When you order flowers from a distance, you never really know exactly what you're going to get--or even how smoothly the delivery will go--so I was definitely hoping for the best. For my 21st birthday this year, back in September, I received this beautiful bouquet of flowers. To say they were stunning, is an understatement. They took the words out of my mouth, there was surprise elements everywhere. Everywhere you looked, there was something beautiful happening. You could tell it was thoughtfully articulated. The amount of flowers I feel, exceeded what we even paid for. Now, when I found out they were from The curly willow, I was so excited as I had worked with them when I was younger. My school had a program of community service, and they allowed me to come oversee them for a day. They were immensely welcoming, and I remember meeting their awesome daughter. They let me pick out a snack and drink from their bar for free, showed me how to assemble everything from bouquets, to dogs made out of flowers! He showed me our local flower supply, and was very real about the industry. This is something I treasure and I still have these flowers, they dried out perfectly. This is my second glowing review and I have to say, I am looking for reasons to send my mom flowers...because the shear joy she gets when receiving these stunning arrangements lasts for weeks! Mothers Day this year was so easy, as I just called weeks ahead and knew I did not have to worry about what was going to surprise my mom. I really appreciate that I can trust Jim to let his talent and expertise design the best possible arrangement! For me, it is nice to work with someone who is so kind, thoughtful and a local vendor! I asked for a simple, delicate flower headband, blush flowers--more greens than flowers. I even sent a photo of what I wanted. I paid $50 for a monstrosity of roses with no blush or pink--and purple, yes purple, accents. Purple was nowhere on the pallette. I thought this high end florist could pull it off, but it was so large and heavy that the bride wouldn't even wear it. Very disappointing. Yes--the photo is not a centerpiece. I am so grateful for their responsiveness and beautiful flowers! 3/31/2012 review I called on a Thursday asking if I could order an arrangement of 60 tulips for a 60th birthday on Monday. I knew it might be tough since it was last minute, but I talked to Jim and he was super helpful about pricing and a even gave me a few ideas to consider. I called back on Friday and placed the order, again super easy and they even remembered my call from the day before. When I forgot to give the details for the card, they called twice and then once we connected, Jim walked out the door to deliver the flowers right then and there and he did it himself! My Mom called crying saying how beautiful they were but since it was a windy day, she was also impressed that he didn't just leave the vase to be blown over, but instead created a little shelter for it on our deck - such amazing service - thank you for helping to make a wonderful day for my Mom! read more

I am so grateful for Jim and Curly Willow. I admittedly know nothing about flowers, and after visiting a few other florists I was discouraged. All of the others seemed disappointed that I didn't have ideas beyond colors I was interested in, and were much bubblier and too flowery (no pun intended). Jim was direct, had great ideas, and welcomed the chance to put together bouquets without much input from me beyond color. He was efficient, and his prices were in line with others in the area. On the day of, I was blown away by the bouquets! My maid of honor, who works part time at a wedding venue, told Jim they were the most beautiful she had ever seen! Jim also encouraged me to purchase votive candles from an independent website, saying they would be cheaper than he could do, but then lit all of them for me when setting up flowers at the reception (and all for only $50 set up fee total!) The bud vases he placed on each table at the reception were understated and perfect, and the boutonnieres were perfect, too! Our moms and grandmas also loved their corsages! Jim was patient, meeting with me twice to discuss details, and very responsive to e-mail. I absolutely love this place. I don't live in the area anymore so when Mother's Day and my mom's birthday come around, I ALWAYS order from here. They know the area really well so delivery is always easy. (especially since our address isn't exactly gps compatible) The one time, my mom wasn't home so they went the extra mile and actually called to make sure she got the gift basket and to call them back and let them know if she didn't. Also, for your reference, they have quite a lot of options for gifts. I generally always go for the custom gift baskets. I know she loves their snacks (popcorn, crackers etc). We recently contacted Curly Willow for floral arrangements for our father's funeral. We chose Curly Willow at the suggestion of the funeral director, who also suggested several other florists in the Greensburg area. We were skeptical at first, after viewing the Curly Willow website, we observed what seemed to be a predominant amount of attention paid to chimes. We first chose one of Curly Willow's competitors. We left there unimpressed. We decided to give Jim and Curly Willow a try and we were left with quite an impression. Jim was very helpful and was able to present us with solid ideas and a vision of what the flowers would look like for our father's memorial. The prices were very reasonable and Jim assured us that obtaining the various types of flowers we requested was not a problem. On the day of the viewing we saw what Jim and the staff at Curly Willow had created. It was a series of beautiful arrangements that were stunning as stand-alone compositions and were also very complementary with the other arrangements Jim and his staff created. If you choose Curly Willow you should be open to suggesting a theme to Jim, but also allow him to tap into his experience and expertise as a designer of floral arrangements. If you are the type of person who must exercise control down to the very smallest detail in your floral arrangements, then I don't believe Curly Willow is your best bet. If you are, however, able to trust in Jim's creativity to deliver on your concept and theme, then Curly Willow is who you should turn to in your time of need. read more

I ordered windchimes for a funeral. I was highly disappointed in the quality and display that was poorly decorated with no silk ribbon. I made Jim aware and he apologized with no question as to how to make things better. The other windchimes at the funeral were beautifully decorated.
