We needed to hire an immigration attorney to get our family out of a war zone in Ukraine. The firm…read morecan not afford a receptionist, and only has voicemail. They then assign an associate who apparently knows nothing about the situation in Ukraine. We wanted to meet in person for a consultation, as we really would like to know who's handling the immigration for us, and to get a feel for their office and professionalism. As we would be paying many fees and legal expenses, an in-person meeting would be important. After a brief telephone call, we asked to setup appointment to meet for consultation so we can immediately see our options and start procedures. We advise attorney that Ukraine has both Domestic and International Passports. Obviously with the millions of citizens who have left Ukraine, we're absolutely positive that most of them didn't have International Passports. Attorney writes back to see Domestic Passports. We explain we will get professional scans when needed, but right now we would just send quick photos - we had the family take the photos and send the next day, which we immediately forwarded to Attorney. Having the actual passports was totally unnecessary, as Attorney was only supposed to be only checking with their contacts as to passport requirements. If you're paying an attorney to do a Google Search, you might as well do it yourself. After days of not hearing back from Attorney, we email about setting up consultation meeting. Now the excuses come pouring out from them - one, they yell at us that we're stupid and didn't get translations done of passports. Two, they indicate that the translations are necessary to do paperwork. Three, they indicate that due to Covid-19, they can not do in-person appointments [this is May 2022 now], and finally state another excuse of having their office being remodeled, and their only conference room is taken by 2 attorneys as their office. Obviously this firm doesn't keep up with the latest news regarding Ukraine, or changes in Immigration. We didn't hire them, so there was no need to have passports or any translated documents. We didn't even know what procedures we would be doing. So this firm is OK with construction workers in their office, but not paid clients. In my opinion, based on their rude emails responses, this firm is clearly racist towards Ukraine! It's very disgusting that a law firm for Immigration would be Racist! Do yourself a favor, and either do Immigration Procedure yourself or hire a professional firm that actually cares about their clients, and who is not racist.
