Sucks. Check the reviews before you sign up and waste your money. They told me I would receive 1 month out of 3 free and then said that because I didn't pay the 2 months up front that I would have to pay for all 3 months and then they would extend me one month free. That would be fine, except I didn't get *1 single sales lead* - NOT ONE - from the advertising. I'll tell ya what, just take $395 in cash from the ATM and go out back and set fire to it. You'll feel much better about watching your money burn than you ever would from giving these people your money. I was contacted by a sharp salesperson to place an inexpensive ad in a local movie theater. The price was reasonable and I assented to having a contract sent to me for review. Unfortunately I quickly realized the salesperson misrepresented himself and instead of being sent an ad contract I was contacted by a woman from The Facts Media who asked to record the conversation and tried to quickly confirm contract terms orally and get my credit card information. When I told the woman I would not enter into an oral contract and instead wanted to see a contract for review she assented. Instead of the promised contract I received an email memorandum of understanding that I contracted to their terms via an oral agreement - no signature needed. The owner responded to my email rejecting their correspondence. She was very pleasant in her email and asked to be given time to evidence they are a reputable company... which they may very well be. However, they are too fast and loose for my taste and the fact that they even do the recorded agreement is bizarro world for me. It's not uncommon for a sales rep to get a little stretchy with his promises which is why it is important to have a contract to review before entering into the agreement. At best The Facts Media is setting themselves up for miscommunication and disappointed clientele, at worse they are operating outside the lines of fair dealing. read more

Bad experience! totally agree with Josh D, Rakshit T, Melissa L, Heather D, and everyone else! They push you to hastily agree to an oral contract, which sets you up for recurring payments, (same experience as Heather D) Also never had a single customer come in with the coupon, these pamphlets are barely visible in the theatre you have to go searching and then the ad is TINY. read more

Bad Experience! Would not recommend. The brochures, just like everyone else says, do not work, nor are they displayed in good areas so that they can work. They are not displayed in a timely manner either. The Facts Media depends on the companies that take their brochures to display them. I received a call in November regarding doing advertising for January through April. I agreed to the four month period and was VERY clear that I wasn't willing to go further than that. I agreed ONLY to four months in the initial call. I am now being billed for May- August. I didn't want to continue as I received not a single call from this "advertising resource" let along a paying job. I called today and was given the run around that it automatically renews and that I had to call by April 1 to cancel. I remember CLEARLY stating that I was only agreeing to do January through APRIL. I had witnesses in the room with me who heard me clearly state that I was not going to do this past APRIL in NOVEMBER. I believe this is CLEARLY an issue. They called in Feburary regarding billing and again in early April stating that I needed to pay my March bill for April. I said I was glad this was over because I had not received a single customer from the ads. She was empathetic regarding the fact that I wasn't satisfied. Now I am getting billed for services I didn't agree to. Apparently my "sales rep" is going to call and play back the conversations for me. All I can say is that, after consulting my attorney, the conversations had better be clear, concise, and complete. I didn't budget for additional advertising with The Facts Media. I didn't want additional advertising with The Facts Media. I didn't authorize additional advertising with The Facts Media and yet I am being told that I didn't call by April 1 so they can bill me for the May to September cycles. What they do is horrible. They offered me an advertising spot. I agreed to look at an ad proof. I give them my "billing" information that they are only going to use if I agree to the ad. And then a month later, they call, I tell them I am no longer interested because I never received the proof and they tell me its too late. I tell the representative that I did not agree to anything until I saw the proof and now I have an attorney's office contacting me. Coincidentally they have me agreeing to the ad but not to the terms. I asked them for a recorded conversation with the sales person but those aren't recorded. read more

