My birthday was this week and so my husby called here to get me an appointment for my hair color & facial. Let me tell y'all - I'm from the south and am so used to that kind of kindness and warmth and all the girls here have that down! I was here from 11:00 to almost 4:45 with my various services and the one thing I consistently noticed beyond the warmth and kindness was how much these ladies are "home" to a lot of folks in the community. Everyone knew everyone coming in whether they were their particular client or not and everyone again inquired about how each person was doing whether they were tending to them or not. I often miss home & here I felt immediately like I could've been back home being tended to. Now - beyond even all of that - my facial and brow wax/tint with Taylor? - pretty sure that was her name but forgive me if not, was so relaxing and perfect. Just what was needed. My hair - again forgive me - I think it was Madison? - oh y'all she was so attentive and cared so much that it turned out as I wanted. She was perfect and my hair after not having been done in forever looked stunning walking out of there. Very thankful to have found this spot and will be back! I say BEWARE! I didn't take heed of previous complaints. Although the stylist was sweet and kind,…read morethe haircut was not. Unless my shoulders are shaped like a roller coaster, the cut was crudely uneven. This was a basic cut and still fell short of a professional standard. Initially, I took a supportive and encouraging approach to get the poor haircut fixed; however, when I raised the issue to the owner, the only remedy she would concede was to return to the same person for a re-try. This seemed similar to sending an entrée back to the kitchen and hoping the cook won't tamper with the food. It is too risky and could result in a worse outcome. Their customer relations is focused on themselves NOT on their customers. In addition, the owner stated it was against the law to cut hair outside the salon without a special travel license which she volunteered they did not have. The owner's statement seems to indicate that she has not kept up with Florida laws that pertain to her business. Florida Statutes 477.0263 that was passed over 5 years ago enables cosmetologists to cut hair outside the salon without any special license. Florida Administrative Code R. 61G5-20.0015 specifies when and how to perform cosmetology or specialty services outside a licensed salon. Just because I gave your salon a try doesn't mean I am a complete fool. A reputable business would have offered their customer a refund if they couldn't find 20 minutes to fix their mistake any sooner than 4 weeks out. Making good on a botched haircut that you already got paid for should take precedent. Strange how the consult appointment got booked in less than a week.
