The pastoral setting was the perfect counterpoint to the monotony of highway traffic. Our accommodation, the Strawberry Suite, was outfitted beautifully, upto and including the perfectly sized soaking tub, where i luxuriated until dinnertime! There is a charming dining room for hotel guests, what a treat! My husband started with a rich and delicious classic french onion soup followed by a delightfully moist pork chop. I had a mixed green salad with heirloom tomatoes and perfectly ripe avocado. Of several offerings, I went with Chef Lynette's apple vinaigrette....great choice! My chicken on the bone, as requested, was a "melt in your mouth" experience. We ordered all of the sides...sautéed haricot vert, oven roasted Brussels Sprouts, honey glazed carrots (not too sweet) & fluffy, butter rich mashed potatoes. The bread, my downfall, was amazing...crusty sourdough with a dusting of asiago cheese giving just the right amount of crusty crunch! We finished the meal with apple pie served in mini cast iron skillets...adorable presentation & perfect crust with crystalized sugar on top. Spot on tea service! As for the inn, our room was "old" and while I was expecting an older experience I was not expecting cracks in the walls, a lamp on the ceiling with a chunk out of it, a broken window pane and a old a/c unit in the room that made the whole room feel damp.... The room also smelled so badly of mildew that I'd like to know how the department of health allows the hotel to operate.... No, I will never stay here again.... It should probably be shut down due to the scam nature of the whole experience....
