Would not recommend. They refused to clean our patrol vehicle. I have sense spoken to 2 other auto detailing companies, West Coast and Primeire, that said they would do the cleaning. To clarify, we do patient transports. A patient vomited in the back seat. The owner said he doesn't clean vomit, feces or blood. After seeing this review the owner of the company threatened to sue me, for slander. It's also odd, but the owner seems obsessed with the bad review. I posted this originally 8 months ago, and just got an update. If you deal with this business and have a negative view, prepare for harassment and bullying. read more

I got my old car detailed in the spring and David did a fantastic job! Although the car was 11 years old, it looked showroom ready when I went to pick it up. I didn't realize how dirty the seats had gotten from hauling my senior dog around because I vacuumed the car once a week and thought I had kept them clean. They were practically a different color because of all the dirt David had gotten out of them. I was very pleased with the work that was done, especially for the price! Now that I have my new (to me) car, I am planning on returning to The Detail Doctor to have him clean this UPDATE: David cleaned my new (to me) which had a strong smell of cigarette smoke & some other unidentified horrible smell. It looks wonderful & there is no more smell. He used his ozone machine on it & said if the smell came back within the next month I could bring the car back & he would use the ozone machine again for free. I am a brand new Lyft driver (one of the few in Eureka), so I hunted for an auto detailer with expertise and value. David at The Detail Doctor is absolutely awesome ... very detail-oriented, willing to negotiate the price by what the customer needs done, knowledgeable, experienced, easy to talk to, and extremely thorough! I was very pleased with the result - and he even pointed out some things about my car I hadn't known, as in someone had taken the time and effort to paint both the carpets and some of the plastic moldings (the ones in question are black). He also said he found a LOT of sand in the carpet, using a tool he has that deep cleans into the fibers, and I haven't been near the beach in that car (bought in January). I want to start by saying my car is normally spotless. I've recently volunteered to be an advocate for children in foster care who have pretty bad behavior issues (mother is an addict). They had meltdowns and ended up with sand all over them. This was pretty tramatic for everyone, including my car, that has NEVER seen sand. There wasn't alot of sand, but it was in the door jam area and a bit of the carpet. I probably made the mistake of not taking everything out of the car, but I hadn't planned on stopping that day. I asked for a quote through Yelp with very specific detail as to my needs and car model. Got this response. "David R. Price estimate: $50 My prices vary from $50 to $500. Please come by my shop and we can go over the best package for you. 4075 Broadway Eureka all a phone call to 442-3597 or 672-9596" This is not a quote at all. Anyway, I stop by the shop at about 12:30p. David was busy cleaning a car, but walked over to me, asked me what I needed. I asked him for a quote and he points to a menu board, says "those are my prices" and turns to walk away. I honestly thought I was being punked. He wasn't friendly at all. I told him that we had spoke online and he told me to stop by. He said he was really busy, and I would have understood if he asked me to come back. He didn't. He walked to my car, opened the passenger door and I started to tell him what I services I would like. He cuts me off, and says "let me do what I do!". In other words, shut the F up! I was speechless. He says "is that sand?!" I said "yes". He raises his voice at me and says "YOU KNOW THAT'S DAMAGE!! SAND IS DAMAGE!!" What? Obviously there is a more customer friendly way of saying this. Again I was speechless. He said "I can tell by your face you're confused! Sand on the carpet is damage! If you were to take this car to Hawaii, they wouldn't accept it!" WHAT?!!! Ok, this started to sound like tweeker talk. He continues to say, "I won't be able to get all the sand up. It will be $300." He starts to walk away without even giving me an opportunity to make an appointment. I don't ever remember being so disrespected by a business owner. Having a bad day or a busy day are not reasons to talk down to your customers. It's unfortunate that good work and good customer service are not attributes of this business. read more

We had our 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid painted six weeks ago. After waiting for the paint 'to cure' we had David do a deep ceramic wax job on it. We had thought that the new paint looked great but now we can see that it wasn't quite so. In the sun our Highlander damn near sparkles! I bought a used car from a family friend and wanted it detailed so it would feel newer. I wasn't going to mention my allergies to dyes and preservatives assuming that they would only use the chemicals they are used to, but it came up in conversation with David and he volunteered to do a chemical free cleaning for me. I'm so happy that it came up and that he offered to do that because it made things a lot easier on me and I don't have to worry about having a reaction to the trace amounts of chemicals that would get on my skin from touching the car. It obviously isn't going to look quite as shiny nor have the same smell as if he had used the chemicals, but for me the trade off is totally worth it. The car looks beautiful and smells like nothing, which is how I like it. read more

Another 5-star all the way review for David!! I took my son's filthy, stinky SUV in and got it back looking AND smelling like new! He even fixed an issue with the console that was stuck open with something jammed underneath the cover! I had tried using 2 different kinds of spray cleaners on the leather seats that didn't even begin to get all the grime off, so I wasn't even sure it was possible to get it clean! He cleaned every nook and cranny, even in the back cargo area! I had the pleasure of meeting David's father and his son when I picked up the car and the whole family is very pleasant to deal with and very friendly. I had such a great and amazing experience at the Detail Doctor. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Dave and his crew are extremely friendly and professional experts at auto detailing! My car was covered in and out with red clay from the hills. I called Dave, left a message, and he called right back with an immediate opening for that day. I had called a couple other places before him, but they weren't able to get me in the same day. That was important because I was leaving to go on a trip for the holidays the next day, and I didn't want to drive or show up with a clay covered vehicle. I was a little later showing up than the time he had given me, and it wasn't a problem for him at all. I dropped my car off and in a few short hours, Dave had turned my work car into what looked like a brand new vehicle! If you know anything about red clay, you know it stains and orange/redish color on fabrics. I wasn't even sure if it would come out of the floor carpets, but sure enough, the Detail Doctor did the job! The prices are fair, and you will absolutely be more than satisfied with the outcome! My husband brought my car here to be detailed inside and out. The owner was super friendly! He did it all on one day and my card was a disaster on the inside. I have 2 small children that sit in the back seat. If your a mom you know what I'm talking about. Also I rarely clean the inside and I have owned this vehicle for 7 years. The inside looked brand new! The outside as well. I didn't originally want the outside done as the vehicle is old and is not in perfect conditions. An unexpected illness yielded vomit on the inside of my car. I figured I could get rid of it myself using typical cleaners from around the house. The Detail Doctor made my cars look great. Dave is a very friendly guy who enjoys what he does. He will come to your location and spends about an hour or so detailing your car for a reasonable rate (extremely reasonable if you get the Costco special). Higher priced details involve more precise cleaning and shampooing of the upholstery and carpets. The only problem with his service is it is easy to get hooked on it every few months when the car starts to get a bit dirty again. It was worth the cost just for what he did with my windshield. I've gone to the same detail business for 10 years until they retired this year and I was very disappointed. I've found my new detailing service for the foreseaeable future, though, and even my super picky dad was thrilled with his car after they were done. This is crab season. I thought i wrapped my crab well enough but no! Somehow it leaked in my pathfinder and down into crevasses. 4-5 days went by before calling David. He waved his detail wand. The Detail Doctor does just that, pays attention to the details. We had him do a detail job on our Harley Davidson which was in really poor shape. We could not believe the amount of work that he did to bring that bike back to it shining self. David was easy to deal, with flexible with the appointment opportunities, and conveniently located. I would recommend him to anyone for any job because we've also seen some of his car details which are nothing short of spectacular. For our Harley Davidson, he detailed each spoke in both wheels. Since we live on the coast, rust was a problem. The spokes now look brand-new. I don't hesitate at all to give him five star recommendation. read more
