Since my last review I've been back a few times and it appears they have cleaned up a lot of the issues. They have the best value $10 steak ever (Only available on Saturdays). For that price you get a thick piece of rump steak, fat chips and small salad. So far the quality of the beef pretty good sometimes you might get a tough batch but lately its really good value and as you can see in the photo, it's much thicker than other $10 deals going around. I always order medium-rare. If they are really busy, order one temperature down as it tends to rest a long time before you get the beep making your steak more overcooked than you ordered. The steak comes with a gravy, however a wide range of self-service generic condiments are also available such as mustard, tomato sauce, mustard seeds, bbq sauce, etc. Conclusion It a good place to catch the weekend games on the big screen with a beer after/during your Saturday steak. Literally the greatest place I have ever been to. The food was amazing I loved every single part of it including the people the cum. My 8 children really loved the arcade, and they may not of won any prizes, but they had fun playing the race car games, even though they aren't my children, they still had fun. This place is great in the summer and winter. The various sections of seating arrangements with each is own atmosphere makes it a great place for almost every occasion. My partner and I love coming here on a hot summer day to sit outside and enjoy nice glass of wine or beer and tuck into the biggest plate of ribs I ever seen. Yum yum. Winter time the indoor Irish style bar is so cozy for a cold night with friendly staff and warm fireplace. When ever I tell locals I am going to The Fiddler they frown at me. As its seems that previously it was known as The Mean Fiddler and seemed to be a quiet different vibe. The price for the food is more than reasonable. Most of my visits to the Fiddler are vague and blurry due to alcohol consumption. So clearly, this is the place you want to go for a big night. By far my absolute favourite thing about it? The hair straighteners in the bathroom! For a pittance ($1.50 or something) you can use a hair straightener for 5 minutes! It's a godsend on rainy nights, when the heavens decide to put all the hours you spent on your hair to waste. Besides which, The Fiddler is enormous. I've been separated from my friends and horribly lost on more than one occasion. If you can keep track of those you're with, the space will be a cause for excitement rather than fear and loneliness. The crowd is okay. They're friendly enough, if not the most sophisticated people around, and they're always up for a spin on the dancefloor. The music is varied, and heart-thumpingly loud. Friendly staff, well presented food and a varied customer base. As a word of warning, the family friendly area and over 18 area are closely linked to each other, such complications as over drunk others being sick in bathrooms may occur if you're going for a family dinner, just something to be wary of. All in all however, I was impressed. The joint was presented nicely with well lit up areas, great decorations and plenty of adequate seating for groups of all sizes (all the while a delightful Australian theme all throughout). The staff were friendly, seemed like actual human beings and cleared our table promptly after eating, in a nest fashion. On the topic of eating, ordering is simple and can be done by anyone of any age and the food came within 20 minutes, for all 8 people of our group (quite impressive in my opinion) with all the food laid out nicely on each of our plates. In regards to beverages, only those that are over 18 can purchase them as they're bought from the bar. Another thing to keep in mind if ordering drinks, whether as children, or as a group of friends that are under age, you will need an adult to get said drinks for you. We were very happy and will be returning again, possibly next week again. On another side note, I recommend booking a table before going as it can get quite busy, and the last thing you want is a non ideal eating location, simply ring, state group size and leave a name, the table will be reserved based on your preference and will be marked with the left name. This is my favourite place to have a meal with my family and friends. They have a lot of small areas that you can get a table, so although it is very popular. We feel like we still get to have a nice quiet place together. The food is great. read more

The night time atmosphere was very warming and social, food was absolutely amazing. However, a issue is that people get drunk and invade eating areas this means when you try to have a nice meal with your family, there are some people near you getting loud. A way to fix this problem is to add a dedicated area for drinkers. That plan may however backfire as parents might want to have a wine with their meal while supervising their children. The Mean Fiddler has been recognised as one of the roughest joints in Sydney in terms of crime (from bar fights to more serious things). The "Fiddler" is mean for a reason, what with its negative press. The place is absolutely packed with people and despite the beautiful setting and decor, attracts some very rough types. If you're up for clubbing, the Mean Fiddler is the place to go. Drinks are reasonably priced and the entry fee is $10. A lot of people gather here so you will most often see someone you know. It's quite a young crowd who love to drink (who doesn't?). The venue is rather spacious which is a big plus. However, if you're looking for a classy night out, The Mean Fiddler isn't it. read more

Large pub with good food. Good place to go hang out for people living nearby. Bar area nice for the ones looking for drinks. Kitchen has decent food but wouldn't recommend as exquisite meals. Nice for families as well, as there is a playground. Not an evening place for kids though. read more

The Fiddler has to be one of the charming places to dine at in this area of Sydney. The meals and drinks have usually been spectacular. Although last night 28/02/2016 was a first of disappointments. I ordered a Wagyu burger with chips and spaghetti bolognese for my son. The burger bun was cold, the pattie was charred black, the salad was soggy and the chips over cooked. My son's bolognese was so hot, we had to leave it for a good 15 minutes to cool it down. I was celebrating my birthday and this made me quite sad as I had picked the venue. read more

Great place to relax with family, we had great evening with my hubby and kids, we really enjoyed fresh hot tasty food which arrived fast and in time, took just 10-15 min, also it wasn't crowded. I ate breakfast at The Fiddler with my family for Mother's Day. We ordered our meals and they arrived within 15 minutes. My order of bacon and eggs with toast was cold and dry. My other family members were served cold toast as well as lukewarm coffee. One of our orders received the wrongly cooked eggs. The staff members did not look very happy to be working or to help us with the confusion of our messed up orders. read more

This place is "great". My wife and I went recently on a Weds night. We circled around the various pubs but it was hard to pass down the Irish pub. Such a quant and warm feel, with the hot burning fireplace. There was also a lovely live Irish group of men playing fiddle, flute and mandolin. Felt like we were in Dublin all night long as we sipped on pints of guinness. The food is fantastic. Whatever history this place has, I would say it was no longer relevant on this particular night. For us it felt like it was far removed from the aggressive and fast-paced scene that Sydney has become, and catered towards the gentler souls who are after a cultured and friendlier night out. Would go back for their Parmigiana in a Pan and the Gnocchi. next time I'll be dieting all week long for the slab of Pork Ribs which looked fantastic and piggy. read more

This place gets absolutely packed on the weekends so be prepared to wait a bit longer if your visiting then. The venue is freaking massive with so many areas to choose and sit and chill. The area is very summer house / cabana style so bring your sunnies and pull up a seat in the sun. The menu is typical pub style. i highly recommend the ribs and the pulled pork burger. read more
