We were trying to find a place to sleep for a night between snowboarding sessions as we're now too old to do day trips. Yeah, we're not THAT old, but man, it does feel like it. As our options started to dwindle we decided to try out Elet Hotel. In short? Not bad for a one night stay, the free snacks and water were a nice surprise, but the fact that we had to know that we needed to set the temperature for the fridge to cool our drinks (I was wondering why it wasn't cold inside!) as well as the heater turning on and off all night was a little hard to sleep well. L O C A T I O N The Elet Hotel is located off of the busy Lake Tahoe Blvd on a side street. There's about 9 spots for free parking and a few that are covered. It's also really walking distance to Heavenly Village. R O O M S There are rooms on the first floor which you don't need to travel two sets of stairs. Otherwise you have second floor rooms where you have to travel two sets of stairs and if you're coming from the parking lot, two sets of doors you need to close behind you. We got a room right above the drive way for check in. Interesting enough, you can hear people in the parking lot or the street from here. Upon entry, you have a small little coat hanger area with iron and hair dryer as well as the sink/vanity area for the bathroom and the bathroom to the left. Going further back, you get to the room and that's it. It's a fairly small room. There's a tv, coffee/tea maker, lots of snacks, a couple drawers and a fridge. There's a desk and a seat. We were smelling something when we entered our room and I'm VERY sensitive to smells especially cleaning and strong perfumes. We noticed that there was a plug in freshener in the corner of the room which we immediately unplugged and placed in the ice bucket bag because it was giving me a headache. We opened the window briefly and realized we were smelling food as well as oily smells. Gosh, I can't catch a break. So we immediately closed the window and just ran the fan in the room and eventually the smells were gone but we also left for dinner so I think time just helped clear out everything. The bed was on a metal frame which was very squeaky so any movement made noise at night and I was tossing a lot at night because I was being woken up by the heater as it turned on and off all night as it is fairly cold in the room otherwise. So either be an icicle or be warm and just be woken up by the heater. Shrugs....toss up. I think if the bed was just on the floor on a platform frame, it would be so much better. The bathroom amenities were fine, just wished they had a lotion considering that it's so dry and cold there. They did have disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, body gel, as well as bar soaps and a shower cap. The towel I had smelled herby? Maybe moldy? Maybe it was an herbal wash. Not sure if I prefer that versus the super bleachy smells that other places have. Now it was really nice of the folks there to give us a bunch of snacks for free! Goodness, goldfish crackers, granola bars, Pringle chips, two bottles of water, chocolates and they even gave us two beanies which we chose not to keep as we don't need them. The only thing not free which they mention upon check in are the robes. The fridge was running but I was wondering why it wasn't cold. It wasn't until we were taking our stuff out that my bf noticed that the fridge's dial was set to 0 so of course it wouldn't cool it's set to 0. I wish we had known this was something we needed to set. I just assumed it was a fridge that didn't get cold....I know naïve of me to think that. O V E R A L L Again as I mentioned, since we were here for just a night, it was fine, but goodness it was expensive for the room you get. I guess it's just expensive in this area in general. Did I get a restful night's sleep? No, but it's clean and they give you free snacks. Would we come back? Maybe if it's the only decent option as there could be worse hotels to stay in.

We just arrived to our room. It is so cozy and clean. Kathy in reception was so nice and welcoming. Since it's Valentine's Day, they placed a complementary gift for us. The space is great for a great price and a great location. We love it so far!

The townhomes are beautiful and have 3 levels. I see they've made some improvements- probably based on families. The stairs are steep, so with two kids running around, it can be nerve wrecking. I saw they added nice child gates to the top of their sets of stairs. In the townhomes, you have 3 levels and 2 patios: one patio on the second floor (living area with a half bath) with an egg chair and table setting. The third level is the bed space and that patio has the soaking tub and a little seating area. Their main bathroom is huge- beautiful modern shower with a huge soaking tub for two. The soaking tub takes some agility getting in and out, but is nice and deep and has jets. It takes a while to fill up, but once it does, it's really relaxing. We love how both walls next to the sliding glass doors on both levels have a see thru fireplace. Such a cute, romantic detail that's nice to have running while you're relaxing. The heated floors in the bathroom are an added perk. Oh! And you get your own garage- even though you still have to access the home from outside the garage. They are incredible accommodating. They have a list of things offered on request like kids toys, hygiene kits, ironing board, etc. They get added points for having those really expensive amazing Dyson hair dryers as their hair drying option too It's one of our favorite places to stay!

