This store is located near downtown Albion, just across the street from the public library. It is in the same building as the laundromat, so can be easily overlooked--but don't overlook it, as there are some great deals here! We were so fortunate to on a whim stop by on their dollar clothes sale day. Every clothes item in the store was just a dollar each, WHOA! :-O It isn't a huge thrift store, but we still found some great finds! The clothes are organized very well by item type/size, making it easy to peruse everything in a reasonable time. In addition to apparel, there are all of the other typical thrift store sections, including accessories, shoes, books, housewares, toys, games, dishes, bedding/curtains, artwork, decor, etc., and some furniture. I was particularly impressed with the dishes and china area. If I had less self-constraint and more room, some lovely new-to-me-china pieces would have definitely come home with me, hahaha. Overall, the regular prices here are very reasonable. Of course if you hit it on a dollar-deal-day, that is a phenomenal steal. But clothes regular prices were about $2 - $4 or $5 a piece. We live in the Buffalo burbs, and the thrift stores I frequent closer to home have regular prices about double that these days. So when we are in town at our camp, or maybe even just for a country drive to Albion on the off season, Main Street Thrift Store is well worth the adventure. Great deals, good assortment, tidy and well organized, and friendly staff--stop in to find some new-to-you treasures soon! :-)

It is a general store in every sense of that concept--they generally have a little bit of everything. Absolutely no food or beverages, not even gum or a soda case. But you'll find a bit of everything else, including ... ** Lots of fabrics, notions, and sewing supplies; bolts of fabric are cut-to-size for whatever length you need ** Cards, stationary, and a small assortment of books (mostly religious) ** Decorative glassware and knick-knacks ** General kitchen items (cookware, utensils, canning supplies) ** Grill and picnic supplies ** A few small electrics, like fans and light strings ** Small clothing section with mostly knits, sweats, and Amish hats ** Candles and candle holders ** Many natural soaps, lotions, and supplements ** Cleaning supplies and household paper products ** Garden and outdoor supplies, and some tools ** Toys and games ** Office supplies ... but definitely not limited to just that, you'll surely find more. Prices are very fair. I needed a couple basic plastic mixing bowls, and grabbed them here for $1.10 a piece. I also got some fly catcher strips for 5/$1, and a fork/whisk hybrid called a Fiskie for about three bucks. I'm eyeing a nice Chinese Checkers metal tin set, that was about $11. Next time, it will be mine! Attached to this same building is Lake Breeze Bicycle, a small bicycle shop in the basement of the general store, with its own separate entrance out back. I'll write a review for that portion of the business separately, but as a sneak-peek, it's a handy, well-priced store too. During COVID times, all other customers were masked and doing our best to stay distanced in the small store. The Amish women I've seen working at the register and fabric cutting area have been masked, too. It appreciate, even way out here in the sticks, folks still doing their part to help end this pandemic. If you find yourself in this part of Orleans county, and either want to browse for nothing in particular, or look for something in particular, chances are you may find it here at J C Miller General Store. And it will likely be a good deal!

From clothing, gear to the latest tips and tricks for a successful adventure it's here. The ammo area is very bare but that's everywhere right now. Lots of customers lined up to grab whatever they have. I enjoyed their gardening and bird area. Picked up a 10 pack of suet for a good price. Lots of birdhouses and feeders. Super cute seeing the store bunnies. They said in the spring time they get baby chicks... Up front by the register there's a few aisles of candy and snacks, took me back to my childhood. Great stuff. Staff was friendly and always asking if I needed assistance.
