Spoke with lawyer Eugene and he demonstrably knew nothing - you know you're off to a bad start when you explain all the details of a case and they respond with "what can I do for you?" Also several responses along the lines of "I can't answer that" and "That's up to you". Hard to believe someone so completely unknowledgable and evasive graduated law school. 11/12/2024 4:30p I am presently entrenched in a Landlord/ Tenant refund debacle and was so excited to work with Laura of Fowler Law after reading how much she impacts our community. I have learned so much in these past few months...Sadly, for me, I am not the paying client--a South Austin rental landlord fraudulently kept $1350.00, paid back $1151 then hired Laura to distribute the balance instead of agreed Zelle--Interacting with Laura, so far since, resulted in waiting to be mail a refund check for $198.94 since 11/10/24 she was hired to distribute + told her team "Cleary she is disturbed...the client is a perfect gentleman" over email she included me on + blocked me when I asked why she added 5 random people from her law firm to our emails. I am hopeful to being treated with the awesome civility and professionalism she is praised for but I am not going to hold my breath. This seems to be a law firm full of clowns, not lawyers. They screwed up a simple task of adding my spouses name to my property deed. When we confronted them about the mistake and how we originally had questioned the wording in the document that they submitted. Ms Fowler went completely in defense mode and did not want to admit any wrongdoing. The negative reviews are justified. Laura knows the law, however the execution/delivery of the practice is subpar; however, the rates are top tier. I had received useful information in the past from the Fowler Law firm in what ended up being free consults therefore I wanted to send some actual business their way for a probate case -- so I retained the firm. I am giving two stars as I'm including the past consults. If I rated only my paid engagement it would be only one star. Delivery of service was exceedingly slow/delayed and the accuracy of documents was dismal. I attempted to correct the drafts multiple times for inaccuracies in names of parties used in the documents -- ultimately the Fowler sent out documents with egregious errors. My son's probate case and she misspelled his name, my grandsons name and my sons fiancees name. **After my bringing these errors to their attention in the drafts no less than three times. The Fowler law firm consumed my original retainer without moving the needle (case) forward in the least and then came with hand out for more $$$. She counsels real estate agents when questions concerning sales transactions arise. I personally have contacted her for advice. She did request that I visit her in her office, so we could discuss the problem face to face. Laura is a lawyer, and her time is valuable. I was not charged for our time together, but her knowledge and advice is valuable. I appreciate everything she does for the real estate field, and for the community where we work and live. This law firm was suggested by their colleagues. I called and initially Laura was nice and said she could help me with a civil rights issue and bastrop schools. She indicated she may be able to help me to send in my sensitive documents so her team could review them. Long story short they now don't represent individuals and only districts or co ops. Why did they waste my tIme. They probably need to get on the same page about who exactly they can help so they don't sound stupid later. read more

She will say anything to make you go away. My "client" over me over $2000 for work I completed, and she said it would be taken care of but obviously lied. I am not a lawyer and had a unique circumstance I wanted addressed in my estate planning. I've been going back and forth for months on the documents and my feedback is not being incorporated. There are typos and I've even made changes to the documents myself. If the documents weren't already drafted I would have gone somewhere else. I have no experience on a personal level with law firms, but this just doesn't seem like how this experience should work. I'm ready to be done with this process - who wants to continue to think about writing your will. It's something you want a quality, expert, job done quickly and then just have the peace of mind....definitely disappointed. read more

They will make you feel like your case matters and you are important, then they will pass you along to other lawyers in their firm, so that the original lawyers have absolutely no accountability for anything said. They fail to mention important things about your case, and will tell you things cost a certain amount when in fact they are double. They will not bill you for a few months then surprise you with a huge bill, despite saying that if they spend any more then the deposited amount they will let you know, and worst of all they will lose your case. read more

We had a nightmare experience with attorneys at this firm and yes that was plural. Careless! Due to there attorneys lack in knowledge of Texas Law, they put us in a situation to be at the mercy of the hands of the other party. Fowler Law Firm claimed they would fix their mistake and not charge us. They still charged us. Two separate bills. When I called the front office, the paralegal Michael explained that I still have an outstanding balance. Then they left me high and dry. Walked out of fixing their mistake. They not only made their mistake worse... but they proved what a mess of a Law Firm this place really is. Unethical firm that doesn't care about anyone but themselves. If you made a mistake..... IN WHICH YOU DID..... own up to it. Make it right so you can earn respect as a firm. In other words..... GROW A BACK BONE! I will NEVER work with this law firm again. I have been over charged extensively and my lawyer, Steve Campos never followed any of my wishes in how I wanted to handle things in my case. I simply wanted to end things as quickly as possible, but Steve tried to drag things out and caused unnecessary additional costs through his attempts to "get me more money." Too late I realized that Steve was self serving and merely wanted to drag out the case to continue to charge me for his counsel. I also have been trying to reach someone from the law firm for over 6 months to deal with billing issues and find out the necessary steps for me to simply change lawyers or drop the firm entirely. I have called and emailed numerous times and only received one phone call from Mrs. Fowler herself who's only response was to listen to my complaints and then hang up. I would NEVER suggest working with this law firm. I do have to say that the secretaries are very nice and have been sympathetic to my plight in trying to pay my lawyer and end my contract with the firm.
