The salad bar is excellent! The lobster bisque was outstanding! Like it's up there with Boston clam chowder. Salad was so fresh...loved the toppings. The fried bananas were yummy. Meats were good! Fogo is still the superior Brazilian steakhouse to me due to their lamb chops and the meats age lightly better. But Texas has a better salad bar. The best Brazilian salad bar has been Tucanos. Got to sit in the waiting area for 20 minutes watching other people eat while our "reservation" apparently meant nothing. Cool. Once we were finally seated, things somehow got worse. No server. No greeting. No card flip explanation. Nothing. We sat there long enough that we just got up and started hitting the salad bar ourselves because it became clear nobody was coming. Eventually another staff member wandered over and dropped the bombshell that our assigned waitress didn't even know our table was hers. So not only was the front of house a mess, the floor staff couldn't even keep track of their own sections. This is a $60+/person steakhouse, not a Golden Corral. At these prices, I shouldn't have to wonder if anyone works here. The whole appeal of Texas de Brazil is the experience -- the gaucho service, the tableside carving, the theater of it all. Instead we got dinner theater where the actors never showed up. The meat, when we finally got some, was fine. It's hard to mess up when your entire concept is "cook meat, bring meat." Went there for my birthday on a Monday. I thought it was going to be dead but they were busy. A ton of food and the meat keeps flowing. The sides bar was really enough food if you want. A huge range of options and we started there. I know there is a term for the people walking around with the meat but they had a lot of variation of meat and it was so good. Service was okay, they talked us into the house wine where you can take the leftover home. It was okay, had a dry flavor and it has an aftertaste which we did not take ours home. This location sits atop the second floor of a retail mall-type complex, and the up escalator may or may not be working. Expect to use the elevator nearby. Been here twice. The Cincy location is on par with the rest of the chain. AYCE meats delivered to your table and sliced fresh into your plate by the wandering cowboys. The salad bar and sides are also ample and standard to the chain. If you're a Texas de Brazil fan you'll get what you're expecting. Second visit for us and not really up to our previous experience. The hostess was curt, which is okay I guess. But a smile and a hello would be nice. We had reservations but still waited for 20 + minutes to be seated. Our server was effective, but wo soft spoken i had a hard time hearing anything he said. But the real reason for coming here is the food, right? The meat was tough, over cooked, and either too heavy on the seasoning on no seasoning at all. We had dessert, uninspired oddly temperate creme brulle. The custard was odd and brulled sugar was burnt, not caramelized. This was a great experience. I tried at least 1 of everything and I was nice and full by the time I left. I enjoyed just about everything's on my plate. My favorites were the Leg of Lamb, the Brazilian Sausage and the Garlic Picanha. They were kind of busy on Saturday night when I went so even though we had a reservation our time was pushed back 20 mins before we sat at our table. If you haven't been before your waiter will let you know how things work at the restaurant. The Christmas Eve experience was very busy but not exactly sure what was different about it. However, so much great meat! You will not leave hungry. Love that you're able to try many items. You receive some standard sides in addition to your meal. Dessert are extra. They have a full bar and on busy days, the pro tip is you can sit at the bar and be served the full meal. We went for Father's Day. Very disappointing all around. The waitress was very nice but a horrible waitress. My wife asked for a drink menu and she never brought one. We had no red/green cards on our table. She found 2 and said she would bring another. We never received it. She said our used plates would be taken and a new one be brought. We had to keep going to the salad bar to get a clean plate. We ended up with piles of plates. I had to hunt her down for ice tea refills and fried banana refills. Toward the end she complained about having extra tables and apologized for not being attentive for us. Moving to the food. I have been to this restaurant multiple times in Pittsburgh over the years and also been to Boi Na Braza downtown when it was open. I expected a similar experience. The restaurant is very small. There also is not enough meat "deliverers" . The manager (shirt and tie) was one of them. We spent way too much time waiting for them. Also the meat was mostly too rare or too well done. In the past meats were cooked at different temperatures on the same skewer. The servers English was so poor they couldn't explain what they were serving. They need a listing on the table of what was available. Our server just said you get chicken, pork, lamb, sausage and