    One course from high wine
    Liz S.

Stayed at The Dylan for 5 days recently and it's such a cute, central hotel and the customer service is superb. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 is because the room was very general/standard small room, but everything else was amazing. The Dylan has great amenities such as a gym and high wine (instead of high tea they do high wine) and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful with bookings. With it being Amsterdam, the hotel also has a slew of bikes you can rent for $15 euro per day. One thing to note, you have to walk past the staff at the front desk to get into your room every time, and the hotel gate closes at night to where you have to be buzzed in by the front desk if you're coming in after midnight. So if you're in Amsterdam to party this might not be the hotel for you. They also have two incredible restaurants, one being a Michelin-Starred restaurant and the bar offers an extensive menu with salads, apps, and mains. With the great location, cute decor, extensive amenities, and incredible staff, the Dylan is a great option for a stay in Amsterdam!

Exposed wooden beam ceilings of the Loft Suite.

The Dylan is a great place to stay when in Amsterdam. I was in one of the Loft Suites and it was absolutely gorgeous. I really enjoyed the architecture of the room, being at the very top floor with the exposed wood beams. The room allowed for lots of natural light. My only complaint was that there wasn't much light in the bathroom area where I would get ready. However, they did have a lighted magnified mirror which was helpful. The bed was extremely comfortable with the pillow top for my mattress that I had requested in advance. They were happy to oblige me. The hotel also provided me with converters for electricity since I had forgotten mine. Excellent service! The Dylan is in a central location and I found it to be conveniently close to all of the places I wanted to sightsee at. I rented a bike and cruised around the city as if I were right at home being completely immersed in the Dutch culture. The hotel has a private boat canal tour available. The captain/tour guide was extremely nice and informative. Overall, it was a treat to stay at The Dylan. They definitely rolled out the red carpet for me. I'd be happy to visit there again and recommend it to my fellow Yelpers.

This place is very pretty. We only came in to order Hot Mint Tea and use the toilet. The servers were very attentive and very polite. The bathrooms are very clean and well maintained. To flush the toilet, you have to pull a chain from overhead. It was very retro.

We loved our stay here and will be back!! Adorable decor, friendly staff and great location. Service: if I could give them ten stars, I would. We had to change our dates and they were so flexible and accommodating. Then generally everyone is so friendly and helpful. We think the people in AMS are very nice but the service here is excellent. Location: they can brag there is a Michelin star restaurant in the hotel. Vinkels! Try it. Also very central to the city and everywhere you want to be. Amenities are great and they also offer 15 euro 24-hour bike rentals. Good deal! We will be back.

What a beautiful and charming hidden paradise! Amazing rooms, decor, comfort, food and service. Rooms have everything you can possibly need and then some. Hotel is centrally located and is on the canal. In here, it's all about the details. I have stayed at many different hotels in Amsterdam but this one is by far the best, much better than the Pulitzer which is around the corner. We highly recommend it!

An incredible hotel -- elegant and upscale but not pretentious, with astonishingly helpful and courteous employees. Pricey, yes, but worth the expense.

The hotel is very family-friendly, which made traveling with kids easy and stress-free. Service was excellent from the start--we arrived early after an overnight flight and were pleasantly surprised to be checked in early, which made a huge difference after traveling. Clean rooms, great amenities, and an unbeatable location. Would absolutely stay here again, especially for a family trip or a holiday visit to Amsterdam.

However, during our stay, a guest in another room opened their door because they could hear people waiting on the elevator. Service: + Everyone is well-trained. Anytime a minor hiccup arose (room was not serviced one day), it was quickly addressed. Elite recognition: + No major upgrades available (NUA denied). Fully sold out hotel during our stay. + M Club Lounge was very nice. Had some of the longest breakfast hours I have seen (6-11am), but was essentially the same thing each morning. It got busy during evening hours (5:30-7:30pm), with some minor variation in food. Heineken (and wines) available during evening canapes. + When room was serviced, given a Tony's Chocolonely bar and stroopwafels in a nice tin. Location: + 25 minute walk to Centraal. Along multiple tram lines.