The grounds of the hotel are absolutely breathtaking and we enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs on the beach watching the sunset over Lake Tahoe. I love that they offer fun activities such as board games and s'mores around the fire. They offer morning, yoga classes by the lake as well as lawn games like cornhole. The pool looked wonderful, although we did not partake. This is definitely a spot you would want to come if you were celebrating a wedding or an anniversary. The area around the lobby is beautiful, appearing newly renovated with working fire pits, a deck and pool area, bar and lobby area. If you are in a room on that side, there are plenty of amenities for you to enjoy. We were in building 7, a room across the street from the luxury of those conveniently located amenities. In absence of the amenities, it did offer quiet as there was not a lot of foot traffic or people on our side. There was a fire pit directly beneath our 2nd floor room; however, it did not work since it needs gas (per the staff). None of the fire pits on our side worked, we were later told they were for the community center by reservation. Check in was easy, the staff who assisted were pleasant and thorough. When we arrived to our room, the in person version did not look as upscale as the photos I based our booking on. The fact that there is a shared microwave should have been the biggest clue. There is no coffee maker, rather a kettle for hot water and packets of something to use. Checkout was simple as well. Amenities: The fridge was pretty spacious for being small and there were plenty of shelving for snacks. The hanging space had five hangers, which were located directly above the kettle. The toilet seat had 3 temps to warm your bottom and the water in the shower (and sink) got really hot so be careful. The mini balcony was nice to exist on and fairly quiet even with cars and people passing. The staff were friendly and have been accommodating with requests for room service. Heavenly Ski Resort was a 5-10 minute walk from this location along with a plethora of eateries and shops including Target, Jamba Juice, Starbucks, Ace and other shops. All within walking distance inside the same shopping center. We will not return to Coachman Hotel for future stays. There are plenty of surrounding hotels near by. Our daughter did enjoy the balcony, the room was clean and well maintained. For us, we prefer accommodations with an actual coffee maker (as advertised), a microwave in the room and a more luxurious feel to our stay. The s'more hour was fun for our lil one to experience. Staff were exceptional so I would not discourage anyone to consider Coachman.

We typically stay at Edgewood when visiting South Lake Tahoe, but decided to try something different this time. Unfortunately, the stay got off to a rough start. We arrived around noon on Friday and were told our room was ready, even though official check-in is at 4 PM. When we went up, housekeeping was still cleaning and informed us it would be another 30 minutes. Later, the manager called to apologize and explained that we had been given the wrong room number. He asked for permission to have staff move our belongings to the correct room. While the apology was appreciated, it wasn't a great first impression and set the tone for the rest of the stay. There is no room service, despite having an onsite restaurant (Fire + Ice), which was disappointing after a long travel day. I also asked the front desk if they had honey so I could make green tea in our room and was told they didn't. For a Marriott property, that felt surprising and oddly basic. Housekeeping is not provided daily. There was no one to make the bed or tidy up during our stay. While we were told we could call if we needed anything, it still felt like a noticeable downgrade in service for a hotel at this price point. We stayed from Friday to Sunday, and the only complimentary item offered was a single homemade cookie, handed out individually. On Saturday, hot chocolate was available, but it was $5 per cup. Charging for hot water, cocoa powder, and a few marshmallows felt nickel-and-dimey, especially at a resort-style hotel. The biggest frustration, however, was the constant timeshare solicitation. Immediately after checking in, we were approached at the concierge desk and pitched a "promotion." We declined. Later that same day, we were approached again and declined once more. Then on Saturday evening at 7 PM, my personal cell phone rang with caller ID showing Marriott. It was the same person calling yet again to pitch the timeshare. While a gift card was offered, not everyone is interested in $200. Our vacation time is more valuable than sitting through a 90-minute sales presentation. After declining multiple times, the continued follow-up felt unprofessional. A clear "no" should be noted and respected. The room itself was nice. We stayed in a one-bedroom villa with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, living area, and a separate bedroom and bathroom. The layout was functional for families, with two TVs and a sofa bed in the living room. However, the sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable and made sleeping difficult, especially after long days out. There was a simple welcome note in the room, but no other welcome amenity. We weren't expecting much, just a small thoughtful touch. The property does offer an outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi, open from 8 AM to 10 PM, which is a nice amenity for families and for unwinding after a day out. Checkout is at 10 AM, which feels early. Many comparable hotels offer at least an 11 AM checkout. In our case, by Sunday morning we were so eager to leave due to the overall experience that we checked out at 8:00 AM. We genuinely couldn't wait to go. Overall, while the location and room layout are strong, the lack of basic hospitality, repeated sales pressure, limited housekeeping, and early missteps made this stay feel more transactional than relaxing. For the price and the Marriott name, I expected a far more polished experience. We would not choose to stay here again.

We also have a friend who is a photographer and we haven't had professional photos taken since our wedding 18 years ago so we thought The Landing would be the perfect place since they host weddings here and it's right next to the beach. There are so many excellent parts to mention but I will start with the staff. From the moment we walked in, everyone was so friendly and welcoming to us and our dog. Our 15 year old had just passed and so our 12 year old was a little lost and loved all of the attention. She was treated just like one of the family. They even allow dogs on the free shuttle which is so perfect so we were able to go into the village and have lunch with her. It's a downhill walk back and so pretty, so we enjoyed the fresh air back. They upgraded our room and the views of the lake were perfect. It was so easy taking Juno out for potty breaks. It was extremely quiet and clean. The heated floors and toilets are a nice touch. We had dinner one night in the restaurant and it is the best meal I've had in Tahoe. The Venison is unbelievably tender and flavorful. My husband loved his homemade pasta with huge prawns. Our server, Kevin, went above and beyond to make the night special. They even let us take a few pictures in the bar area which I think turned out really cool with all of the bottles and colors in the background. Of course we all come for Tahoe!