This company is AWFUL! I agreed to advertise with them after many conversations with the sales rep. I made an agreement to pay for three months. I was told after three months my contract would cancel on its own. I was billed for three additional months $240! The manager, BETTY said they had recordings of the calls. The recordings were bits and pieces of the actual conversation. Not to mention I visited the theatre and these brochures were no where to be found! I've been dealing with The Facts Media group for over a year now in regards to locally running an advertisement at our local movie theater. It is a cost effective and a great way for me to get the word out about our local Franchise The UPS Store Park Ridge. They don't offer any competitors on the brochure to compete with my local business, allowing for my products and services to stand out. The advertisement they offer is flexible to change depending on the season and promotions I offer-- if I want to change my advertisement all I have to do is submit it a month in advance and I can rest easy that my new promotion will be in the next brochure. They also send me an invoice monthly with a copy of the brochure so I can see for myself what the advertisement looks exactly like. The staff at The Facts Media is a pleasure to work with as well- they are a quick call and they try to help with any questions I may have. I too have filed with the BBB. I cancelled my account with them BUT they chose not to cancel it and keep billing me. They say I never spoke with anyone to cancel just to make a payment. The so called supervisor, Betty, basically called me a liar and said that I owe the additional 2 months but she was willing to write off one month and the late fees. So I go to the theater that was supposed to be running my ad. Too bad I did this two months later. I walk in I start looking for the ad. Nothing. I ask the people selling the tickets, they don't even know what i'm talking about. So I get the manager and ask them. They don't have a clue. When I call this company to get my money back since i paid for an ad that was never put out to the public they refuse. Never will I use this company ever again. When you do get someone on the phone they just say that the manager says that the flyers are out. They don't even care enough about there customers to go check for them selves. I have a local restaurant with great reputation in the comunity. I usually shy from this unproven publications. After several discussions with Move Facts sales lady and after making sure they knew I didnt want a 4 months commintment, they accepted my conditions and I went ahead with a one month trial. Not surprisingly I am now being asked to pay for a minimum of four months, a commitment i never made. They refuse to play the "contract recording" for me and continue to harrass me for a balance of something i never agree to. The worst part is that i never got not even one result from this so-called marketing venue. I mean not even one coupon in 3 months of advertising?? come on! I asked them to provide me with proof of the amount of circulation they say they have and of course I didnt get that. I was told they don't do that. I worked in a newspaper and every publication has to keep records available to their customers of their circulation to prove their claims at any time. Stay away from this people. I know not all advertisement is as effective as others, but this company is definately doing something very shady. Don't throw away your money at this, it doesn't work and that is because they don't print as many brochures as they say. read more

The first year I opened my business, I advertised in what I thought was a cool movie related brochure. My bad for not doing more thorough homework, and seeing that it wasn't widely circulated or read. But their bad for advertising tactics that are very misleading. They have an F grade with the Better Business Bureau, and most of the complaints are in the advertising/sales category. From my own experience, (and I filed a complaint with the BBB, and with the CEO, though it was difficult to find the actual company personnel) this is due to an automatic renewal policy that is deliberately vague and is not put in writing. I'm posting this as a caution for others, as this is a nationwide business and the salespeople seem friendly and nice (but I was told when I called for a copy correction that my friendly salesperson had moved). Much confusion, and much diverting of calls. Before buying "Movie Facts" advertising, I'd check your local theater to see how it's distributed, and, if it seems worth it, ask for the contract terms in writing, and specify that there be no renewal without your express permission. read more

BEWARE!!! SCAM COMPANY!!!! We received a call in April 2017 about advertising talked with the owner about it, and explained he doesn't like to do any advertising, they gave an amount that he didn't agree too, She talked her way into saying they would do it for 3 months at $200, he was very hesitant about doing that but since it was going to be advertising at our local movie theatre he decided he would try it for the 3 months and see how it went, for $200, there were a couple calls deciding if that was what he really wanted to do, we received another phone call asking if we were going to do it, and we decided to give it a try, he then handed me the phone to finish we never received a contract just was explained that we would receive everything in the mail, which took forever to receive! We then were talked into doing it for June, July and August ( which was the agreement for $200 ) she then explained we would get September free or 5% off, we chose September free, I even asked if that was the months we were doing she said yes, so assuming we were only doing the 4 months at $200 come after September we started receiving statements for October, November and December, which we were confused about since we only assumed it was for the 4 months, we then received a phone call asking for the money for advertisement, we explained we thought it was only for the 4 months which we originally agreed to, we were then told it is automatic after that unless you cancel. Which then she said that they recorded our conversation from the first phone calls, ok?? She then finally replayed the agreement over the phone today, what a scam she threw in at the end about cancelling which went over our head, we are an auto repair facility so its quite noisy here when everything is running, had we known from the start we never would have agreed to in the first place, so they got us for another $150 for something that did nothing for us, we never received ONE person from that advertisement!!!!!!!! We NEVER sign up for anything that is automatically renewed!!!!!!! We were only under the assumption from the start of all this it was for 4 months only. What a crock. Their advertising don't do any good, and the brochures they put out at the movie theatre nobody grabs! We were under the assumption it go's on the screen, now that's the way to do it!!! I ran an ad for 2 years and was happy with the result and overall with their service. They do auto renew you ad without a contract, but when I called, they were very helpful in resolving my issue. They even comped me two months of my ad, which was above and beyond. All I was asking for was to pay the two months my ad ran over (the auto renew thing). They did the right thing! read more

