I always enjoy supporting local and truly want to support local but I was disappointed when I called The Flower Station this morning. When I called I asked if they delivered to Kingsley, a 20 minute drive. The lady responded that they do but the order must be a $75 minimum and the delivery fee is $40. This is an incredibly high price and almost seems like price gouging. I think The Flower Station should rethink their pricing. I was shocked when I heard the cost! I have never had a flower delivery cost that much in my life! And to top it off, the lady was rude on the phone. Her tone was rude and when I said "ok thank you have a good day", she didn't say anything and just hung up the phone! Poor customer service. I will not be supporting The Flower Shop for future floral needs. It's just too bad that I would've supported local if the pricing was not outrageous! read more

"Extraordinary!" is how my sister-in-law described the flower arrangement she received from The Flower Station today. When I saw her photo of it on Facebook I agreed. I ordered online last night, not sure whether the stormy weather would allow for delivery today. Another company's website didn't have a delivery option until a week from now. But I ordered the S022 sympathy arrangement (see photo I posted) and crossed my fingers. We are truly pleased with the quality and the speed of delivery. The only suggestions I have, if The Flower Station has the resources, are to add a confirmation email and to upgrade your photos or maybe your overall website. When I received flowers from The Flower Station, a receipt was tucked into the arrangement which included ALL OF THE SENDER'S CREDIT CARD INFORMATION (e.g., entire cc #, expiration date, and security code) as well as his name, phone, complete address, and price of the flowers. When I informed the sender, he called to thank them for the beautiful arrangement and friendly service but when he explained the error of included information, the manager told him that this is NORMAL PROTOCOL and that he shouldn't provide his credit card information if he doesn't trust who it might go to!! Very straightforward: I called them on Thursday before Mother's Day, ordered some flowers, asked if they could be delivered (way out on the peninsula) Friday or Saturday. No problem they said. Once again, my poor opinion of The Flower Station in Traverse City has been confirmed. The beautiful plant that was delivered by The Flower station died so quickly after my mother's death. When I called to let them know and see if there was something I could do to save the plant or get a replacement, the very unfriendly manager reiterated her policy of never replacing or refunding flowers. This is not my first unpleasant situation with this shop. Though I have never had a problem with flowers or plants before, the manager has always been so unfriendly and difficult to work with. Hands down worst service I have ever had in my entire LIFE! My boyfriend ordered me a very specific order with wild flowers and sunflowers and ended up with lilies and roses. Both flowers I HATE and my boyfriend did not order! It took over a week to finally get the flowers; which after the flower shop messed up with delivering expected me to come and get the flowers myself. Every time I spoke with someone I got a different answer on why I have not received my flowers along with cutting me off on the phone every time I tried to reach out. I live in Los Angeles and I can't say how painless it has always been to do business with these lovely people. I usually describe what I want and they always go above and beyond. I wanted a little pick me up for my mom, in hospital in TC, and I am in Ann Arbor. I looked at other florists in TC but all had such high price points, I wanted to get flowers and chocolates for about $50. They went above and beyond. They made a cute vase of colorful flowers, and stopped to pick up chocolates for me, AND it was delivered within 2 hours of me ordering. Twice now i have called this place to deliver flowers to my wife who works across the street from this place. Twice I have been denied, as their drivers are either not available or too busy. Do yourself a favor and either plan three weeks ahead in order to utilize this joint's "delivery" or find a place where they'll at least deny you in a pleasant manner. I was made to feel like a jerk for even calling them. I want to support small businesses like most folks do. But they have to at least be polite. And if they cannot deliver across the street, they not only don't want my business, they are urging me to share my experiences on a forum like yelp. In fairness to them, it's valentines day and probably the busiest day of the year for them. But the lady (Margaret) who answered made me feel like i was bugging them and that I should never try them again. I promise not to. read more

Recently used this florist to send flowers. Very disappointed. The bouquet did not look anything like the hundred dollars it cost. When that disappointment was shared with the shop, received a terse note back saying that the flowers were actually worth more. Really? Cindy, The Flower Station's manager lacks any empathy, compassion or ability to see something through the customer's eyes. There is a 100% drastic difference between what was ordered and what was delivered. When we called to inquire, Cindy at no time took any responsibility for the difference. She only blamed Joe Biden, the supply chain, the growers and even gas prices for the difference in the bouquets. THEN, in a hasty and terrible decision, Cindy got with the owner of The Flower Station and decided to replace the flowers they sent, with only 6 stems. Driving back to my mothers home to pick up the old flowers and drop off the bouquet that looks like you picked it yourself alongside M22. We told her to please not do this, and she did it anyway. When I called this morning, NOT ONCE did Cindy apologize or try to understand what had happened and the strange situation she put my mother through. She once again burst into talking over me defending her position as "just a manager" and "the owner told me to do so". Furthermore, shame on the owners of The Flower Station, who(m)ever you might be to make such an irrational call to "right" your wrong by placing my mother in the middle of your inability to update your website for what you can actually offer for the money, vs a dream scenario of flowers that can never be delivered. Next time you are looking to spend your hard earned dollars in Traverse City on flowers for a loved one, please do yourself a favor and do not give your money to someone who obviously only cares about blaming everyone but themselves for their shortcomings and give your money to another local florist. Was with my son when we ordered corsage for Prom. Ordered purple and white roses (even showed lady the color of purple we wanted). Ended up with PINK and no white. My son didn't say anything to them when he picked up corsage. I went BACK and was told that those flowers WERE purple. HA. Funny thing, his date was able to find purple. Also, when I commented to the lady when she took our order that they get to have fun being creative making corsages, she said Mother's Day was the next day so they didn't have Time to be creative on corsages. I have utilized the flower station over the years to have flowers delivered to my mother for her; birthday, Mother's Day, random holidays, and never, not even once have they let me down even slightly. I live down in Detroit metro and my mother lives close to the downtown area of TC so it is difficult to celebrate and show her appreciation sometimes. However, they have made life so much easier. My most recent interaction was for her birthday, 8/15, this year it was on a Saturday. I called them the morning of, the clerk had literally just walked in and was more than helpful. I called around 9:45 am they had the most gorgeous bouquet delivered almost immediately, as my mother called me not even two hours later thanking me for the obnoxiously large but gorgeous bouquet of flowers. I received the best arrangement in the world! They used a hearty container, but more importantly, the variety of flowers was incredible! They used twigs, and textures, and berries, and moss, oh my! One of the varieties even had foliage that smelled like evergreens. It was exactly what I needed in this dreary, long winter undergoing chemotherapy. read more
