON saying that my fingerprints were rejected YET AGAIN, not because my fingerprints were not deemed acceptable, but because this lady failed to document WHY I was getting my fingerprints done in the first place on the form. Excuse me??? Let me tell you, it really seemed like such a simple process to input information post-acquiring my fingerprints but this lady FAILED to do that TWICE. Even after I gave her the letter from BON listing that my LiveScan was REJECTED because she didn't "clarify the reason for fingerprinting". And she kept the letter the entire time!!! Like what?? To fill out the information that is LISTED on your LiveScan form. I was, and honestly still am, baffled. Don't get me wrong, this lady was a very nice lady. But if I'm going to be totally honest here, being nice means absolutely nothing to me if you can't do your job right. Anyways, I decided to visit another LiveScan location only five minutes away from CPR and More (even though I had to pay the fee all over again) for the sake of my own sense of security and LET ME TELL YOU. Totally different experience. Why didn't I go here to begin with? I told them about my previous experience and they made sure to go through all of the information with me, explaining each step (which, mind you, there aren't very many but I was still comforted by the fact that she was answering my questions and appeared very knowledgeable regarding the process). I was/still am on a major time crunch. I expressed that this entire time too. But my LiveScan process has now been delayed by TWO WEEKS because this lady didn't do her job right. Please go somewhere else to get your fingerprints done if you don't want to face major disappointment and frustration. I'd also like to mention that this place teaches CPR, a basic LIFE-SAVING SKILL, a skill that many in-patient health care providers use on a regular basis. Which is great, it's important that these skills be taught in an accessible way for all people. Everyone should learn this skill, especially if we want to reduce cardiac-related complications/deaths. But how can you teach skill necessary in HEALTH CARE without wearing a mask in the middle of a pandemic?? Why is no one in this facility, minus the students, wearing a mask?? I get it, we're in the land of the free, but wow. That really means nothing when there are over 100,000 deaths in the United States from COVID-19 alone. read more

I recently found CPR and More on Google while I was looking for a class so I can Recertify and get my skills signed off. From the first phone call up to the class this was a five-star experience. I called in and was able to get into the Skills Testing Class and Chris was awesome and very friendly, you can tell they are about taking care of their students and making sure they receive the best education. The classroom environment was very friendly and nice when I walked in they were currently teaching an EMT basic course and made me feel very welcome while I was waiting for my class to start. My mother recently did infant/adult CPR at CPR and More and loved it. We are expecting our first child and when my mom found out we were doing a CPR class (in NorCal) for infants, she wanted to find a great place to take a class as well. Things she liked: she was able to get a great rate ($25) for a last minute special they were running (follow them on facebook for those announcements), class size was small, instructor was professional and bright, class structure was informative but not overwhelming, location was convenient for her in Rancho Cucamonga. One of the main reasons she chose CPR and More was that the schedule was more openly available and flexible since they run so many classes; the city only has CPR once a month. The teacher introduced himself without a mask, an dI asked him if they were going to fo,low CDC guidelines for indoor masking. He siad no. I walked back to the registraiton desk and asked for my money back and left, after commenting that I was surprised and disappointed that a training class for healthcare providers was not following CDC guidelines To protect participants from Covid. Just recently took the accelerated EMT class I have to say it was challenging at times but Chris is a great instructor who will find a way to break it down for you to understand. I personally have not been in a school setting in over six years and struggled the first week of class he pulled me to the side helped me find different study techniques to become successful in taking tests.
