Gatwick was fogged in when we were flying from Bordeaux resulting in a seven -hour delay for our English arrival. There was no way we would have been able to make our dinner reservation or even arrive before closing. When we called the restaurant at the hotel, The Eating House, to inform them of our predicament, they kindly offered to take our orders over the phone so that we could get fed before the kitchen closed. The food was really good and very comforting in the wet and cold outside. There were four of us and we had pork belly, soup, fish, and salad with a pint of beer. The breakfasts were really special. Their full English breakfast included the blood sausage, tomato, eggs, bacon, and all the goodies accompanied by pots of tea and café latte. Service was gracious. Definitely recommend Tunbridge Wells Hotel Restaurant as a very good eatery. read more