steak. When we were almost done I asked where the filet mignon and lamb chops were. We eventually were served the filet mignon. It was obvious they don't serve unless asked for them. I asked for medium rare and they were perfect. I was told that you have to pay $8 for 4 lamb chops. I would have paid if I knew, but didn't want to wait for them to cook them. I was shocked that this was not posted. For $53.99 a person should have been included. The desserts are extra which I knew. I heard people complaining about the cost. The salad bar (and more) was not as good as I remember it but was still a nice add-on. It included lobster bisque soup, mushrooms and cod in a heavy sauce. Not sure why the cod was there except to fill you up. Will definitely not go back. read more

What a unique experience! The salad bar was great, stocked with a variety and always looked fresh. From there, your table is constantly approached by waiters bringing various types and cuts of cooked meats for you to try. It was never-ending! Our waitress brought around several different sides for the table as well that were bottomless. Pricy at first glance but worth every penny! The desserts are extra but our table sprung for several different to get the full experience. Everyone was pleased. We did have a reservation in advance and although the research we did said you should dress up, people wore literally whatever they wanted. Great brazilian steakhouse. Went Valentine's weekend at around 7pm and was seated within a few minutes (had reservations). All of the meat were fresh and well seasoned and the salad bar was a very good compliment to the meal. Waitress recommended the Brazilian cocktail on the drink menu and they were delicious as well. We really had a good time! We purchased some gift cards at Costco that gave us quite the deal here at Texas de Brazil. We made reservations for 5:30 but even coming in then it wasn't very busy on a Friday evening. Although they got much busier as the evening went on. Service was impeccable! Super friendly staff to explain everything to us and make sure we were taking care of. Seriously they were always on top of it! Food was also pretty good. I wouldn't say it was all the best but it was still really darn good. We really enjoyed it. I also very much enjoyed the desserts! I'll be honest the ambiance was very fancy and warm. Despite the spotty reviews, we decided to try Texas de Brazil-Cincinnati. We really enjoyed our dining experience. Our reservation was for 5 o'clock, so we started our dinner on the early side. The host noted that we were first timers on our little arrival paper that the waitress picked up. The cold bar and salad selection was plentiful and delicious. There really wasn't one thing I didn't enjoy. When we came back to our table. They had fresh warm bread that was outstanding. The meat courses kept being presented as long as our sticker was up that said we were interested in having meat at that time. Each of the protein selections was very good. My personal favorite was the fillet wrapped in bacon. I went to the hot bar as well, which had several unique choices. I did not realize that they served individual mashed potatoes, hot french fries and cinnamon fried bananas at our table. If I had known that, I probably would've skipped the hot bar which included scalloped potatoes, shrimp in a creamy sauce, sautéed mushrooms, and rice and beans. The server recommended the house drink was which was the Caipirinha. We had the lime one, and it was excellent. I am going to try to make this drink at home. That's how much I liked it. We already have plans to go back and to bring our kids for this unique dining experience. The server did offer à la carte desserts, which we passed on since we were so full! We used to go to the Brazilian restaurant downtown which is no longer, so finding this place was a surprise to me. Their salad bar had a bounty of wonderful delights. They also had a soup bar where we both got Lobster Bisque. Their small rolls were delicious and I was surprised that they brought out french fries to start us out with. The salad bar was way pared down from what I remember. The mushrooms and the curry shrimp were amazing, but that was about it. The dessert cocktail was fine, not really worth the cost though. We recently dined at Texas de Brazil in Cincinnati to celebrate my wife's birthday. It was our first time trying a Brazilian steakhouse, and we were genuinely excited to experience something new. We'd been looking forward to visiting ever since the restaurant opened last year. To start with the positives: the restaurant is clean, the décor is pleasant, and the staff was welcoming when we arrived. There was a wide variety of food choices, and we appreciated the warm greeting from the manager who seated us. He directed us to the salad bar, though he never actually explained how the dining experience works. We had read reviews in advance and knew what to expect, but if we had just walked in on a whim, the setup could've been pretty confusing. Unfortunately, that's where the highlights ended. The service, while friendly, lacked