This is literally thee worst way to finance your vehicle. They charge you a $7.50 service fee to pay online, on a website that I swear intentionally makes it hard to pay and won't load, or says your internet connection is bad, and so on, just so they can try and collect late fees. If you pay on the phone they charge you $9. I like to pay on my vehicle twice per month to pay down the principle and they make it impossible. I would never finance another vehicle with them if I knew that's who the dealership used, and I will be refinancing as soon as possible. I'm dreading the nightmare that trying to get them to give me the information I need to refinance will be. read more

Beware: You can not make a loan payment online without being charged a $7.50 service fee. You can not make a payment by phone without being charged a $9 service fee. The only way to make a payment without being charged a ridiculous fee is to pay via snail-mail. With every other loan I've ever had, I always round up the payment & have the difference allocated towards principal only. You can't even do that with CULS. If you want to pay extra towards the principal, you must snail-mail an additional check to a completely different address in a different town. It seems as though they make this super inconvenient for customers so that we are less likely to pay loans off sooner than maturity dates. Which almost seems unethical. Their interest rate for an auto loan was low. However, I would've paid a higher interest rate for convenience, had I known then what I know now. read more

Their website has absolutely NO options in terms of past due statements or any other financial information, it is as basic as it gets. They said they were updating their website to have that info in the future - we'll see. Their entire structure is not user friendly, I refuse to use them ever again. This company charges a $7.50 added service fee EVERY MONTH for absolutely nothing! In other words, when I pay them electronically, with NO ASSISTANCE from a representative, I pay whopping $7.50 extra as an added service fee to my normal payment with interest. No other company charges anything close to that amount as a fee to pay them electronically. I dont know how this is even legal. They charge on the loan so that the pay off amount does not go down if you want to pay off the vehicle. In other words, you pay a year or two and still owe the total at purchase. They make it next to impossible to get in touch too. I contacted CULS today after I noticed double my car payment had been withdrawn from my account. This was my second payment made to this company. I set up automatic payments upon receiving my loan packet from them shortly after purchasing my car. I initially called to set up payments, but the prompts said there would be a long wait and that I could set up online, which I did. I set my payment to come out on the 15th of the month and was given no indication from the portal there would be any late fees. Upon calling today, I was told my payment was outside the grace period so I paid late fees for my first payment and the one that was just withdrawn. The double payment was because the payment date was outside this window as well so was applying the next amount due as well. I explained to the customer service rep that I was not aware of any late fees as none are indicated anywhere on the website. Even in the payments tab, it says "Late fees balance: $0.00". The CSR said because I did not speak with an account rep upon setting up the payment, these fees cannot be refunded. Had I spoken to someone, there would be something that could be done. This is extremely poor customer service as the only way a user can be aware of the late fees is by viewing a paper statement OR downloading the app. The same information should be available to all users regardless of how they choose to view statements and payments. Further, if the company allows users to manually set recurring payments, they should be notified that the date they have chosen will incur late fees if applicable. There is no mention of the grace period window or any indication of late fees whatsoever. This is misleading and an issue of accessibility for all users. Expected outcome: I would like to be refunded the 2 late fees I received and I would also expect the website to be updated to include downloadable statements with all payment information OR late fee information included in the payment history. The recurring payment section of the website should also include notification if the user has selected a date that will incur late charges. read more

After much difficulty enrolled that finally required finding a phone number that actually has human interaction, I got enrolled. I made my first payment manually online. That's a $7.50 extra fee (as is drafting and anything but a mailed in payment - please allow two weeks for processing after cashing) I then tried a bank autopay and again, $7.50 + 2 weeks for processing + mail time. So finally, I enrolled online for autodraft. Six weeks later I receive a bill saying my two autodrafts were not taken out. $22.50 late fee on one. (where's the other late fee?) Asked the young lady if I was enrolled in auto pay. No, I am not. Said I wished to enroll so this does not happen again. Oh, No. For that I must go online! Are you kidding me? So, I thought; maybe there's no more problems with CULS. Just this month, they've taken the entire site down with no redirects given to their customers; so customers just have to hope the mail-in payments make it, to where they are supposed to go. If I could give 0 stars I would. This company is in the dark ages of technology. You cannot make payments online for your car loans, so you have to call in. The automated system is supposed to be faster... not with CULS. The automated payment system with CULS is retarded, the system talks very slow and it never remembers your info. So you have to enter your long 17 digit account # and the whole process to make a payment over the phone takes about 8 mins and 35 secs which is ridiculous. Reading all of these reviews is like "WOW". I've had a car loan from CULS since November and thankfully haven't had any issues. I log on with my username and password, click on "my account" and pay my car loan online. There is a service fee. I've only called them once and couldn't get in touch with anyone after being on hold for over an hour so I drove down to their location in College Park and spoke to the nice women working in small office. Their website IS pointless if you need to do anything other than pay your loan from what I've seen and their customer service number is pointless to call if you need help. Hopefully they improve in a major way and have more people answering calls with better customer service since they don't have an actual location for people to go to when in need of help or more info. read more

