I should include that half the furniture in my house was bought here over the years. I don't know if they have changed hands or management lately...they used to have the friendliest, most helpful staff. I have made multiple calls trying to inquire about an appliance, as is an option on their phone menu, and has always been a kindly provided service in the past. Today, I was sent to a message system and received an unrequested text to my phone, without me providing my number or a request...about scheduling a time to pick up furniture. Maybe they switched to AI, cause my whole experience with them has been complicated, obtrusive and infuriating. I do not want to drive nearly an hour to gamble on whether they have any of the appliances in that I need to replace the ones in my own household. This used to be a store that was there to help and benefit the community, save trash from the dumps and make surviving more in reach for families and individuals in our area. It seems as though they have moved from their part in the community service and care section. I was treated rudely and with disregard, when they used to be helpful and kind. What a disappointment and contrast to the service they used to proudly provide to our island communities. Kindness, respect and compassion makes people's lives better and you used to be able to depend on that from the East Cooper Home store. That, it seems is now a thing of the past. Perhaps they are busy with the designers in Mt Pleasant, and don't have time for the working families that make up and serve the island communities of Charleston. read more

Oh me oh my I love this place. I thought it used to be the old Habitat for Humanity. I'm not sure if it's still affiliated with that or if it never was or whatever but who cares... Let me tell ya... this is the place to be if you're looking for consignment furniture! I hate to even leave a review saying this, considering I am still wanting to find some specific pieces for my house and I don't want other people getting there before me and taking what I'm looking for, but I should not be a gatekeeper. I love the furniture and other variety of items (lighting fixtures, televisions, computer monitors) that they have available. Most items appear to be in pretty good quality. It seems like if you are a seller this would also be a good place. I think I saw signs talking about how they will come pick up the furniture from your home in one of their large trucks. Having needed to do something like that before, I can tell you that's a pretty good option to have. This is easily my favorite furniture consignment shopping in Mount Pleasant. And definitely top three of all time. I have never purchased anything from here so that may be a different story when J do, but check back at some point, I'm sure that will change. read more

The store is very well organized and maintained and the lady I met in the book section even spent 30 minutes with me helping me find books I would like! I was in the area and wanted to check it out. It is a warehouse setting but was clean and arranged neatly. Definitely a large selection of furniture and perfect for the furniture flipper. Most pieces were banged up and needed TLC but there were some great clean pieces too. The older staff was extremely friendly and wanted to help in anyway they could. It reminds me of a much more clean/organized Habit for Humanity because of the products available. I would certainly stop by again when I am in the area. read more

This is a great place to come and check out what others didn't want anymore. Lots of floor space and tons of inventory spread all over the place. JJ & Patrick helped me out and we're very creative on how to load two bulky items in my car. This would be a great place to come and relax and just scope out all kinds of cool stuff. I've got my eye on a few things but no room left in the car today. The guys are great. They don't rush you and they take care with the things that they load. Highly recommend. read more

This is a wonderful place to find gently used furniture, house building materials, and home accessories at fair prices. They have a large inventory and one can easily spend 15 minutes wandering around. read more

The worst Wanted to donate Bath cabinets and countertops and sinks with Great fixtures. They would not come by and pick up Was told if I wanted a receipt for the donation I had to drop off myself .. No means to deliver No truck So I took it to the dump. I thought this place was to help folks and all monies made went to charitable organizations. The stuff I had was like new. Never again. This is one of my more favored Restore stores close to the Charleston area. Closed due to COVID-19 and hopefully will open again soon. Nice selection of flooring, light fixtures, windows/doors, and furnitures/furnishings. I guess everything is relative in terms of their pricing but I find it reasonable. HOWEVER i can not express just how personally hated i felt going to check out. today is supposed to be their grand reopening! & the woman at checkout (blonde & middle aged) was so smug & cold to me. this individual should not be at the front lines. i have never been to a habitat for humanity before, & reasonably, i had questions. she was unbelievably snarky & short w me. she easily has the worst customer service i have ever experienced & i'm talking like WORSE than gas stations! i honestly feel bad for her because she is probably a miserable human, but not at work, she was so unprofessional. i don't want to be that karen that says i won't be back. but i won't, because honestly her negative energy made me feel like sh*t & i'm legit afraid of her. she had absolutely no empathy. sociopathic energy man. not gunna lie. she reminded me of what i'd image being bullied all highschool would feel like, but in all of one reaction of two minutes. read more

Go to the one downtown or the one in Johns Island instead. This one is the most overpriced one that I've ever been to (in SC, NC, PA, UT). Some old items cost as much or more than the new ones. I think they miss the point of what Habitat is supposed to be. Staff is also not as friendly or helpful as they are downtown and Johns Island. read more

Its a big one. Huge. Monumental. You want to lose yourself, this is the place. Very top heavy on furniture and housewares. The part that does not put this treasure hunt over the top is organization. Yes, there are sections for each type of item, but within each section is a bit of confusion. The children's books and other books are on opposite sides. Many of the CD's are missing CD's and the housewares are all scattered about. There is AC, which in a warehouse setting in Charleston is a huge plus!!!! Have frequented this store for years buying bedroom sets for kids to paint and take off to college. Stuff goes fast and you have to grab it when it gets on the floor. Workers are all hard working. Very nice and help load your car. Today I bought 2 slabs of the acacia countertop butcher block for a house we're redoing. Can't beat the price. This is THE best place to go for thrift store furniture finds and related items. They always have a great selection of items in all conditions, from those needing some TLC renovation to nearly new condition. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I do dread taking a left onto Long Point Rd. when leaving, but this store is worth the precarious exit point. read more

I have visited the store off Long Point in Mt. Pleasant several times in the last 2 years. I have dropped off items and made several purchases. I however had the worst experience with this store this week. I went to the store on Monday and looked around the store. I found two side tables one in great shape and one with the top coming off and some wood trim missing. I asked if the price could be adjusted for the one that was in such bad shape (just a question). I felt that I was being attacked by the furniture priced (that is how she was introduced). I think many people like shopping in these types of stores because they have a chance to bargain. It started to rain and I asked if I could pick up the items I was purchasing the following day. I was told this would be no problem. I rechecked on the hours and was told they do close at 6pm. I showed up to pick up the items 15 min before 6 (these were Items I could load myself and would have only taken about 5 to 10 minutes). I however was meet at the door by an employ and told the store was closed and that they had already shut down registers. I explained that I did not need the registers and that I was only picking up items I purchased the day before. I was told no and that no pickups were allowed after 5pm. I explained that this was not the same thing I was told the day before and that my trip was over 1 hour round trip and I only needed a few minutes. All I received was a "no" and the feeling that they always post someone at the door to ensure no one comes in the store around closing. If they want to leave the store at 6pm it should close the store by 5 or 5:30. The whole experience was just unpleasant and I am not sure I will visit the store again after I pick up this items. However at this point I will need to wait until the weekend to pick up because like many others I have a job that will not allow me time to make it to this store by 5pm. The manager should discuss customer service with the staff and be aware that the employees are keeping customers out of the store before the closing time. They were already at their cars and ready to run 15 minutes before closing. read more
