I work in the medical industry so am very particular about where I go to be treated, and this location passed with flying colors. The location is new but the business is not. The owner has a few other locations in Michigan. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by Mark, who I later found out was one of the owners, and Jeremy one of the nurses. Both were incredibly kind and explained their options to me. Once I had completed my paperwork Jeremy took me back to start my iv. He did it seamlessly. After my iv was in Jeremy walked with me as I selected a room to relax in. There were multiple to choose from. I opted for the front room which was bright and welcoming. The couches were comfy and I there was a television for me to watch if I wanted. After I was settled Jeremy hooked my fluids up and I was running. During the infusion Mark and Jeremy checked in on me to make sure I was doing ok. They were beyond amazing!!! I highly recommend this place for all hydration/vitamin needs. They even offer NAD infusions which are truly life changing!!!! I wish I lived closer because this place would be a monthly stop for me. I can't say enough great stuff things it. I got off a plane at 5pm, called them at 5:15pm, was in the chair by 6pm, and was feeling human again by 6:20pm thanks to Julie. While this spot is a little more expensive than other wellness centers I have been to in the past, it is also probably one of the nicest ones, in that it just seems much less clinical and much more spa-like. I also really appreciated that they don't have music or television screens. The last thing I need when I am feeling uneasy is motion-induced sickness from flashing tv screens. Julie was kind and quick. She helped me fill out my paperwork and even was kind enough to look up my pharmacy's address for me. She usually does not work onsite because she does more house calls. I have studied alternative medicine for years. Shiatsu, Herbalism etc. I understood much of what he was saying but he would not stop talking at me regardless of many times I interrupted and said, 'I know about that'. He mentioned my possibly being anemic and I let him know that I had been a couple years ago but that it was no longer the case. He again launched into a lecture, even though it didn't apply to me. He asked me about my diet and I told him it was Paleo/Zone and that I eat very few simple carbs. A teaspoon or two of honey daily and a small handful of gluten free crackers a week. He didn't seem to believe me. He went on to say Paleo often included desserts, disregarding my very clear description of what I ate. He went on to talk to me about weight loss. Something I did NOT ask help with. Without knowing how I gained the weight it was clear he made assumptions on how I gained it. When I shared that my integrative doc told me that the Vyvanse another physician had prescribed, to help with my AF, killed my appetite, put me into starvation mode and that my body hoarded every calorie I ate. That this integrative doc said the best way to lose the weight was to stabilize the raging hypoglycemia that Vyvanse had created by eating small healthy meals, frequently. Dr. Cole admitted that he had never heard of this kind of body imbalance. So, how could he give advice without asking questions? And that was the crux of the matter. Lectures are the WORST form of education. I have run workshops and can tell you, education is a matter of keeping things simple and repeating the info. He was a horrible example of what is effective. I hung in there as long as I did because I had given my credit card info to make the appointment. After spending $350 I hoped that maybe something would shift. Unfortunately it did not. After my experience with him, I was passed along to one of his associates. He too started to lecture me. I informed him that I had taken 3 saliva tests that he had referred to and was well acquainted with the procedure. This assistant even said that I needed to bring in the test and do it there so that it would be clear that it was done correctly. It was very patronizing, as was Dr. Cole. I realized the assistant was only following Coles directives and let him wind down his speech. He seemed like a very kind person. I think this was the worst experience I have ever had in a doctor's office. The level of disconnect was tremendous. It was like dealing with a full blown Narcissist that couldn't hear anything outside his 'world' experience. I never returned. I swallowed my bile and the $350 loss. And I say run! There are better options out there like Docs outside the Box. Dealing with such arrogance has a psychological effect on patients.