Salesman promised us that we could cancel at any time and now they are sending us to collections for not paying for 4 months after i canceled after the first month because we also were not allowed to appear in person at the theaters as the saleman promised. this is the worst company to advertise with...they promise you that the advertisement would be in the movie theater for 3 months (a quarter). i was told they would be in the movie theater for a month before my first payment was due. if i wanted to check to make sure they were there i could. i did check...4 weeks in a row...never saw 1 brochure. i was told someone comes constantly to fill up the brochures when needed. i talked to the manager of the movie theater. she said once the brochures are gone, thats it for the quarter. never did see a brochure in the theater with my business name on it read more

Horrible advertising scam they get you into. Misleading terms that are not even disclosed properly coupled with poor ad placement in theaters leads to a huge waste of money. I have a very good converting ad that I use in many places and was the one I used with them. WOW !!!! BEWARE!!!!! They are terrible and ride the line between "scam" and "skeptical" business practices. Long story short, I just received a bill for 4 months of advertising services I did not order. I have never spoken to this company or any salesperson for them. According to MovieFacts, a salesperson contact an employee at my business who "supposedly" said they were a manager and authorized to make financial decisions for the business. The employee "supposedly" made a verbal agreement and stated she would call back with a credit card to pay. She never did. MovieFacts claims they attempted to contact her by calling the store several times but never got her again. All this took place on Oct 25, 2013 - the charged advertising ran from Dec 2013 - March 2014. So..... Why did they even run the advertising without payment? They had from Oct 25th until before the services started to realize something is wrong?? If MovieFacts was told they would receive a call with credit card information for the order, and didn't - they just run with the service anyway?? Now they bill me on March 1, 2014 ? When I called, they gave some run around but informed me that I am responsible for my employees and they will persue collection action if I do not pay it. They stated it was my responsibility to make sure my employees are aware not to order any products or services and that any calls for products or services should be forwarded to the myself, as owner. Really, now they tell me how to run my staff ?? MovieFacts also stated it is not their responsibility to validate that the person speaking (to MovieFacts sales people) on the phone is ACTUALLY authorized to make any purchases or financial obligation for the business. Really? So, they will take an order from anyone who says they are a manager and allowed to place the order. This company needs to be reported and investigated for its business practices and cold calling tactics. MovieFacts had more than 30 days from the original claimed verbal agreement to the time the advertising started; to collect payment or even confirm the orders validity. Neither was done. I am filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, I encourage others to do the same. A simple Google search on this company clearly shows the pattern they are working in. I am not the first & surely not the last. It is time the FTC check them out. I will update any news as it happens....... read more

I signed on to advertise with them. The idea of my business name being out there at a very nice theatre was very appealing. From early on I had problems with billing. I asked repeatedly to be put on auto pay. They said they could only do that with a written authorization form that had to be hand signed - no form of electronic communication was acceptable -- up to and including scanning the signed form. I asked for the form to be mailed to me. It wasn't, the following month I went through the same song and dance. This time they took the time to mail the form. I filled it out, stamped it and mailed it back. I assumed all was fine until today when I got a call for late payment. I asked about the auto pay and they said they had no record of it but would be glad to set it up electronically --- HUH?? I repeated what I had been told over the past months and was told I was wrong, that was NOT their policy. I pointed out that I had filled out a form with credit card information and mailed it in. They said they checked with accounting and said they had no form. All I can assume is that either a)someone in their office has my credit card information or b)the form was "lost" in the mail - in either case I have an awful situation at hand as now I have to go to my bank and cancel my card and get a new one issued -- AND change all the other accounts on auto pay. I immediately cancelled my contract with them and paid my balance -- when I received my receipt they had not charged me correctly -- I called them to correct the situation. I had to forward the receipt, talk to one person who had to check it out with another who wasn't sure what happened (right hand meet left, left meet right). In all I spent about 30 minutes of my precious time dealing with this unprofessional company. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. I never got one customer from the advertising PLUS found the customer service in their offices to be less than satisfactory. read more
