I've picked up some amazing quality stuff at very fair prices over the years and I'm almost always able to find something I don't have that I need to have (even though I own a few thousand records at this point) among the extensive inventory of used rock. Unlike the previous reviewer I find the prices more than reasonable on almost everything and the owner seems like a fun guy with a good sense of humor. Highly recommended and potentially worth the side-trip for anyone traveling between Pittsburgh and Cleveland.

You…read morecan find all the classic rock, blues and soul artists you'd expect, along with a small portion of new popular music. The jazz inventory could probably use some work, but I'm guessing there aren't too many customers stopping in looking for that genre. The man who runs it is fairly friendly and will certainly chat with you while you browse, but if I had any bit of advice for him it would be to lower the price of his records. A Muddy Waters pressing from the 1970s might be worth $10-15 if it is in near mint condition, but anything less than that doesn't warrant such a price tag. I know you have to make your money somehow, but I can't figure out who is constantly buying these records at these prices to keep the place in business. My visit wasn't a disappointment at all, I found some interesting additions to my collection while I was there, it just cost me more than it was worth. It's as cool as a vinyl shop can be, but it's not the first place I think to go when I was to buy more wax.

It's an actual house they converted into a store. So many rooms themed. Retro video games. Retro dvd and vhs tapes. They have a big sports themed room w tons of old school Browns and Indians items. I have now lived in Ohio for about five months now and so far I have not been impressed by the thrift stores they have to offer. One day I took my daughter to this store called The Retro Attic, she was spending some time with her friend. They wanted to do some shopping. They spend about an hour or so at the Retro Attic and that's when I came to pick them up, but before we left I had to look around the Retro Attic. The Retro Attic is a huge thrift store that offer everything from comics, cds, records, retro toys, cloths, sports memorabilia, videos games, and pretty much everything else retro. The store has two levels and every room is dedicated to a different thing. My favorite room was the room dedicated to the Horror Genre, the room had a huge collection of horror stuff like VHS tapes, Horror Toys, Horror T-Shirts, and many more Horror related items. The Retro Attic also has very reasonable prices. If you ever find yourself driving through Akron Ohio area I highly recommend stopping by the Retro Attic, a place where you can buy a part of your childhood.

My trade was computer services and parts for their ancient computer systems in exchange for a used 2002 Iron Maiden doll that they still valued at $150 (ebay) though the MSRP sticker on the box says $40. At first, It was an 'extreme haggle' to get her to deal 4 "The Mummy" postcards for $10 (all I had on me) when she wanted $12. She ends up talking me into repairing her computer issues, which I did. I asked for the doll in exchange, and she won't keep on topic intentionally, then exclaims "Well, Eddie's not worth it to you!" I literally cried. Since I was a boy, I've never had a doll. Male dolls are extremely hard to find without a gun attached or some shirtless wrestler. Since this was near Christmas... it was particularly hard to bear that comment since I usually charge the same amount as the doll, per hour. They next day she comments on how great the computer is and how much of an expert I must be (IT professional for 15 years), but now she doesn't want to complete the rest of the deal. She states, just like everyone does, "My son knows computers, so now you don't have to!" Great, so you took my advice, and pushed someone else to do it for free. She said she'd pay me $50, but by 4pm, they closed up, and I still was 2 days in, without any compensation or trade. This is laughable by the 2 days of work I've now crammed into it, as well as $300 in ram upgrades, network configurations, running cables under the carpet, bringing power to the showcase, and bringing both machines to a stable copy of Windows 10, which she ok'd. Day 3, she calls after 2pm saying her program won't work. I say I can try to be there in an hour, but by 4 they had closed. Day 4, I arrived about when they opened, ready to fix the issue by simply updating the erroneous program, right clicking to run compatibility mode, or reverting back to windows 7. She gives me an ugly look, tells me to leave, won't even let me explain the solution because she doesn't want to hear it. I ask for my ram and DVD back, she won't. At this point, this is called "Theft of Services rendered." and my stolen gear. I call the police, and she calls the other line. I return all their recyclables (10MB switches, parallel port printer hub, usb hub, crusty keyboard, and nonworking battery backup. They stole my 16GB of DDR3 ram ($200), 2GB of DDR 400 ram ($100), new keyboard ($50), and install DVD ($150), totaling $500! This isn't counting my hours poured into it as well as setting an appointment with Spectrum to replace their broken modem for free, which they shooed them away. She made me invoice her for the doll, because I was pressuring her about how I'm not leaving without my parts. She offers $100... I negate to $300... she won't budge, so I opt for the doll. ($40 to her). "I guess Eddie is now worth it?" I ask her as I depart as her nasty husband tells me in front of a cop that "You're the type of person that expects something for nothing!" to which I said I'd be now writing this review because of his vile comment. Other notes: Black mold stench is horrible when entering. If you are sensitive, DO NOT ENTER - I'll be calling a few local inspectors to pay them a visit. She knows about the mold, even comments on it, but won't take care of the issue. Broken high voltage neon sign hanging above door. These things run at 17,000 volts. She intentionally keeps the phone off the hook to avoid customers. (What is the point of this store?) She doesn't and won't operate her cell phone. They talk nasty things about their clients waiting on orders. You won't find what you're looking for, but feel free to ask, because it will take them a week and they'll be mad at you about it. No insurance company wants to work with them because they can't have real figures, saying their HUGE inventory of junk is valued at millions. Literal garbage everywhere, she even asked me to haul it out to the recycler next door, then tells the cops I took her stuff, yet doesn't want it back, yet even recognize it. Dumb as hell when it comes to a computer. Plain dumb. Place is cluttered with their trash, invoices, and so on. You can't see the showcases from the mounds of falling over clutter. Nothing is hooked up or repaired. No modern store layout. You won't even know they had a backroom! Moldy records in the front half, and scary vacant towering isles in the back amongst more literal garbage that they can't bring themselves to throw out. Note to old man: You're a horrible person to tell me I did nothing for you. Note to old woman: I'd tell you to "Bite me!", but your dentures would fall out. Note to mysterious "son that knows computers" but obviously is too dim to actually do anything for his parents: If you're really that lazy to see how bad their business and computers have gotten, then you must really suck at computers and at being their son.

