Went to this as a school event and expected it to be really good because the owner of the restaurant told us it was good and when we went in, he was not ready and when we got our food, the bread was rock hard mashed potatoes were nastyily sweet . Rustic and close to the Ohio river, The Farm serves up home style food in a buffet on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The price includes the buffet, non alcoholic drinks, and tip. The main entrees on Tuesday were fried chicken, carved ham, and carved roast beef. I liked the chicken best. There are numerous sides to go along, as well as deserts. For over 50 years this place has been providing good food and service to the community and beyond. The farm may look a little dated when you enter but rest assured the food is fresh and served hot. This place can be rented out for a group event or wedding but is also open for dinner on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Tips to make your visit a success: 1) Get some of the fried chicken. A constant theme through out all these reviews is the fried chicken is a must get. And that is no lie. It is hot and tasty with plenty for all so definitely get you a piece. 2) Comfort food not healthy food. Attended a wedding. The venue is 1970s Brown Paneling barn motif. (Not bad just dated) The food was acceptable and on par for a wedding event. However, as the night rolled on, the smell of raw sewage permeated the room as more folks used the restrooms and for me, became overwhelming. This can't be the first time this has happened here and am amazed no one else has this complaint. Time to get a plumber in there and figure out where the sewage gas is venting into the facility instead of out the plumbing stacks. 3.5 stars if you fix the plumbing. read more

The Farm is a Cincy west side staple. I've been coming here before I can even remember. I've attended weddings, sporting ceremonies , high school dances, benefits at The Farm. If you got married in the 80's or 90's, you got married here. It was the venue! The place hasn't changed a lick since the early 1980's or even before. Now that's not a bad thing. The food is seriously really good. You actually get what you pay for. You would be happy with your visit to The Farm. I recommend it at least once. Just put aside the outdated interior. I could end this review here and now. I just see all the possibilities for this place and what it could be in 2021. "A strong pass on this one" The owner mentioned that he wanted to give a talk about Cincinnati and "the Farm" after we completed our meal. Having grown up on the West Side, I'd been here for wedding receptions before, but not until recently did I go for a regular buffet. The place was pretty crowded with a wide variety of people- including a bunch of basketball teams (I do admit, I was flattered that I was asked if I was on one of the teams- I mean, I don't look that young, surely?? I was with my Dad, to be fair...) I think it was about $15 per person, which I don't always think twice about when out to a nice place, but seemed a bit over priced here. Don't ask me why. The food was pretty good- mostly comfort food. Reminded Dad of what his mom used to make for he and his siblings, so take of that what you will- the man is 70. There was a lot of food, the lines moved moderately quickly. The space would probably be hard to navigate for someone with more issues with mobility. It was pretty loud, too. As my life has started to shift over to the Westside almost instantly I started hearing legends of this place - The Farm Buffet. THE FRIED CHICKEN BUFFET. Now I'm a total glutton, as you'll hear about, but if there's one thing that I just handle often, it's the homestyle, Thanksgiving, fried-chicken dinners. I love them, I love the taste and the saltiness and the fat and the grease and the yum... but afterwards? I feel like dying. So I know better. I know that if I'm going to dive into a fried chicken buffet, it better be a special occasion. Fortunately, one of those has come up - a good friend of mine (and fellow buffet enthusiast) is moving away so we decided to celebrate with The Farm. Going in on a Tuesday night we were hit by the most delicious smells as soon as we walked through the doors. Like Grandma's house on a holiday, the aroma was appetizing in a way I can't even put to words. Walking through the doors into the dining hall we grabbed a two top and took a gander across the two L-shaped buffet lines. There was a LOT - rye bread and yeast rolls, french fries, cut up sausages, garlic mashed potatoes, egg noodles, stew with gravy, standing rounds of roast (with au jus) and ham, macaroni salad, coleslaw, cottage cheese, sauerkraut and sausages, corn, green bean casserole and a big bowl of mixed salad greens. ANd that's before we even get to the desserts! So as gluttons we of course tried... everything (minus the ham, which I can't eat personally). On one plate.It was a mess. It was also pretty damned delicious! Everything was heavy, everything was rich, but everything had the kind of solid, stick-to-your-ribosity that you want when you go eat a country meal like this. As much as I was looking forward to the fried chicken (and it was REALLY good), the two highlights were actually the beef stew and the garlic mashed potatoes. Those beef tips in the stew were so soft and rich, I'm not a huge fan of red meat but that was absolutely exceptional. Complimenting it were the creamy rich mashed potatoes. I also try to avoid most simple starches (like white potatoes and corn), but when I'm going to indulge I'm going in the deep end. I couldn't have made a better choice to indulge. I'll be honest though, the sausages and kraut were disappointing (straight from a can), the corn was pretty bland (other than butter), and the green bean casserole was like a solid block of fattiness with pieces of veggies strewn through-out. I won't pretend to be a total health nut (as this review can attest), but you should be able to actually taste the vegetable you're eating. Otherwise, what's the point? Now I'll be honest here too - I consider myself a failure if I go to a buffet and I don't get at least three trips. Why three? I don't know, I'm a glutton. Regardless, this place? I couldn't do it. I tapped out. The food was amazingly rich, and I didn't get the hat trick. However, i did make up for that with a plate worth of every type of desert under the sun. They offered ice cream with whipped cream and chocolate syrup), chocolate and tapioca pudding, chocolate and vanilla cake, 4 types of cheesecake, caramelized apples, mixed fruit salad, and bread pudding. I only tried.. Well i tried a lot of that stuff, but not all of it. Fruit salad was great, with chunks of grapefruit spread through that absorbed the sugar from the other fruits to make it actually palatable. Strawberry cheesecake had a creamy richness that offset the overly-sweetened caramelized apples and straight sugar puddings. I probably shouldn't have gotten it all, but I loved my extra little treat worth of dessert. All in all, as much as I want to go back for the spaghetti and bbq ribs on a Thursday, I absolutely know better. I've not been hungry for 3 days since I had The Farm, and I can't imagine I could survive another trip. If you have a strong desire to live I can't say I recommend this, but if you want to die fat and happy, The Farm is a true destination. God Bless the Westside yall. read more

