This is a pretty typical consignment shop, which reminded me a lot of a Plato's Closet type vibe. The selection was pretty large, and they have a lot of more trendy type things. The prices are a little higher than a typical thrift store, but on par with other consignment shops. The fairy circle has since changed their policy to remove clothes after 30 days of not being sold, this has drastically changed the experience here in a positive way. There's left to sift through and more quality pieces. I'm always happy and thrilled with the deals I find here! I also find that consigning clothes with them here you get the best bang for your buck. 5 stars all around and helpful kind staff. If you have items you wish to let go of bring it here to sell for you. Aside that the items are of quality value and less than you'd pay for in a actual retail store. Shoes, clothes you name it. I hate to give a bad review, but feel I must earn others. Finally got to clean out my closet and brought clothing to Fairy Circle. My items were very stylish and in excellent quality. I got practically nothing for them, but could not take them back or I would never a accomplish reorganizing my closet. Then I brought 20-30 pairs of shoes, in excellent condition, some almost new and some designer. I knew they were too nice, but I had to get this closet done. I got $0.00 for them! Can you believe that not one pair was sold??? I think that once I didn't come back for them, they were never put out on the floor to sell, and taken for free by someone! This is my favorite consignment shop in town. I love how many items they have and how friendly the staff are. They have incense, jewelry, purses, clothes, shoes, etc. they have designer names and brand names. The clearance rack is $2.00. I got a J Jill shirt for $6.00 today. Incredible!! I'm incredibly impressed with the fairy circle! I have been selling clothes there for about 9 months and have made close to $300. They take a little bit of it all, including vintage labels and mens clothing. I now get a lot of my things here and it's my first stop when looking for clothing or accessories. My only complaint is that you can only get a check for your consignment at a certain time of the month. So it can be really inconvenient if you want your cash now. Times being what they are, my sister and I take the opportunity on this drizzly afternoon to scout out a secondhand store recommended by Courtney Dunn of the Wilmington Fashion Report. Not a fan of the mall (read: malls make me want to curl up in a ball on the floor, squeeze my eyes shut and cover my ears until it's all over), I'm always on the lookout for unique, affordable fashion. I have to say, though, I'm a little stumped when we pull up to The Fairy Circle. Firstly, under no circumstances would I normally check out a place with such an unfortunate and inaccurate moniker, but Courtney had photographic evidence that the goods were... well... good. The storefront, however, suggests that we're about to enter a den of wicken wonders, filled with gauzy dresses and herbal remedies. There may even be a unicorn involved. hen you open the door and a cloud of incense hits you full on. Push forth, my friends, because beyond this strange veil lies a veritable treasure chest of fashion finds. While you will discover a small section of the requisite handmade, flowy shirts and floor-length skirts, the majority of the store showcases racks upon racks of gently used clothing from well-known stores, designer labels and boutique brands. It's apparent that The Fairy Circle is selective in their buying, which makes the shopping painfully easy. We've only been in the store for twenty minutes when we find our arms too loaded to continue and have to make a break for the fitting rooms. My sister makes out with a Nanette Lepore knit dress ($49), and a killer aqua faux leather jacket from Forever 21 ($10). I manage to whittle down my pile to a Maggy London halter dress ($18), but it's painful to leave so much behind. A return trip is planned. In addition to women's clothing, the store has a great selection of accessories (belts, bags, shoes, and an extensive jewelry section) and a small area for men's clothing as well. The fitting area includes a couch and a couple of cozy chairs, making waiting for your turn (or for your indecisive sister) pretty painless. And so it turns out that Courtney does, in fact, know her stuff. We may smell faintly of patchouli, but we made out like bandits. Mission accomplished. read more

This is my new favorite consignment shop! Tons of gorgeous goodies to choose from with terrific sale racks and fantastic prices! The only suggestion I would like to make is to get larger sizes in clothing. I had a great time browsing the selections, since my size was available, but I have several friends who love the clothing, but could find nothing in their size. Otherwise, everything else (clothing, accessories, store and service) was perfect! And I will be returning. :o) read more