So from that first glance of Quonset Hut I had to look them up online, when I looked them up I learned they were a music store, a smoke shop, a skate shop, clothing shop, and disc golf shop. So from what I learned of the store I had to check it out for myself so I told my wife about Quonset Hut and we both came into the store to check it out. The first thing I noticed when I walked into the shop that they had a big selection of new & used records, posters of movies & bands, giant selection of incense, and a small skate shop section with skateboard decks, stickers, and skateboard needs. The guy who was working the skate shop section was named Mitch, and I have to say that Mitch was one of the coolest people I have met so far since moving to Ohio, plus he had great customer service. One of the things that made Mitch pretty awesome was his tattoo of Tic Tok who is a character from the 1985 movie Return to Oz which doesn't get enough love. You can find the smoke shop section of the store in the back of the shop. Quonset Hut has a massive selection of smoke pipes, grinders, bongs, and pretty much everything you need for your smoking needs. The last part of Quonset Hut that I looked at was the disc golf section, which had all your Disc Golf needs. I don't know much about Disc Golf but the staff was very knowledgeable. My wife thought Quonset Hut was pretty epic as well, she was helped by Haley who was very friendly, quite knowledgeable about all the smoke shop had to offer. My wife got herself a brand new bong and she got herself a custom Oogie boogie pipe, which she loves so freaking much. Everything inside Quonset Hut is reasonably priced, you will not break the bank shopping at Quonset Hut. If you make you way to Quonset Hut right now they are having a 50% off Summer Sale. I got a brand new Thrasher snapback hat with an Alien on it and the Thrasher logo on the side, I am a huge snapback hat guy. My collection of snapbacks is almost 40 hats strong. So if you are ever driving through Canton Ohio you really need to check out Quonset Hut, it's a shop of many wonders that has been serving up its patrons since 1969.

Everything is priced to move, and I have bought beautiful antique frames for my own artwork for a fraction of the typical cost. These prices can't be beat! I'm addicted to this experience, and we go out of our way to visit Granny each time we come to Warren. She is the best! I have found a friend in her and it makes it even more fun to visit the store. You really won't often get this kind of special interpersonal interaction at a store anymore. This place is a cannot-miss if you're into affordable antiques and cleaned up secondhand pieces. Everything there begs to come home with me. It's both amazing and horrible, lol. Also, fwiw, this place is quietly/modestly a gay- and trans- friendly environment. Gotta love a welcoming, normal, safe space! ‍‍ Thanks to Yankee Trading Post in Warren, I have been able to painlessly decorate my new place to match how I always pictured it in my mind.