attentiveness. Dirty plates lingered on our table between courses, and after it was clear we were finished eating, we waited over 15 minutes before anyone came to clear the table. We also had to ask to see the dessert tray after receiving the check. Not exactly the polished service you'd expect at this price point. A waiter repeatedly slammed dishes onto our table--not in an aggressive way, but it felt careless and out of place. We were also seated right by the entrance and hostess stand, next to the salad bar. Someone had spilled food nearby, and we watched at least six staff members, including managers, walk past it before anyone finally cleaned it up. As for the food, it was fine but nothing stood out. The pork was dry, and while we did enjoy some dessert, it was clear the pies had been frozen and thawed the same day. My coconut cream pie had the texture of a dense pecan pie, which is not what you want in a cream-based dessert. This wasn't a cheap night out--our bill came to $275 with tip, and that's without any alcoholic beverages. For that price, we expected something a bit more polished, memorable, and worthy of a return visit. We're glad we tried it, but once was enough. 2.5 stars. read more

Went to restaurant for a birthday dinner (10 total people) on 12.7. 1. Started off poorly when server dropped a tray of 10 drinks (waters, iced teas, lemonades, Cokes) on 1 guest (A) and on another guest's coat and inside their purse (B). 1 manager came over to offer moving wet items and clean up broken glass. Did apologize and mention dry cleaning help, but no mention of other compensation to either guest for a terrible start to dinner. 2. Dinner started, but meat table service was extremely slow and unavailable for ~15 minutes until we had to mention to manager we had been waiting a while for meat to be served. 3. Guest B had a side of sautéed mushrooms. Took a bite and discovered a 1/4 inch pebble in her food after chewing and having pain. Called over manager. Manager told Guest B that sometimes happens since mushrooms come from the ground. Didn't give confidence in how they wash their food. 4. Heard 2 other instances of staff dropping glassware in dining area during dinner service. 5. At end of night, server came to find out check paying arrangement. Guest A was still damp from earlier. Guest B was still upset from damp coat, ruined purse and items, and mushroom pebble. No mention to Guest A or Guest B of "We're sorry for the experience. Here's a discount or we're compensating your meal." Still expected them to pay full price. When checks came out, both Guest A and Guest B had full checks - dinner, dessert, and incorrect listed drinks. Guest B asks server to see a manager. A second different manager comes over and he is completely unaware of dinner experience. Server and other manager didn't communicate or give him any information before arriving. In conversation with birthday dinner host and Guest B, he came across confused and reluctant at first to assist as he didn't know about their experience or couldn't understand why there was an issue. Once Guest A, Guest B, and the birthday host explained what happened, they finally agreed to comp their dinners (still pay for dessert) and to get their information to pay for dry cleaning. 3rd manager came over with forms for dry cleaning, but didn't know what process would take place for reimbursement or payment. We made the best of dinner, but staff leadership interaction was not positive, kind, and felt reluctant to be understanding. Guest A and Guest B were finally compensated for their experience, but it shouldn't have taken multiple efforts to be heard and understood. I'm right next to the front door we asked for hey can we just switch out for the next two person table and they told me no they couldn't do that and the wait time could also be 45 minutes instead of so I was just like hey can we just swap out for the next two person they can have that one we'll check the connector reservation. The host was very snippy with me and then she doesn't know it might be 45 minutes at a table opening up, then gave it to the people line and completely skipped us. I was so disappointed in this restaurant. With having a reservation my party had to still wait 45 min to be seated. This is a wait time to be expected if you Don't have a reservation. We were put in a back corner and felt unseen. The water refills were so slow that we sat with empty classes for five min which is odd given the amount of cameras that are in the restaurant you would think they would be more prompt. On a couple meat passes the passadores turned left and didn't come to our table at all. The server took such a long time with another table it felt like we were not a priority at all. I really have no idea how there are so many poor reviews- we went last night (a busy Friday night) and it was amazing! We have been to the one in Lexington but this one was so much better service wise! We got 3 different meats delivered almost immediately, constant meat and our waitress constantly kept our drinks filled and people checked on us often. The one in