I am able to collect this cash during a given window of time every month, or use it towards merchandise in the store any time I want. We came in and she did say "hello" but that's it. I was on there a long time with my patient husband but didn't really feel like I was treated the same as the apparent "regulars". I wasn't actually really impressed with their selection although I did find a couple pairs of earrings I would have gotten but changed my mind after giving it thought as I just wasn't thrilled with the service. I've shopped here, I've sold here, I've become quite the fan of this place. They will take your gently used clothes, men and women, and sell them for you and then pay you cash after they sell. (they only pay out on the 15 - 20th of each month.) The selection is usually mixed with designer, vintage and regular name brands. I've found a wonderful Oscar De La Renta paisley kimono for only $18 so that gives you an idea of their kickass prices. They carry jewelry, incense for $2 a box and handbags and shoes. I also appreciate that they will separate the clothes by designer and everything else. The one and only reason they are getting 4 stars instead of 5 is because if you find a piece you love and then try it on and find out it has defects, that's disappointing. They will give you a discount because it's broken/ripped/has a hole in the crotch, but to me that doesn't seem worth it. I don't want to buy a pair of Citizen for Humanity jeans with a hole in the crotch and broken zipper for $X off the $40 price tag. But if that's something you're cool with whatever. Every employee here is really nice, and I like that the selection changes regularly. If you're a treasure hunter on a budget then this is a must stop spot for you. read more

Has gone downhill. Used to be great. Now all of the clothes are terrible quality, the women working there have the worst attitude. They are so rude. Not to mention they have no problem selling racist costumes. I was in the store a couple of months ago with a Native American friend of mine. She saw that they were selling an "Indian girl" costume and brought it to the desk. She was very polite and was explaining that it was an offensive costume, and was wondering if they could talk to the owner about not selling harmful stereotypical costumes. The woman was the rudest and cut her off. I had forgotten about it until I went back in the store recently and saw the same woman. Horrible attitudes. Just mean women who charge more than Plato's Closet for crappy Forever 21 shirts. read more

Well worth the treasure hunt. Clothes are clean and well presented. They definitely deserve their consignment awards. Have found lots of fun, vintage clothing that is in great shape and very inexpensive. If you need jeans, they have lots. Their $2 sale rack is unprecedented. Sorry store moved from Monkey Junction, but will be worth the drive to new Market Street location. read more

I used to like Fairy Circle, but they are getting to be a real bear. $8-10 for a tank top whose wear-life is half over is not impressive. The prices make them picky with what they will take, and erratic with what they can sell. No matter what the style or condition, they will not take white or pastel clothing. Once I was browsing and found the very same top (in green and more worn) of one they wouldn't consign for me (lt. blue). Staff is a tad on the patronizing side in attitude. read more

Their prices are too high for the quality I've seen which confuses me because of the way the staff treated me the two times I took clothing in. I've consigned clothing at upscale clothing stores here and up north, but Fairy Circle attitude is the worst I've seen. Anyone ever notice that consignmwerent shops have snobbier sales people than retail stores? My niece gave me clothing to take in, and the girl wouldn't even take a look. Too bad. There were some Juicy and Lucky and other such brands in the mix. Some of which my niece had worn once if at all. I think it was because i was older or something. I wasn't dressed up, but I was wearing some talbot's. Maybe she thought the stuff wouldn't be cool enough. Oh... and that happened twice. Two different salespeople looked at me, barely glanced at what I had brought in and said no. LOL. I shower daily, am considered attractive ( I have a job selling pharmaceuticals, so have to look good), but for some reason salespeople wouldn't even take a look. No worries. I sold stuff at Encore and Mentor. My niece was happy, and I was happy, and we've never taken stuff to FC since then. read more

I used to go to fairly circle a lot. it has quite some cute stuff so it's fun to shop. However, i was very unhappy with my consignment experiences. The first time they lost one of my items and I said it's Ok, no big deal. But then it happened again and it was a really nice warm trench coat which I had planned to get back. I was told initially that they will give me some kind of store credit but then when I was ready to claim the credit, I was told oh, according to the consignment terms, the store is not responsible for any lost items. I was shocked to hear that! I think the truth is they sold it but didn't put it in the computer. I don't know if this was done intentionally but it can be definitely done accidentally. The store is not well managed. There is always clothing on the floor and the whole store is overwhelmingly packed. It is also apparently understaffed so I wouldn't be surprised if stuff got stolen or didn't get registered when sold. I would NOT consign with them again. Although I probably go there once in a while. their clearance is still an incredibly good deal. read more
