A Marion staple. This place has been around for decades. The tiny ice cream shop is located next to Casey's gas station off 11th st. They are a small family owned and operated establishment with just about every option of ice cream. Soft serve cones, "freezes" with all the add in options, popsicles, malts, shakes, splits, you name it they've probably got it. Great little after dinner treat or to cool down after a hot summer afternoon. The staff is really sweet, mostly high school kids trying to earn some extra cash. The Freeze is always busy during summer. They have a good selection of floats..shakes..sundaes...coffee coolers..slushes...whips. Service is good. People who work there are friendly and get orders out quickly. Only things I don't like is ...there is vehicles backed up in street waiting to service. It's worth the wait! read more

Retro-feel ice cream stand! It is nothing fancy, but it sure is tasty! My normal go-to spot has closed due to the outbreak, this I hit up The Freeze to satisfy my krunch kone craving! A small cone is loaded with ice cream and had a perfect swirl with plenty of krunch coating! The owner was also working and was friendly and positive! We usually get okay service here. Today I decided to get the carrot cake "shake." I usually get the chocolate malt and this "shake" was clearly just ice cream with carrot cake flavoring mixed in. When I asked the girl at the window if it had been made correctly and showed it to her, and displayed that it wouldn't come through the straw, she insisted it had milk in it and was correctly made. It was a pretty basic frozen milk style shake. It wasn't great but it was still okay. The cost was pretty high though for what you get. I would still go there though to support the local business and sit outside to eat some ice cream. read more

This is definitely a mom and pop type ice cream stop. I thought it was pretty inexpensive, and I've never been there on a decent day when there's not a line at the drive thru/and or walk up window. The only think I think that could make it better is investing in some new umbrellas or something for the tables out front and keeping regular hours. It seems pretty hit or miss sometimes when they're going to be open. I guess that's the nature of the ice cream biz though, dependent on the weather. read more

Attempted to redeem my card from a Marion High School Fundraiser this afternoon. When the staff did not know how to process the discount, they asked their manager. She proceeded to lecture, and then insult me, while I tried to place my order. I left without completing my order. As I walked away the manager opened the drive-thru window and continue to heckle me. I can NOT recommend going to 'The Freeze,' nor will I return! read more