We were there in October for the wedding of some dear friends. The facility was dingy and dated but the food was very good. It reminded me of an outdated VFW or Bingo Hall. If you want comfort food, you'd probably give The Farm an additional star -- ham and roast beef sliced to order, fried chicken, 2 kinds of potatoes, 2 kinds of pasta, and vegetables very well-cooked and swimming in butter or cheese sauce. For me, it's rather outdated -- I would like to see fresher, steamed veggies, and more salad options than just a big bowl of mainly lettuce with a few grape tomatoes and carrot shreds. The selection is a bit different on other days, but, from everything I've read, still heavy on the "heavy" foods, and nothing ethnic or very creative. Desserts are similar -- there was a fresh fruit mix, and all the rest are very rich cakes and pies, so, if you like that, you'll be happy. The facility itself is quite nice, and the restroom was especially clean and nice, unlike so many places. I could REALLY do without the constant music on the P.A., some of which is religious music, and the guy at the register very loudly saying "God bless you" and even quoting something about "Honor your father and mother." The owner doesn't pay his taxes, has some anon donor bail him out, then lectures customers on not knowing anything about business when they share their experience. Absolutely LOVE this place!!! The place is a banquet hall and is family owned. Dan from the farm, the owner, has been there each and every time we've eaten there. He is a wonderful and friendly man. We met his two very cute children today. The decor and lighting is cute and sort of fancy. The food is awesome! It's all home cooked and fresh. Dinner includes about four main dishes, six sides, salad, bread and a wide array of desserts plus any drink you want. They do serve alcohol for a separate price. The buffet includes, carved meats, including ham and roast beef, fried chicken and beef stroganoff. Corn, mashed potatoes, cranberries, stewed tomatoes, coleslaw and green bean casserole along with hot baked apples. That is the Tuesday special that never changes. They are only open on Tuesdays Thursday's and Saturdays. You must be on your best behavior here. The Farm is a banquet hall that moonlights as a buffet on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Ironically, despite these limited hours, it is easily the best limitless dining experience in the greater Cincinnati area. This is primarily because 98% of the buffets in town are Asian oriented (no pun intended) and do very little to set themselves apart from one another. The other 1.9% are Golden Corrals. While I appreciate the vast selection available at the home of the Chocolate Wonderfall, they truly don't hold a candle to the Farm, in terms of presentation and/or quality. Two patron lines run along either side of a L-shaped serving table. Do not allow this slight inconvenience to discourage subsequent trips to the buffet, as both move briskly. Along your way, you'll discover many appetizing options to pile upon your plate. Think Thanksgiving Day without the sweatpants. Though, I'm sure you could wear sweats, if you were so inclined. The atmosphere is dimly lit and casual. The clientele isn't particularly young or hip, but if you're just there to stuff your face, who the hell cares? The majority of the selection remains the same, regardless of what night you decide to go. The crux of your decision lies within the main courses: Tuesdays = baked ham, roast beef or fried chicken, Thursdays = pasta or barbecue spare ribs. I recommend the former, simply because I found the ribs to be a little dry the one time I opted for the latter. However, not unlike the lacking sauce, I am bold. So, I'm sure I'll test the Thursday night waters again, at some point. Beverages are served at the bar to the rear of the hall. Depending on the size of the crowd, additional seating areas will become available. They do accept table reservations for larger parties. A most excellent dessert bar, with cheesecake, carrot cake, cobbler, bread pudding ... holy heck, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. One more reason to hate Mondays! read more

My favorite is Tuesday. For a reasonable price $13.95 for adults, (kids and senior pricing available) you can enjoy the old fashioned home style cooking of the Elsaesser family. They have open buffets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, reservations are recommender for 8 people or more. Some rooms do have bars and dance floors, I believe they can also be sectioned off. The atmosphere is somewhat German with dark wood usage and style, looks kinda blan and dated. Not the best dinning hall to rent out, but certainly not the worst either. The food is decent "home style" cooking, meats, potatoes, vegetables, with some other things thrown in. The meals lack "style", it's mostly stuff that a mom would make for Thanksgiving. You'll definitely get yourself full at the buffets though. The service is usually pretty good as well. Three stars because it's not the worst meal you could eat, but it's nothing fancy either. This review is for a private event held here. The Farm was very reasonable and worked with our budget. This is not the glitziest place to hold an event in Cincinnati and it can be a bit difficult to get to. I was very impressed with what they offered for our budget. The staff are excellent! The Farm is located on Anderson Ferry in Delhi. It's a little hard to find but they do have ample parking. The building itself is very well maintained. Meeting rooms are well decorated and very open, bathrooms are tidy and plentiful. Staff are friendly and easily accessible. When given requests they are very responsive and genuinely seem to care. The buffet we had was pretty good. Fried chicken and ham were decent. Sides like mashed potatoes and green beans were excellent. Desserts were store bought but still pretty good. The bar is a full bar. For the price, this is an excellent place for an event. read more