Lex it seems to take a while to get meat to come around. This one also had a couple new meat options we hadn't seen before like ribs and bacon wrapped jalepenos. I'm so happy to have a Brazilian steakhouse back in Cincinnati! There is so much to love about Texas de Brazil. First off, happy hour caipirinha for only $6- yes please! At my server's suggestion I got the passion fruit flavor which was delicious and not overly sweet. Then on to the salad bar. The feijoada ( black beans) were beyond delicious as were the potatoes au gratin and the shrimp salad. Meats started coming soon thereafter. I found everything to be juicy and well seasoned. The house sirloin was the best, but the spicy and garlic sirloin were also top notch. The gauchos were attentive and started to offer me medium rare without needing to ask. Our Brazilian server was attentive and warm. The ambiance was casual compared to some Brazilian steakhouses, so go expecting chill rather than fancy. It was such a great experience but for two issues that knocked it down a star. The first was that plates were not cleared in a timely manner. I sat for 20 minutes with my old plate next to me. It is minor to some folks but a pet peeve for me in a pricey buffet situation. The next issue was that my pescatarian daughter was constantly asked if she wanted meat. I appreciate the gauchos wanting to include everyone, but a more obvious signal that someone is only doing the salad bar would be welcome. These issues won't be enough to keep me away. Had high expectations for this place. I've experienced fogo de chao and was hoping this place would be the same. But I was wrong. I am mainly disappointed with the service. Fogo poops on this place with meat selections. But the food here was good if you can get it. The atmosphere was expected, but seating and placement of tables has a lot of blind spots. We were sat in a less optimal place. Our server wasn't attentive and had us waiting for drinks longer on a not so busy week day. I can only imagine the service when the house is full. We had our cards flipped to green the whole time we were there because the guys walking around the place would only come every so often. Plus it would be the same type of meat. This was the worst Texas de Brazil experience. First of all the design is horrible. You walk through a small door and all of the sudden you're staring at people eating and they're staring right back at you. There's a tiny reception desk to your right. Then after waiting 20 min after our reservation time we sat down. I ordered a drink and it took 30 min to get it. I finally went to the bar and got my own drink and came back to my table. The meat was excellent. But if you're going to pay 200 dollars for service this isn't the place for you unless you like retrieving your own drinks or maybe you may have had the foresight to just drink a lot of water prior to coming so you aren't thirsty during your meal. I was so excited when I saw that this was coming. We eagerly awaited the opening of the restaurant so that we could celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. There used to be two other Brazilian steakhouses in the Cincinnati area, but this one is far and away the best I have ever encountered (and this includes ones I have visited in other areas of the country). My son had been to the location in Louisville and highly recommended this establishment. He was right. If anything, he undersold it. The food was outstanding. I'm not a big meat eater and truth be told, I would have been happy with just the salad and hot bars. I don't know if the items on the hot bar rotate, but if they don't, I highly recommend the shrimp in coconut milk. There was a large variety of food that was brought to the table. It would have been nice to be told by the server what meat options would be coming because there were close to ten of them and by the time my favorite (and unexpected) came, I was so full that I couldn't enjoy it as much as I would have if it had come around first. They did come around and ask if there was anything in particular that we wanted, but I just didn't know what they had. My favorites were the beef rib and the grilled shrimp. The beef was incredibly tender as was the shrimp, which can often become dry when grilling. The seating area was very nice although the front door opened straight into the dining room which made for an odd setup. Our table was sat over some sort of metal plate that ran the length of the table for eight. This was only problematic for being able to pull the chair to the table if sat on that side of the table. Centering the table over that plate would have helped avoid that although it would make it difficult for the people to come around with the meat. We are looking forward to our next visit. Since we joined their club, we will save $20 on our next visit and they give rewards for birthdays and anniversaries as well if you join the club. You won't be disappointed if you choose to dine here. Just give yourself time to enjoy everything and pace yourself or you will fill up quickly and miss out like I almost did. read more
