The community thrift store is a hidden gem for educators like myself looking to build up their classroom resources without breaking the bank. The store always has a wide selection of gently used children's books at unbeatable prices, usually around $1.00, making it easy for me to constantly refresh my library with new and exciting titles. The friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere make each visit a pleasant experience, and I highly recommend this thrift store to any teacher looking to stretch their budget while still providing books that are student favorites! Now that you have learned my secret, make sure to leave a couple for me!

Found 6 of these for 99 cents each!

If you're down for the hunt, this is a great thrift store. It's well organized but it's big and can take a while to go through the racks, but it's worth it because the prices are so good. Thrift stores are always hit or miss, but they always seem to be putting out new stock. Plus they have a large furniture section too. My last time in I found 6 matching metal folding chairs with vinyl cushions on them... all matching and in decent shape. Perfect for extra seating the the yard when I have a bbq. I think I paid $2 a piece for them! The staff is super nice too. The guy grabbed them for me and gave me a slip to pay when I was done and then loaded them into my car out front.

This entire lot was $1.99.

As I have stated in other reviews, I'm a thrifter. We like to give this location a few months between visits. Why? Because they get SO much stuff it gets overwhelming to get around. That's not a bad hint, Except for my bank account and home space. We have found the best deals on entertainment centers and cookery. I have found most of my Pyrex and Corning-wear from this location. Note: always check the bagged items on the shelves if you are looking for good deals on higher priced items like baking items because they lump them together (often still in original packaging) and Lot price them. We have an entire cookie making operation funded off this thrift store lot bags! Yes it is always full of people and there is a lot of filler type furniture but if you are needing that 99 cent cash and carry bachelor recliner, I saw one yesterday!

Curb appeal ??

Positive atmosphere, solid clothing inventory, and cool vintage furniture!! Only negative detail was the overall cleanliness - definitely has room for improvement.

Still a great place to find furnishings! This would be great for young adults to find some decent furniture to start with!

I came to Exchange Factor three times this week and it was worth it. I ended up with two dope suit jackets. The service is top notch. Everyone is really kind and chill. Joan, the owner, is amazing. I spoke with Joan a couple of times and she took the time to describe what items she likes to buy from people. The atmosphere is fun with tons of good music playing. Saturday was real fun with lots of folks shopping, but even with several folks shopping people are chill. This isn't Goodwill and you aren't going to find boring pieces here. You'll pay a bit more but it's value buys that will lead to good looks. Charleston is very lucky to have Joan and Exchange Factor.

My friend found a fun shirt as well so then we went outside and were able to choose 6 items for free amongst the two of us. Honestly, the stuff outside is more picked over, but it's not junk. We picked up some really cool finds that made our haul that much better. I wish I had more time, but I got a punch card filled up so now I can come back and get a discount on my next purchase.