Everyone I interacted with there was professional, helpful, and friendly. Unfortunately, the good service at the front desk didn't extend to the rest of the hotel. The bar and Lotti's restaurant were both consistently understaffed, and the service was extremely slow. Lotti's also seemed to be out of a lot of the main dishes, even though the menu is already pretty limited. As for the rooms, they were okay, but felt a little worn and could really use some updating. Nothing terrible, but for what the hotel charges, I think you should be able to expect a bit more comfort and quality. After checking out the W Hotel nearby, which was much nicer for a similar price, I couldn't help but feel disappointed. For nearly $4500 after taxes for three nights in two rooms at the Hoxton, I honestly felt a bit cheated. Again, the front desk team deserves credit, but overall, I think the Hoxton needs to step up its game to justify these rates.

It hadn't changed since Mata Hari (First World War female spy) had stayed there. As we were visiting Amsterdam again I decided, on this trip, to spoil us a little. On booking I was a little concerned that the Hard Rock organisation had taken this hotel over. So with trepidation I took the chance. OK, remember, we are oldies so can be hard to please some tell us. On arrival, the outside hadn't changed other than the bar now stretched out a little and there was service from the restaurant outside. Reception was so swift by a fantastic bubbly young lady who sorted out a room although we were three hours before the normal signing in. I wish I could remember her name. Walking to our room I noticed the architecture hadn't changed but the decoration was wonderful with so much rock music memorabilia. We LOVED it. The room, overlooking the canal, was a lot smaller than years ago but, shrug, space has to be filled. The room was more than adequate with a wonderful bathroom with walk-in shower. Breakfast was in the dining hall which was a high-light years ago. I was so pleased to see that none of the wonderful art deco had been lost. The President Hotel in Prague had ripped it all out there, sob. Here, there was modernisation, but the windows, walls and lights remained. Obviously the designer had looked and thought 'wow, we can't get rid of this'. Good on him/her. A fantastic stay and on our next visit we know where to stay. Really wish I could remember that young ladies name because she made that day for us. Hi

As soon as my cab stopped in front, a man immediately came down the stairs to help me with my bag and escort me to the check in area. They asked if I wanted anything to drink and I said of course champagne! They gave me two! I checked in with Lisa who was amazing! She had me pick out a scent for my room. What? I didn't know that existed! Super fun! My room wasn't ready because I had booked late even though it was 3pm but I didn't mind waiting, especially when they gave me that 2nd glass of champagne. When I got my room, Lisa and Fae escorted me to the room to make sure I liked it and it was beautiful. I loved how the light came into the bathroom. On that note the bathtub was so nice I almost fell asleep in it! You receive welcome chocolates in the shape of Amsterdam shoes which were so cute and delicious! I ordered room service as the bar only served snacks and did not want to go to the restaurant by myself as it was really open. I got the Waldorf Astoria Burger which was amazing and so good! I'd go back to this hotel just for that burger itself. The next day I also had the breakfast and was able to get the whole tray of assortments and all the juices and coffee I wanted PLUS another dish! All complimentary with my Hilton Diamond status. I ordered the French toast and everything was delicious! Obviously I couldn't eat it all but was able to take some left to the room for later. I also had a spa appointment while here. Massage was great and the masseuse mentioned to see a physical therapist to help my lower back pain that I was complaining about as she said it was coming from my glutes, legs, knees. I've seen a couple of masseuses in the last two years in the states and one in Canada and NONE had ever even mentioned that that could help. I love this! Very professional staff. The spa also very serene with sauna, jacuzzi, and pool. They have a door to the garden which I'm assuming is beautiful in summer but I was here in February so it was freezing! When I checked out it was with Lisa again and she was great as usual and the guys helped me with my bags again when my uber came. They let me sit in the other room and said they'd let me know when it was here. Very nice. I did not want to leave. Haha!
