What I love about going to Dr. Goduco's clinic is that even though she has to deal with so many patients in one day, she still greets everyone with a cheerful expression the moment they enter. While other people may be scared of their orthodontist, I feel confident and safe with Dr. Goduco because she seems genuinely dedicated to building a good rapport between her and her patients. She's convinced me that the dentist's chair doesn't have to be a scary place for children, adolescents, or even adults. Plus, she knows what her patients want. There's a TV in her clinic where you can watch the latest seasons of Modern Family, Fresh Off the Boat, Adventure Time, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and other TV shows and movies while she works on your teeth. Just saying. Honestly, I used to have really gross dental hygiene until she helped me realize what the stakes were if I didn't improve my habits. It is a well organized, efficient place. However, they do not have much equipment there, aside from x-ray. So for things such as ultrasound they refer you elsewhere. Also, the appearance of the place is slightly dilapidated. A lot of the furniture, ceiling panels etc. are in need of repair. The hygiene is not what it should be either. Their restroom lacks soap, toilet paper and paper towels and there are no dispensers for hand sanitizer for patients can use. You'd expect a higher level of hygiene from a medical facility.

She's really one of the nicest, sweetest people you'll meet and she has her own daughter so she really understands how a kid's mind works when it comes to dental visits. Dr. Jo specializes in orthodontics and pediatric dentistry and is a member of the Philippine Pediatric Dental Society. She holds office in Unit 604 Medical Towers Makati along VA Rufino St in Legaspi Village. My daughter was pretty open about sitting in the dentist chair and getting her mouth cleaned. Dr. Jo was singing to her while brushing her teeth (so she gets used to timing her brushing for two minutes) and to get her comfortable as well. After the cleaning and the varnish, she was given a treat and a small toy because she was so well-behaved. We then had a long discussion of what needs to be done to prevent cavities and what we need to do about the early on-set of children's carries. It's great to work with a dentist that your kids can be comfortable with yet have an open, professional discussion about her dental plan. I highly recommend her and we can't wait to do her follow up visit this weekend.

So to avoid this problem, what the nice people over at the clinic and my mom did was to let me get used to the chair at a very young age, they'd let me sit there and watch while my mom had her teeth cleaned. I've been going there since then and I have always been happy with their service. They're really nice people and they would call you ahead of time to remind you of your next appointment, I mean you can opt not to go they'd just remind you that it's time to get your teeth cleaned. They offer other dental services there as well and if you need a specialist, they know the best ones in town and they'll gladly point you to the right direction.

The waiting area is small and cozy with decorative plants and small wooden sculptures that warm up the place. Dr. Alicia tan has two very friendly staff, which are well-trained to provide anything that a stressed-out patient needs. My girlfriend has very little tolerance for pain. She can barely get through their standard teeth cleaning procedure without crying out in pain. I laughed out loud when the assistants gave her a stress ball to squeeze during the entire procedure, because they knew she was coming. Although she still ended up crying throughout her oral prophylaxis, Dr. Tan was still very considerate (and patient), and allowed multiple breaks during the process to let her gargle with ice cold water. Because of her great patience and concern for her patients, Dr. Alicia should be on the top of your list when thinking of a great dentist for your kids, or for those who still act like kids.

A few of my brothers had their teeth pulled here, one for his wisdom teeth. Dr. Sotomil made retainers for one of my brothers. And he also made my tooth fillings. One time, when part of my face swelled because of an infection (I think it was gums), he also treated it and told me to eat ice cream afterwards - a much welcome advice! There is a reason our family keeps coming back to him - he does his work well, and quite fast too. When I get my teeth cleaned, I really feel that they are clean, with nothing stuck in between. I got my teeth cleaned a few times by other dentists, and my teeth didn't seem as thoroughly cleaned the same way they are when I go to Dr. Sotomil.