I bought my Jeep used in 2014.and I was upside down on my trade - CULS financed my entire loan - did it for 7 years and I have zero complaints - they waived late fees when I made mistakes. Understood that I had issues when I was deployed. They were always 100 percent professional and customer focused. I wish I could use them everytime I buy a vehicle. We've been paying by mail for over a year now and didn't have any problems but the April statement arrived late as we did not receive it until nine days AFTER the due date. So not surprised to see a late charge on the next bill which did arrive on time. Just wondering if it's been anyone else's experience to get statements by mail with no time to return payment before the due date. I do not feel safe making online payments. I realize we are responsible for making payments on time. But with tax time on our minds, we simply missed it. They say I need to register a brand new account, however to do so you have to verify your phone number with a pin that they text you....however the text never comes. Looking into refinancing with someone else. I setup my account and monthly payments and December my first payment was made. Now for The month of January I was charged a late fee and when I asked why they said that my checking account info was wrong - well how did you take out my payment for the first month CULS? Nothing has changed. The customer service reps weren't helpful; they said that my bank declined the payment. When I contacted my bank, they reported that no attempt was made and nothing was declined to CULS. When I called the CULS rep back I stated that I went on the website to confirm my checking account info was correct and asked if they would contact me when it processed. I haven't even made my first payment with this company due to an error in their system and they are already a huge disappointment. My due date for my car payment is on the 5th of every month and I set up automatic payments to be taken out on the 3rd of each month. I signed up automatic payments on 31 AUG 2017 to start my first payment on 3 SEP 2017. I saved confirmation of the setup. I checked my USAA bank account on 5 Sep 2017 to see if the transaction had been done and it hadn't. I was told to give it a few days. I called CULS to see if they had received the payment and the female CULS customer service representative stated that they had.received the payment on their end so I proceeded to call USAA and they said they didn't see anything. I waited a few more days to see if it was just a delay in the system. I decided to log onto the CULS website 12 SEP 2017 where it stated that I was past due on my payment and it stated that I owed a $30 late fee. Their website is pure crap. I have never been more inconvenienced in my life and I HAVE NEVER BEEN LATE ON A PAYMENT FOR ANYTHING EVER IN MY LIFE. I have screenshots and evidence of everything. I am willing to sue and go to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) if they cause me any issues depending on CULS response to the issue. Since they are closed at the moment, I am currently waiting on a response to my email.I wil update this post with the results. Update: DON'T go to this company if it is offered. Please heed this warning. I thought credit unions were professional and places that were for their customers. CULS IS BOTTOM OF THE BARREL WHEN IT COMES TO CREDIT UNIONS. This company does not even deserve one star! They charge you a convivence fee of $7.90 to make an online payment. I tried to set up bill pay through my bank and this company does not accept online payments and a check would have to be mailed from my bank. When you do mail a check it takes them at least two days to update your account showing the payment! You can set up auto pay with them at no charge but I would not trust them to have access to my bank account! If you have a choice, walk away from this company and find a better finance company! Owed less than my previous payment amount at payoff. They took the full payment amount any way and took over 30 days to refund me my money. Finally paid off my car back in August 2019. They never sent me the title. Had to call them to ask them to send it to me. They stated they will process it to sent it to me. It is now January 2020. I have to start out by saying i have not been overly impressed with this bank, until the last two days. I purchased a new car and my old and new loan was with CULS. I forgot to put a stop payment on my automatic withdrawals on my old loan and it was taken from my account just 4 days before my new loan payment was due. I called and worked Kenyatta Kimble and she worked so hard and took my request so personal and made sure that my over payment on my old account was put towards my new one instead of waiting 6-7 weeks for the money to be sent by mail back causing me to essentially make a double payment. She went above and beyond for me and personally called me with the news. Thank you much, deff giving CULS another chance with my auto loan and won't be refinancing with a new bank. read more

I was not impressed at all with this loan company. I tried from Day 1 to set up automatic draft and the website would tell me I didn't have a loan with them. Of course they wanted their payment on time but I would pay over the phone and be charged a processing fee. Are they charged per phone call? I think not! Then I would make my loan payment on time, it would come out of my checking account, and then I would receive a letter saying that my loan was past due. I received a letter every month!!! The management is awful. The customer service is even worse. Had I know this company was as horrible as it was, I would have never borrowed from them. I've been making payments to CULS LLC for about 2 years now and it only continues to become increasingly difficult with each passing month. Communication from this company is NON-EXISTANT. For example, they did not inform me that they did away with free one-time payments. That was left to be a lovely surprise when I logged in to pay my bill today. Unless you pay by check (It's 2019, who even has those anymore?) or set up monthly auto-pay (I have a loan because sometimes my bank account is lacking, duh!), you will be paying a $7.50 processing fee on top of your monthly payment. (Because obviously people who take out loans can afford to pay extra each month?) Also, if you want to pay more than the monthly balance each month to try and get ahead on being debt-free, you can ONLY pay by check and must write on it that the extra cash you're sending is intended for the principal, NOT to pay extra interest. Their website is PAINFUL and USELESS! You need to have your account number as well as your last 4 digits of your VIN and the last 4 digits of your SSN just to see your balance. If you want to actually pay your bill, you need to log-in using different credentials and enter your life story. There was a brief moment in time where I was set up with paperless billing and would have my statements emailed to me (to save the trees and all) and low and behold, the link would be un-usable = having to call to make a payment =pay more! Other times I would have to log-on several days in a row and make multiple attempts to pay my bill due to the website being down or other "Errors". Seriously, before the car dealership you're going though looks for creditor options, save yourself the headache and hassle and request they bypass CULS LLC (unless you enjoy paying to pay your bills).
